Taking DW to Hospital..**Thank You All, Hazel is Home!!! 03-04-03**

I just got off the phone with Hazel, she had a rough first night, but that is to be expected. She will be going for physical therapy this afternoon.

I told her I have a ton of get well messages for her from the DISboards. She is looking forward to reading all of them.

Thanks again one and all!!!

Mr. Mom, LOL!!!

A Thank You Note from Hazel was added to the first page of this thread!!!

Andy,

Sounds like things are going well. Tell Hazel that it won't be long until she'll be sitting on that veranda enjoying the beauty of a day at sea.

Oh, that sounds soooooooooooooooooooooooo nice!!!

Andy...you have NO IDEA how much I thank you for admitting how much mothers do , it's usually an underappreciated job. Gotta say though I have seen fathers doing such a good job too so it's not only mom's, LOL.
Sounds like Hazel is on the right path to recovery, I hope it continues to be that way . {{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}} to all.

Olga

Thanks for the great updates, Andy, glad to hear all went well and looks like Hazel is on the mend again. My continued good wishes for her, and you, while you are taking care of the home front. I bet Angelina will love getting her braces off, another nice moment for all. Take care. :sunny:

Hello there

Sounds like everything there is going really well, great news!

And Hazel - when you get home just resist the urge to try and do anything to put things straight in the house :) I'm sure that wonderful DH and DD of yours will carry on with the Mr Mom routine for a while longer ;)

A continued speedy recovery to you ...take care now.

Now I must unpack and put away from France :( The boring bit of any trip away!

I called Hazel a few minutes ago to let her know that we were on our way up to see her after Angelina gets done her homework. Hazel told me that she is getting a blood transfusion because her blood count dropped quite low, also she has to have an ultra sound done on her liver, something about an elevated count inher liver. Hazel was not quite sure what they meant by that, and I have no idea either. I hope to find out real soon.

Guess what??? It's snowing here again! We only need 3 inches of snow between now and Friday and we will set an all time record for snowfall for the month of February. We might get a significant snowfall from Thursday night into Friday, YEA!!! NOT!!!

I will say a prayer that her blood count returns to normal with the transfusion and that her liver tests reveal nothing serious. I hope she continues to improve quickly.

Ack, I'm sorry to hear about the turn of events there, but I'm sure things will turn around again and you'll once again be posting great updates. Tell Angelina we're not only thinking about her mom, but we're thinking about her too! :) :) :)

Hope to hear a great update soon! :)

Here's hoping that they get everything running smoothly for her again. It's no fun being in a hospital!

I hope that the transfusion helps Hazel a lot! I also hope that the elevated liver count isn't anything to worry about. Continued good thoughts and prayers coming your way. Keep us posted :)

Hope her blood count responds to the transfusion quickly. I hope Hazel can be home with you and Angelina very soon.

My dh has type O, so let us know if there is any way we can help!

Hazel will be having the ultra sound on her liver done on Thursday. So far, it seems as though the one unit of blood is all she needs. Will keep you posted, thanks for the offer. Angelina and I are both type O+ universal donors. I have a 2 gallon pin for blood donations over the years. Hazel has A+ blood type.

We just called her to say goodnight, and she really sounded tired on the phone, I hope she gets a goodnight's sleep. She has had two very rough nights so far. On Friday she will be going to the step-down unit in the hospital, this is where she will have a private room until she comes home. I'm sure she will get more rest there. Her tempature has remained around 100 degrees since Tuesday afternoon.

It's getting late, and I've been up since 5:30am, my eyes are getting a bit blurry, signing off for now.

Lots of prayers and PD for Hazel. Hope you are all able to get some rest tonight.

I've tried, but my mind won't let me fall asleep. Usually I'm a very upbeat person, but this ultra sound thing on Hazel's liver really has me rattled. Luckily I haven't said anything to Angelina about this, she is sleeping like a baby.

I know this is hard on you but you have to try and get some rest. You are no good to Yourself or Hazel if you do not get some rest. Try not to worry.

Don't know how I missed this thread except that I've not been popping in as much lately.
I will keep Hazel in prayer. Please keep us posted.
