I've been to DL a hundred times. DH and I are taking our son in two weeks. This will be his first time. He's almost 3 ( in August). I am really excited but I don't know what things I can take him on! You'd think I'd know by now. We are going on Saturday...do you think this is a bad idea? I really want to enjoy this without having 2 yr old melt down! SO what rides can he go on?

Don't worry, there are a lot of rides and things to do w/ your 2 year old (too many for me to list each one). Every ride in Fantasyland is OK for that age. Almost everything in Toontown is also good, then... Small World, Autopia, Jungle Cruise, Tiki Room, train around park, car and horse rides down Main Street, Alladin show, and boat around Tom Sawyer's island. There's also the parade and Billy Hill show.

Don't forget to check out and use the child care room just off of Main Street. They have spacious changing tables, and little kid's potties.;)

I'd try to get there as early as you can as lines are much shorter for things like Dumbo and Small World. Have fun!:)

<font color=navy>Are you going the weekend of the 27th? SuperSoaps should be over by then, so the crowds won't be as big (hopefully).

Hmmm, what can't you take him on...

Off the top of my head: Adventureland: Indy Jones, NOS: n/a, forget about Critter Country for now, Frontierland: BTRR, Fantasyland:n/a, Toontown:n/a (I'm pretty sure he can ride Goofy's barnstormer, but not 100% positive), Tomorrowland: Matterhorn, Space Mtn., Star Tours, Main Street:n/a.

I took my rascals when they were that small, and Pirates scared them enough that they refused to go on that ride till they were about 6 years old, each. However, they would go on HM... go figure. I think the dark cave is what they remembered.

Have a lot of fun!

I think the Matterhorn only has a 34" height requirement now, so if you child is willing, they can probably go on.

We took my son when he was 2 weeks shy of his 3rd birthday, and he had a blast. He didn't want to go on the Toontown coaster or the Matterhorn, and I didn't force the issue. He had a bad moment in the Haunted Mansion, before getting in the vehicles, but quickly calmed down with some reassurance.

He loved the fireworks, Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, Dumbo, the Parade of the Stars, the Disneyland Railroad, the Mark Twain Riverboat, and Autopia (with some help of course), but his favorite was the Mad Tea Party. He road it three times (with no "extra" spinning).

As for DCA, they have a Carousel, and he loves the Electrical Parade. But there's not too much else. He went in the Animation attraction, but the only part he really enjoyed is the big lobby that shows the film clips. Blast wasn't there when we were there. There might be a Monsters Inc show (there was a few months ago, but not sure if its still there).

At that age though, the also just like to watch things like the Sun Wheel and Calfornia Screamin, listen to the music, and look at the lights.

and he rode ALMOST everything with the exception of the Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, Only rode the Matterhorn once...scared the living pants off him, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Space Mountain and we went to Honey I Shrunk the Audience and that scared him too! He rode the other rides and after the first time in Pirates screaming his head off he begged to go again and we finally relented and now that is ALL he talks about. When he gets mad at me he tells me he wants to go to DL to live with the Pirates! LOL If only I say! LOL Anyway there are TONS of things your child can ride. The Jungle Cruise, all the things in Tomorrowland like Dumbo, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Mr. Toad, Snow White, Pinocchio, the Tea Cups, Casey Jr. Circus Train, Small World, Storyland Canal Boats, The Gadget and Go Coaster in Toontown, Not sure about Roger Rabbit Cartoon Spin, Goofy's Bounce House, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise (my son loved this one too..thank GOD for grandparents who loved it as well the 300th time as the 1st! LOL) he can do Tarzan's Treehouse, and your 3 Year Old should be able to do Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. ALso there is Autopia where they can drive the car you just have to be in there with them and push the gas pedal, the Matterhorn...there are enough things to keep him busy I am sure!!
We are going again in Sept and my son will be 3 1/2 and it will be a great time to take him!
Have a good time!

Thank you so much you guys! I am so excited now! This is going to be so fun! :D

Sounds similaiar to when we took our DS . We went in April and he turned 3 in August as well. When we went he was 36 inches tall .

Don't know how adventurous your little guy is , but ours wanted to ride everything and was a bit disapointed he couldn't go on some of the bigger rides.

He was able to do the Matterhorn and LOVED it. He was very much into Thomas the Tank at the time and thought they were *troublesome trucks* running away :D

He also went on Goofy's Barnstormer and we had to do that OVER and OVER again

Pirates was also one of his favorites too. But like I said even at two he was more of a thrill seeker.

My younger brother had him primed LONG before we went...my brother likes those roller coaster computer games where you can ride them after you build them and he would put my DS up on his lap from the age of one and teach him to keep his hands up in the air and scream. :D Too this day I still don't think our DS knows that the real ones are *wilder* than the computer ones !!!

Have fun
