We are flying out tomorrow, and have packed snacks & breakfast foods. Has anyone ever checked their snack/breakfast bag?

I don't understand, do you want to take them on the plane or check the food. I have taken snacks on the plane. I will probably be bringing lunchables for lunch and buy dinner at the airport between flights. I am also packing cereal and oatmeal in my luggage for down there.

We will be packing cereal, snacks and juice boxes in our luggage for our trip! I plan to seriously cut down on the amount of clothing we are taking (only there from Mon. to Fri.) and had a reality check from our last visit to Cape Cod in beg. of August. We totally did NOT use all the clothing I packed (me and dd3)...dh didn't pack much, just a few shorts and some polo & t-shirts.

But I am rambling now so I will stop!!! :)

I always tuck cereal boxes, fruit bars, and other snacks in my suitcases. I tend to not put them all in one place, in case something happens to the bag. I even packed bananas last year! We had cheap, good breakfast food and plenty of room for souvenirs when we returned. No problems!

BTW, I *NEVER* pack liquids in my suitcase. It's a no-no (could rupture and damage not only mine, but other people's luggage). If I bring juice or water, it's in a carry-on.

I always use a small suitcase just for snacks and breakfast food. I pack anthing that could make a mess in a zip baggie or a small white garbage bag(which I then use to clean up our mess at the hotel, their garbage bags are never big enough). Then we have an empty suitcase on the way home for anything we buy or dirty clothes or the things that just don't pack they way they did when you went on vacation  I don't take liquids either. And as a side note... if you use the garbage bags, just wrap it around your food, in case your bag is one of the ones the airlines decides to open. They don't like sealed bags that they can't look into(at least at our airport).

I have always packed a couple of drinks and snacks in the carry on for the kids. And then I pack breakfast type foods and snacks in the luggage. We are not big breakfast eaters so its cheaper this way.

The strnagest thing that I packed was a full size pizza LOL. My Aunt lived in Palm Beach area and said that she cant find pizza there that is as good as up north. We bought one that was 1/2 cooked, froze it. Took it out the morning of our departure, wrapped it many newspapers, a couple of garbage bags and of course told them what was inside when we got to the airport. We never had a problem nor searched but then again this was before 9-11
