Taking a quick trip to the world. I have been there in the past back in 2009 from what I hear lots have changed. We are checking in June 30th checking out July 2nd. Taking a 1st timer 14 year old and doing MK that Thursday and Hollywood studios that Friday, and Universal that Saturday.

Thinking about doing dining plan is Ohana breakfast worth two table services?

I stayed at WL for 7 nights on our last trip this time its between Animal Kingdom savanah view and coronado springs. The price difference is $170 total do you think its worth it?

Am I pretty much screwed because of the new fast pass system and we are only 3 weeks away before leaving?

There are no open ressies for Ohana dinner any inside tips to get reservations?

Im no fool I know we cant do much on these days and this trip isnt really get on every ride focused but rather just bond. Long story short the 14 year old is my son that I have not had contact with ever. I been sending his mom money for years and he is finally old enough and wants to get to know me as I do him.

Good luck with your trip, sounds like a great opportunity for both of you.

O'hana breakfast should only be one credit as should dinner. Dinner at O'hana we loved on our recent trip. Keep checking the ADRs in the app. We changed the time of a few of our reservations the week of.

Same with FP+ - besides princess meet and greets, Soaring and Rockin Roller Coaster we were able to get 4th, 5th FP of popular rides and attractions. Use the time standing in those lines to talk and bond.

I have stayed in both and absolutely loved the AK Savanah view. Coronado springs was nice, but couldn't compare to AKL. We really loved the balcony, and one of the highlights was coming 'home' each night to see 'our' giraffes getting their midnight snack! We could just sit there for hours. Great bonding moment!

I have had great luck getting reservations during the last week or two as this is when most people make their cancellations. If it is really important to you, keep checking even the night before, but try not to worry about the things you miss. You will have a wonderful time regardless of where you eat or which headliners you miss. Personally, I would rather spend 2 more hours in the parks than eat at Ohana, but that is your choice. Don't be afraid to do the goofy stuff--meet Mickey, watch the parade, and take lots of pictures.

Lots of FP are still available, so you'll be able to book some good things. We often change parks the night before and still get decent FP, even early that morning. Ask him what he really wants to see and do, and make maybe 2 or 3 things a priority each day. Everything else is optional based on prevailing conditions (time, weather, lines, hunger, distance, etc.) Decide if you want to 'rope drop' or close the parks down each night, but both might be tough unless you are both used to being active out in 100+ heat for 14 hour days. Tired teens (and parents) get cranky. When in doubt, find air conditioning and food.

Let us know if you have any other specific questions. Otherwise, relax and enjoy your time together!

I wouldn't schedule a breakfast with a teen you don't really know well. Getting them out of bed and someplace on time can sometimes be a challenge.

AK Savanna view provides a balcony with view of animals. Standing (or sitting out on the balcony) provides time for reflect, casual conversation, just chilling out - IF you are going to spend any time in the room when it isn't dark outside. The whole resort is beautiful - and you can often get last minutes reservations at Boma - and that buffet - breakfast or dinner - can fill a 14 yo boy. Now - if you really are just going to sleep at the resort - CS is nice. Nice grounds, nice pool (feels like a deluxe pool at a mod).

You'll be able to get some FP+ -- just get your tickets and start looking. Folks change up their plans and things will become available. And its only 2 of you.

I have stayed at both conarodo springs and animal kingdom I did not like CS because I got lost all the time trying to find my room. I loved AKL so much I wish I could stay there again but disney paid for me to stay there and this is the only resion why I did.

as fair as your breakfast you are going for such a short time I would not wast time on getting up early wasting park time and sleep time to go,

as fair as FP you may have some problems with getting the ones you want just keep looking you never now what will show up, all so they to book FP for just one then see if another time dose not over lap the time. and use touring planes is a great idea.

an another if you have a few hounded extra dollars to spare have you though about a VIP tour not just the privet one but there is the altimet day of thrilles I did this in april and it was so much fun.

We liked Coronado springs better. But you will be there such a short time , I don't particularly see you relaxing at the resort but maybe I'm wrong. For the price difference it probably doesn't matter , animal Kingdom for us was too far out there , and we had to take a bus from One pool to the other . I have not stayed at the beach club and that would make it a lot pricier but that location would be great for your activities . Doesn't matter where you stay just enjoy every minute ! ohana is great but I would say dinner for your teen. Have a great time!!

I think you have received excellent advice here already, especially from DisMommyTX. I just wanted to say congratulations on this new chapter for both of you! What a wonderful opportunity to make memories and start building a relationship. I hope you guys have just the right amount of Pixie Dust, with lots of laughter and quiet moments, too.
