Taking the princess to see her castle!! Trip Report finally started!!!

We have never been to the water parks. In fact, DH and I haven't been to any water park since we were both teenagers... our oldest DD just went to her first one over the summer (there's one just a few hours away, and she went with a friend to spend the day there... she LOVED it, and now begs that we can do the water parks on our next family trip to WDW!)

And we've never been to Downtown Disney, either! Just never found the time to go over there, which is a shame because my girls would go nuts at the Lego and Pin Trading stores! Getting to DTD will be a definite MUST on our next trip!

Wow, DTD is such a much do!!!! You will love it. You should try a waterpark too.
They are themed soo well. Of the two Blizzard Beach is our favorite. I understand not having a waterpark near you. Their are only 2 in NC. I am just lucky to live 10 minutes from one:)

All of our group will be back together and we will be off to enjoy Disney Hollywood Studios. To me this park will always be MGM. We will definitely be doing the mad dash to Toy Story Mania with half the park. TSM is the only ride at Disney we have yet to ride at Disney. After we ride and grab some fast passes we will head back up to The Tower of Terror.:woohoo:

And off to Rock n Roller coaster we will go (hi,ho…hi,ho). Of course we are all still crossing our fingers that DS6 grows that half inch or so.

Hopefully we will squeeze in a few more rides before our Lunch at 50’s Primetime. I am already thinking about a milk shake.

For our evening plans we are planning on heading back to Downtown Disney for some playtime at Disney Quest. Dinner plans for the for the evening are kind of up in the air. I have thought about maybe Wolf Gang Puck Express but I don’t know. Anyone have a suggestion for dinner that night?:confused3 I can’t believe I haven’t nailed this down yet.

On every trip I make a Disney binder with all my important papers and plans. The size of the binder makes it unrealistic for me to carry around with me. While I don’t need all the info in the binder with me at all times, it would be nice to have some of the info. So after much thought and a little crafting I have come up with an answer. My pocket planner make from a 4x6 photo album. And of course I made two.

I made a section for each park
  • with park hours
  • attraction checklist
  • Dining ADR’s with Confirmation #
  • Daily Budget Worksheet (you know I am all about the money

Great job on the binders! :thumbsup2

Oh, the PB&J milkshake at 50sPTC is to die for! Soooooo yummy!

Oh my goodness I am in awe of your planning journal and binders :worship:

Your kids are so cute! I think its great that you can still get away with dressing your boys to match :thumbsup2

We leave on the same day, although it will take me much longer to get there than you guys (not looking forward to that part). Not long and we will both be doing our SDD!

Can't wait to hear about your trip - I will be looking out for matching cute boys and a pink princess while we are there!

Thanks!! And I got the the Twinkle Toes at Khols on Wendover. They were on sale for 30.99 and I got a coupon on my door for 10 off a 30 dollar purchase. So 20.99 isn't too bad or that's what I tell myself :lmao: Shoe Carnival has them on sale for 29.99 (I think down from 34.99) not bad if you get two pair of shoes since you get the second pair half off. ;)

Awesome, Thanks!

These are SO cute!! Love this idea. :)

I can hardly believe that Disney is only a little more than a week away.:dance3: Even though we are not officially leaving for Disney until Thursday morning, we are staying in a hotel Wednesday night to avoid having to make a mad rush that morning to the airport.:thumbsup2 The airport we chose to fly out of is about an hour away (doing so saved us a good amount of $) . Our flight leaves out at 7:00am. If we left the morning of we would have to leave our house between 3:00 and 3:30, and I would have to wake up around 2:00. The thought of me getting up that early would make me question going to sleep at all.:confused3 So a couple of trips ago we started staying in hotel the night before. When we did this we found out something awesome. If you spend the night in a hotel around an airport you can, at most hotels, leave your car in their parking lot for free.:worship: Then you can take their free shuttle to the airport. We have found only one hotel so far that wanted to charge a$ 20.00 fee for leaving your car. Even with that considered, it would be cheaper than airport parking. At our airport it is $6.00 a day.

