Taking a taxi back to the hotel

We are staying at Stovall's and had planned on walking to and from the park, however I hadn't planned on breaking my ankle. At this point I don't know what shape I'll be in or whether I'll be having other medical devices other than my aircast.

I am fairly certain that walking back and forth won't be an option any more. ART is an option of course, but what about taking a taxi? Does anyone know the approximate cost of taking a taxi from West Katella to and from the park? Plus if you've taken a taxi before is it a crazy wait at the taxi stand at the end of the day?

Depending on traffic and tip ou're probably looking at no more than $15. I don't know how mobbed the taxi stands get at the end of the day, but do know that taxis aren't allowed to pick up fares in the drop-off area on Harbor. You'd have to use the DTD or GCH taxi stands (the closest ones.)

Oh really? Hmm. The Yellow cab site says this,"Disney Land Taxis can be hailed from the Disneyland taxicab stand, located just outside the park, right next to Harbor Blvd. Up to four taxis will be on standby at the staging area. Other taxis will pull in as needed. There are plenty of cabs waiting for the closing of Disneyland, just looking for tourists and hotel goers looking for rides back to their hotels."

I'll have to check out distances.

That would be great if the policy has changed. Can anyone familiar with this change chime in on it? For a long time, this was not the case.

It seems to me it was more than a year ago when the 15-minute lot was transformed to [un]loading lanes only - see "G" in the first picture here.
That is where you would gel a taxi on the Harbor Blvd side of DLR (although some cabs illegally pick up elsewhere).

Awesome, thank you for that pic!

I just walked past this load/unload lot on Harbor on 5/22 & 5/23 and there were 3-4 taxis in there every time we walked by. I know because after the 24 hour event I really wanted to get a taxi! LOL. We were staying at the Hilton and it was a long walk but DH thought it was silly to pay for a cab. I think he was regretting that decision about half way back;)

I have had no problem getting a taxi from the unload area on Harbor. I think they just dont want to have a ton of taxis lined up there. Most of the walking distance hotels are a 5-8 dollar cab ride in my experience.

My daughter had quite a bad blister on her foot in that crazy heat a couple of weeks back (mid May) & we grabbed a cab from the Paradise Pier Hotel to the Stovall's Inn. I felt bad asking the cabbie to take on a $5 fare so I gave him a good tip as well but he was more than happy to bring us home! :) I DID overhear a couple ask a cabbie waiting outside of the GCH if he would be willing to take them there as well & he said "No problem".

P.S. I'm not sure if walking to the GCH is an option but I thought I'd throw it out there just in case. And I'm also not sure if this is the case with all cabs or we just happened across 2 who didn't mind?
