Taking out the sequel trilogy characters in SWGE?(I doubt it)

I'm sure that at some point they'll change the GE characters. The land itself is generic enough to be the setting for just about any storyline. I can't see it still being the same after twenty years.
Exactly. The designers said as much, although I can't remember where to find the quote. They invented Batuu so that they wouldn't be tied to any of the movies or any of the time periods of the movies.

i'm surprised that the producers of the Mandalorian didn't use the shutdown of Disneyland last year to film an episode within the empty park with Battu as the setting, would've been the perfect chance to integrate both Mando and Grogu into the parks without too much fudging of the timeline

is Battu really that unique compared to tattoine?

Personally I enjoy the sequel trilogy characters and as much as I would love to see the original trilogy characters I'd be super sad to see them go. I think an overhaul is unlikely? But there's some clever ideas on this thread for how the different eras could both be represented in the park at the same time. I hope they'd go with something like that instead of erasing all the newer characters entirely...

All this musing about how to make the storyline work.... you just add in the older characters in. Done.

Disney gave up on the optics of stuff like this longgggg time ago.

No but its a ready made set environment that could tie the land in the Star Wars TV universe going forward and bring Mando and Grogu into the parks and be some huge cross promotion for the land, I remember when Galaxies Edge was initially announced it was originally intended to appear in the sequel trilogy

eventually there will be the next generation that won't have a connection to the land because it never appeared in any of the movies

What? Where on Tattoine do you see trees or anything that could be called a lush environement? This land, props and rides work with the sequel trilogy. This area opened in 2019 and in less than five years only the haters would want an overhaul just for the sake of it. More and more movies and shows will be released with cross-promotion into the park.
The land always had mention of wandering characters tied to the sequels. The only logical overhaul of the area should be the return and improved live entertainment and interactive characters, not to mention squeezing in that 3rd/4th ride.

Ok so having seen Craig’s glorious 3 hour video (seriously I’ve said it a bagillion times Craig you are a genius)-if they were smart since we aren’t that far off from 2027(aka a new hopes 50th anniversary) then they could conceivably switch it up from time to time in the Starcruiser but not necessarily Batuu if that makes sense (and sync star tours to those special cruises!)

Well Star Tours is outside of Batuu and doesn't really exist in that world.... so yeah can do anything there, and does.

And several attractions at WDW allow for "switching it up from time to time" Soaring, Mission Space, Flight of Passage, TSM.. DL Haunting Mansion even use to get makeovers. But these rarely get changed and they don't require the level of change that the two Batuu attraction would require.

Still think the Starcruiser's storyline has to sync with what's going on in Batuu... and both the attraction are built on a specific timeline. I guess they could pull a Star Trek and hit a spatial anomaly that took the ship back in time for short part of the cruise.

Yea changing RotR would be a little harder because of all the set pieces that are ingrained in the sequel era. I feel that Smuggler's Run would be easier as the Millenium Falcon is OT era and Hando spans back to the prequels so would work in any era from the movies. Not sure what exactly around the land would be exclusive to the sequels but would need some new costumes for both. It wouldn't be super simple to do but outside of RotR it should be doable.
I would like to see them do more seasonal overlays on rides too. Stuff like Midway Mania should be so simple to do Halloween and Christmas themed games I'm still surprised it's not been done yet.