DH got on to Hotwire last week and took a gamble. We ended up with a Hyatt Place Hotel for $73.00.

hyatt-place.jpg

DH made a quick call to the hotel and found out they offered free parking. Yay!!! The way I see it, we only paid $13.00 for the night stay since we would have had to pay $60.00 to park anyway. And better yet it means I can start my vacay a night earlier.:cool1:

DH has decided to take the whole day off. We are going to pick the kiddos up from school and head out of town. I am getting even more excited just typing this. To make things better, we will be able to swing by the area mall and spend the last $70 of my free Disney Store gift cards. I forgot to mention that of course DFIL and DSMIL are coming along for the night. They are just so easy to work with. By that, I mean we make plans and they hand over their credit card to cover their half.:lmao: Gotta Love them:love:

I can't believe how close you're trip is!! Someone may have asked you this already, but you're doing a TR, right? I need to see your boys in their matching outfits and your DD in her Gymboree outfits!

Thanks you are too kind. And I am surprised by how many people think its cute that I dress my boys alike. I figured people would be on me for being too controlling. But like I said I just can't help myself. I figure they will complain when they have had enough:thumbsup2

I do not envy your long flight at all. I can't imagine doing it with kids. We thought about taking the kids to Hawaii. But between the 11 hour flight and 6 hour time difference I chickened out. Disney is just fine with me:cool1:

Oh and I will keep an eye out for you too. It would be funny if I saw you among the millions of people there.

These are SO cute!! Love this idea. :)

Thanks. :) Anything I can craft to make the time go by faster I will. But for now, I have to make 30 welcome to Sunday School cards for my new class. That should take up some time for sure

I'm planning on it. Hopefully my TR will be half as good as yours. :) And don't for get to tell us how your first day of school goes.

You're TR will be great! I will tell you how our first day goes! It's so weird to think that we're all going to different schools...me at the high school, Thing2 at the middle school, Thing3 at the elementary school and then Mom teaches English at the high school in the next town over. Luckily we have good friends who carpool with us!

I love the pocket planners, I might have to make us some of those.:goodvibes I had never thought about staying near the airport the night before we leave, I might see if everyone else would wanna do that. We always get someone in the family who isnt going to drop us off and pick us up to save on parking but with an 15 month old it would be better to get the extra sleep.

Thanks. The planners were super easy to make. Depending on how far you live from the airport it might just be the way to go. I know my kids need the sleep. ;)Especially if we plan to go to a park that day

I love love love the pocket planners! You are as always so crafty and this is going to be so helpful! YAY. Hugs <3

LOVE LOVE LOVE the pocket planners..they are the perfect size and I will be stealing this idea for furture trips!!!

This week has been such a blur. Wednesday morning I was in my 'going to Disney' happy mood. Then in the middle of the grocery store it all changed. I got a call letting me know my uncle had passed away. It wasn’t a total shock because he had been battling with cancer for a while. But at only 54, I had convinced myself he could pull through. Sadly, I was wrong. I am happy though knowing he is no longer in pain. It just hit me hard, much harder than I thought. When I was 12, my family lived with him and his family. It was probably the best year of my childhood. He actually married my DH and me. Although we now live 9 hours away he always was so warm and caring to me. He would Facebook chat with me when he saw I was online. I think I am saddened mostly for my 4 grown cousins who no longer have their dad. He was an awesome dad. He always stood by his kids. I always envied my cousins close relationship with their dad. My own family is not nearly as close.

IMG_1131.JPG

To make things worse, his memorial service is on September 3rd; right in the middle of our trip. My DH being the perfect supporting DH that he is, researched flights, cars, and hotels so I can attend if I want to. I have fought hard with this decision. I so want to go. But that means leaving DH with all three kiddos, spending a good chunk of money, and missing DD’s first Princess breakfast. I have made my head hurt with this decision. After A LOT of thought I have decided for now not to go. I think that’s what my uncle would have wanted. He really was a selfless man. I do plan on going to visit his family later this year.
Sorry to dump all of this on you my loyal pre trip report readers. But I must admit that just typing this up has been good therapy.

So without any further ado, here are our day 7 plans.

For us this will be another Waterpark day, Yay!!!!! We head out for rope drop at Blizzard Beach. Blizzard Beach is our favorite.

wdw_blizzard_beach.jpg

I can’t wait to do the toboggan run with the boys.

300px-Blizzard-beach.jpg

After we bake ourselves at the waterpark we will (after a break of course) head out to the clam bake at the Beach Club. This is DS10’s all-time favorite restaurant. He has already been asking which night is Clam Bake Night.

I can’t believe we only have 5 days left.
