hi

taking my ds 16 year old friend with us on thursday.
Would we need a permission letter from his mother?

Have only just thought about this.

thanks

We have done this before and took a letter just in case - it wasn't needed but my Father-in law took my nephew and was closely questioned. Better be safe than sorry.

We have done this before on 2 separate occasions. We took letters from both sets of parents just in case there was a problem. We also discussed with them what we should do if there were a medical issue.
We were not questioned on either occasion by immigration.
I am 99% sure there is absolutely no requirement to do it though, we did it for peace of mind.

I have read on other sites that people have been questioned when taking another child with them. I think it would be wise to have a letter with you just to be on the safe side.

We took eldest Ds girlfriend with us when they were 16.

We had a letter of permission from her mother which included written authority to act in a medical emergency. The letter was only glanced at , at arrivals but I wouldn't have gone without it. I took photocopies too.

She also had her own insurance.
