Hello all. We had booked a Marceline tour on a morning that MK was listed to open at 9:00 and were looking forward to having a first quiet hour on the tour. MK hours have now changed and opening is 8:00 and we're not sure we should keep the reservation or reschedule. Could anyone that has started a tour at park opening please let me know your thoughts. Is it still calm enough with all the extra people in the park to really enjoy the tour? Is it easy enough to all stay together in the group when there's a park full of people? Thank you.

Yeah, it's kind of frustrating when WDW changes hours and messes up guest expectations.

Your group will be easy to spot -- you're the ones with the earpieces and standing in one small circle while everyone else is pretty much on their way to a ride somewhere else...

Okay then... anyone with actual experience of having a tour when the park opens?

Based on all the tours that I have been on, it shouldn't be a problem. It would be a mistake to assume that you would have the park to yourself anyway. The only tour that I remember with a park that wasn't yet open was the Behind the Magic Tour that originates from Epcot. The first part of the tour was in a completely empty World Showcase. Even then it wasn't completely empty, there were service carts and vehicles everywhere.

Seriously though, the early hours of park opening, if not EMH, are comparatively quiet.

We took the tour in June at park opening. Very easy to stay together...it is usually a fairly small tour. You will have a head set to be able to listen to your tour guide easily. You'll also have a name tag p, which made a fabulous keepsake. The tour was really fantastic, and I highly recommend it. :) Hope that helps...if you have any questions, I'm hapoy to answer them. :)

the Marceline tour is my least favorite. Perhaps it's because I already knew most of the info that was shared. Or maybe is was because we had a new tour guide. Either way, your group will be kept together throughout the tour. No need to worry about crowds being a problem. The Haunted Mansion part is pretty cool, though.

Like your anticipated experience, my Keys to the Kingdom tour was within the first hour of park opening.

Thank you all! We're going to keep the tour; looking forward to trying something different.
