I totally agree. The next best thing to being at Disney is shopping for the next trip. Even better if it's at Target

Do you think your boys will fight you over what to wear? I know your DD probably will, but most boys I know don't really care what they wear!

Wow… I can’t believe we are at the one month to go point. I promised to post plans of day 3, but I have to admit this week I have been better at shopping than planning . Hopefully this week will be full of new updates as my kiddos go back to school on Thursday. I can’t believe summer is over. Half of me is saddened, while the other half knows that means it’s almost time to leave for Disney. I am trying…noticed I said TRYING … not to wish my days away. I know this is DS10’s last year in elementary school. It’s also the last year my boys will ever be in the same school. Okay just thinking about this is making me sad. So, back to my happy place, more Disney shopping and planning and list making.

With every trip to Disney I search message boards, websites and stores for the perfect park bag. I long to spend a carefree day at the park bag free. But since I am the “mom” it makes me the unofficial pack mule. It’s amazing how every child looks to their mother to hold any and every thing. And if any “mom” should lose (or dare I say forget) anything such as happy meal toy, half eaten lollipop, extra diaper. The offending “mom” gets the ”world’s worst mommy” guilt trip for the day. Now you can see the importance of the perfect park bag.

In the past I have tried the much posted about baggallini. I didn’t need diapers for the trip, so it was the perfect size. I loved the pouch on the strap perfect for a credit card, park ticket, and or cash. The rust color my DH ordered was at best okay. The real deal breaker for me was that the strap laid between my b**bs then curved under one Probably wouldn’t have been a big deal if I didn’t have good sized b**bs. Sorry if this is TMI, but I thought you should know.

I also tried a preschool sized Children’s Place Backpack, a drawstring backpack and a Kepling backpack. All of these bags were “OK” but nothing to write home about.

I read about the small Pottery Barn Backpack that some disboards have raved about. I checked Pottery Barns website and I think $40 – 50 is a bit much.
In the end I have decided to purchase this medium sized messenger bag. It’s not quite as wide as a normal sized laptop bag. The bag is from the makers of Swiss Army Knives. It has a fair amount of pockets which I like. What is worrying me though is the bag sitting on my hip. I really don’t need the extra inches on my hip/ bottom. I don’t want to be accidently bumping into people in close quarters like lines. The price of the bag made me decide to give it a try. The MSRP was 39.99 and TJ MAXX had it for 19.99.

I do have to admit that I am secretly longing for a sling strap backpack. So who knows, I may end up with both stay tuned.

I almost forgot, I scored 7 more of those awesome Disney gift cards. I can’t wait to spend the $70 worth of free Disney Store gift cards. Decisions, Decisions!!!

Finally I have gotten around to planning day 3. We are planning to go to Animal Kingdom.

I always feel like AK is about 10 degrees hotter than any other spot in the “world”. It’s probably because all the foliage makes a breeze pretty much impossible. With the heat in mind we will try to make it to rope drop. Now mind you I did say try, no promises. I will try to feel out how DD is handling the trip. I am not opposed to hanging out in the room for DD to rest while everyone else takes off for the park.

Normally once in the park we head straight to K Safaris. This trip we might actually ride Dinosaur and grab some fast passes for E Everest first. Primevil Whirl and Tough to be a bug are going to be in rehab during our trip. I am totally bummed about Tough to be a Bug being closed. I think DD would really enjoy it but at least it gives us an excuse for another trip. Like I need an excuse.

Last trip we finally saw Festival of a Lion King. Can you believe we had never seen it. We were disappointed in the show. I had always heard it was sooo great. The only thing I found great was that it was air conditioned. The show was ok, just nothing to race back to on the next trip. With all that being said (or rather rambled on about) we may still go watch it.
I am really excited to see the Nemo show. Another show we have yet to see. What is funny is that when Tarzan Rocks was in the same spot we never missed it. They enclosed the theater, added air and we never go back, go figure.

To be honest we have yet to make it a full day at AK. Who knows, maybe we will make it a full day this trip, but don’t go and hold your breath. I need you, my readers. Although we don’t ever make it the whole day, we do always stay for a meal. I was hoping to do Yak and Yeti but they were booked. Darn it for booking our trip with less than 180 days to go. So we will try some Flaming Tree BBQ.

When we have our fill of the heat we will head back to the hotel for nap and pool time.

The school runs 200 days instead of the normal 180. I can't complain because its a school that we chose to go to but I still complain. lol We chose the school because of the great teachers so it's worth it. I just try to forget that everyone else is still enjoying summer and that's HARD.

Day 3 Part 2
After we rest up at the hotel we will head over to the Polynesian Resort for dinner at Ohana’s. Here’s a little food porn from a past trip.

And here’s a picture of the festivities. The kids love the games. I would love to sit down for an entire meal.

I’m sure we will all over eat and I am already glad we will only be an easy monorail ride away from the Magic Kingdom. Hopefully we will snatch a good spot for viewing spot for the parade and Wishes.

After wishes we will either take our time returning to our bus spot or catch a cab if we are feeling impatient.

Day 4
I am so excited about this day of our trip. We will be having breakfast with the Princesses at Akershus. DD has not one but two dresses to choose from for this event. She can choose between Cinderella and Ariel. In my opinion she will pick Ariel, but with that girl you never know.

After breakfast we will set off to Future World. Here are a couple of pictures of past trips. I can't believe how much they have grown.

We will definitely do Test Track and Mission Space. DD6 is really looking forward to these rides. Last trip he was too short for both. I love the smile on his face when talking about theses rides. It makes all the saving for this trip worth it.

After some rides we will hang out in Innoventions. I don’t know about anybody else, but I love Innoventions. It doesn’t hurt that its air conditioned either.

At some point we will take a break and head back to the room for our usual break. Although one of us my stay back with the boys to ride more rides.

Hopefully DD will get a good nap and we will head to Tony’s Town Square. I love Italian! So I am excited!! And DD10 will be happy because they have calamari. I swear that boy would eat seafood every meal, every day.

With our tummys nice and full we will hopefully set off to ride some rides. Since we will have already seen the Main Street Electrical Parade and Wishes we will be able to ride a few rides while a lot of people are busy with those things.

For every trip to Disney I made a Trip Binder (although normally I would have it done way before now). Better late than never in my book so here they are. I made one for the in-laws with Donald my DSMIL’s favorite and a Mickey one for me.

Now I just need to get everything printed out and in its proper place in the binder.

I love Ariel too. She is my favorite princess. Cinderella just says Magic Kingdom(heaven to me ) to me Oh to be able to go back in time and be able to dress up like a princess. I guess that's why we have kids, so we can live through them .

Ok I just have to say your kids are sooo cute! And you are so crafty with your binders. Im one of those people that decide to do something like that and I sit down with the paper, glue, confetti, etc and just sit there because Im lacking ideas.

Also wanted to comment about the renting points thing. You will never go back! We used to stay offsite and then switched to renting points. You are going to be absolutely floored by the beauty of AKV. Its an absolute dream! So excited for you!!
