I was wondering if anyone had any experiencec on taking the Color wonder finger paints on an airplane? Did security give you any trouble?

My girls got 2 packs for xmas and they watsed to bring them on the plane (we leave this afternoon). I didn't want to take them and get them taken away. Has anyone had any experience with these? Thanks:)

My guess, it would be considered a liquid and would have to fit in 3 oz. bottles in a quart-sized Ziploc bag.
IMHO, I wouldn't bring them on a plane even if security allowed it. My kids would have it everywhere. We brought Play-Doh when ds was 3 1/2. It was a mess but easier to clean up and didn't stain anything.
How old are your kids? Have they flown before?

My kids are 8 and 5. They have used it before on the plane and it wasn't messy at all. they just wiped there hands with a tissue when they were done. I guess I will just leave them home or pack them in the regular checked luggage. Thanks for answering:)

Good question. i have taken the markers everytime we fly. Do they sell those in the gift shops at the airport? That would make me think they are ok. Where do you get them could you exchange them for the marker type?

Maybe you don't know what the Crayola Magic finger paints really are? They're clear and they only turn colors on the special Crayola magic paper. It's like having clear chapstick on your fingers. If you get it on anything, it just wipes right off. It's not really "paint" at all. They have no smell at all and don't stain or color anything other than the special paper.

We traveled with them (and the Crayola Magic markers) in our carry on bag in Oct. and again in Dec. with absolutely not problems. We didn't have to put them in our quart sized baggie or anything.

Yes, you're right!:)
Does the paper have an image already on it that turns colors when the chapstick stuff is put on it? Can they make their own pictures? Sounds really neat!

I figured you were picturing traditional fingerpaints! Those are a mess in your kitchen - I can't imagine them on a plane!! :rotfl:

You can get both. Some of the Crayola Magic pads have pictures on them, kind of like a coloring book. Others are blank and you can paint or draw your own pictures. It's pretty cool! It's all done by the way the "paint" reacts with the paper. So you can stick your finger in the "purple" and in the "blue" and, even though they both look clear on your finger, they react on the paper to make the color they are supposed to. The consistency is like really frim chapstick or something similar, so it doesn't drip, spill, run out of the little tubs, etc.
