Well I've decided that it's time to become a seller and get shot of all my size 16 and 18 clothes. I am never going back there again, ever!!! I have finally achieved a 14 for the first time in 8+years and still have another 2 sizes to drop but hopefully I can finance my new clothes by selling off the old ones. It's actually a bit of a pain at the minute as I don't want to buy too many new clothes but equally I need something to stand up in that isn't falling off me.

Has anyone else had this problem and how did you overcome it?

Hi elise.

I've got that problem. I went from a size 54 to a size 34/36, so it was a pain in the butt to have clothes in between.

Generally, what I did was to shop sales. I'd buy a size that was comfortable, but was a bit snug. Make sure that it's on sale since you won't be keeping it! :)

I don't think I paid more than $15 for a pair of jeans. Check out the clearance racks at Target and Old Navy.

Elsie, I still have all the old smaller sizes from the last time I lost! But I have a lot of 18s, 1Xs, etc that I need to get rid of. And I have done what Dan said, too. I bought some very snug sizes and now they are fitting nicely. I love fitting into my new and "new" from the closet clothes.

Good luck with the sale. Some people have had good luck on ebay of all places. I guess if you want to sell it, there will be someone who will buy it!

what a result - just sold the first item on buy it now! - the sequined black coat I got married in for a cool £50(only cost £40 in the sale as well!!)

Good for you!!!!
I donated mine. Let me know how you do :)

Great idea :)

Good for you, Elise!!! Sending pixie dust that your old duds are sold lickety split at a hefty profit to you!!! :)

Good for you, Elise!! Ebay is fun and can be addicting...My DH is an ebay junkie!!:p

I've been holding off on doing this too, just fear of something new I guess. I will read through that thread and bit the bullet too!

Congratulations, Elise, for being in a position to get rid of your old clothes.

I have to say I have been very fortunate, I have a weight loss buddy here that is a step ahead of me, so she has been giving me her old clothes as transition clothes, so I have only really bought a couple of things. And I in turn am giving my old clothes to two friends who are back where I once was as transitional clothes because they are losing as well. So it is all working out pretty well. I just feel sorry for the friend that is a step ahead of me because she has no one to give her clothes. :( Also it is hard for anyone over a size 10 (she is now a 14 and I am now a 16) to buy clothing in Italy because the woman here are so, so thin and and Italian large is more like an american small. But in less than two weeks the both of us will be heading to the US, so I say watch out malls, here we come!!

I have purchased all of my transitional clothing on ebay, It's wonderful to get brand name jeans in a smaller size, without spending a fortune! I have been paying roughly 8-10 dollars per pair of jeans, and about 7-12 for blouses and shirts.... :D I even found an exact copy of a dress I had and loved when I was bigger, size 26, in an 18! It should be arriving any day now! It cost me about $70 originally, and this smaller one was about $12!!!!
I love ebay!
