Taking the Red eye

we're taking the red eye out of Los Angeles May 7. We arrive on the 8th (the day our cruise leaves) at around 6a.m. (3 am LA time)
Does anyone know of any cheaper hotels by the airport that we can go to for a couple of hours before we get picked up by the bus. I hate to hang around the airport for 4 hours before the first bus comes. We called the Hyatt asking for a day rate, but they couldn't guarantee us a room
We'll have a 10 month old and a 3 year old, so the extra hours of sleep would be good for them too!

have you tried to change your plane reservation and come in the day before? With only 4 hours to spare, I don't think it would be worth it considering the time it would take to collect our stuff, get a ride to a place and return. Plus if the plane is late, worse case scenerio, arrive and check the hyatt, if they can't give you a place, just sack out on their chairs by the restaurant, I can't imagine it would be very busy then.

I suggest going through Priceline. Bid the higest star level and you should be able to get something (probably the Marriott) for around $28 to $33, plus the Priceline fee. The hotels at that star level have free shuttles to take you to the hotel and back to the airport. Alternately, you might want to switch your transfers to a towncar so you can choose your own departure time. We typically use Priceline for a hotel and have Happy Limo take us to the port. Our flight usually arrives around midnight, so we like being able to sleep in a little later and still get to the port early by having our own transportation.
