Maybe you are like us, and although our normal garbage day is Tuesday, it is Wednesday this week. (And last.)We’ll take down the tree on the 2nd. My husband was hinting that he wanted to do it tomorrow to be able to put it out for garbage day on Tuesday, but he was outvoted.

I went to a friend's house years ago on July 4 and there was a fully-decorated Christmas tree standing in the living room. It was totally brown and didn't have a needle left on it. It was about the strangest sight I've ever seen.
When I asked why the tree was still up, she said, "Oh, I just haven't had time to take it down yet so I just sweep up the needles every day." Mind you, she didn't work and had no children, so I'm not sure how she had time to sweep up needles every day but didn't have time to take the decorations.
I'm just glad nothing died in there. I can see it now: "What is that awful smell?" "Oh, the horse died last month and I just haven't had time to drag it out of the living room!"
I think I would have liked your grandma.Lol this reminds me of my grandmother. She would have granddad cut a tree from their land every year. Well after a bunch of years it got hard to find any kind of cedar and the pines were too big. So one year she had what looked more like a big holly bush (not sure holly is a bush but it had red berries and prickly leaves) and another year it was a small magnolia tree.
The year of the magnolia, when Grandma gathered us kids to dye Easter eggs, the tree was still there, fully decorated for Christmas. We laughed and ribbed grandma about it so she said “ok we will just make it a Easter tree” She didn’t remove the Christmas ornaments, just had us cut out pictures of Easter bunnies and eggs and add them.
For Memorial Day we addded flags.
It became our 1972 tree or whatever year it was.
I am sure the tree was pretty dead and dry by the time Granddad took it down.
They were running several businesses so I guess time really was limited. But grandma had a way of deciding what was and wasn’t a priority that went against a lot of “norms”.

My grandmother was born on Christmas Day. She grew up very poor. All of her siblings got gifts on their birthdays and on Christmas. She only received one gift on Christmas like everyone else because there was no money to spare. It made her sad even as an adult that everyone pretty much dismissed her birthday because it was on Christmas. My husband's sister's birthday is December 14th, so their house was never decorated for Christmas until after that. I grew up decorating for Christmas early because my parents liked to have the house decorated for their anniversary on December 1st.
Fortunately, we have no birthdays near Christmas in our family now, so decorations are up early and remain until after Epiphany.
My birthday cake has always been decorated with Santa's or some other Christmas scene!! A tradition I still hold to this day!!!Yep. Tree is down (although all the decorations boxes haven't made it into the attic yet). I also brought in the two inflatables we have in our outside display (it's supposed to rain in the next couple of days and having to inflate them indoors so they can dry out is a pain). We typically don't run the outside lights after the first of the year, but it takes a few days to get them all down.AAAAAAAAAAAND done!
Much more fun putting it all up.

For those with fake trees how do you store it? We went to a fake tree this year. It is a pre lit tree in three pieces (7 or 8 foot tree). It will never get back in the box it came in. Not sure what to do with it - lol
