I am debating wether or not to bring my back-pack to the WDW parks. I like to be able to carry around certain things such as water, snacks, etc. My wife on the otherhand doesn't think that I need to bring this b/c I won't be able to take it on some of the rides with me.(any ride that is feet free) What do you think?

We have a small insulated backpack that we take with us everytime. The 4 of us take turns carrying it (it is heavy in the morning with our frozen water bottles). A friend of mine stopped over this morning to borrow it because they are leaving for WDW in the morning. I'd take it!

I would say take a backpack with you, but not too large. Maybe just big enough to fit what you need. Like the previous poster, we use a small backpack to carry around frozen bottles of water, ponchos, etc. Also, I believe a backpack can be taken on all the rides at WDW. Having a backpack just makes it more convenient--you don't have to hold that bottle of water in your hand until you finish it.

Plenty of people take small backpacks with them into the parks. Many of the rides have enough foot space for them, and some even have storage places for small bags under the seats.

hncg57c is correct, though - you should make it a small backpack, the size of a kid's bookbag or smaller. This makes it both easier to carry and easier to take with you on the rides.

Another option is a hikers style waist pack, one of those type with the water bottle holder on the side. These are small and easy to carry, but hold more than a regular waist pack.

A backpack is a GREAT idea! We carry one, my dh and I take turns carrying it, it's a fairly decent size, and for most all of the rides it is able to sit by our feet, we haven't had an issue with it not fitting at all.

With 2 kiddos, there are things we need....too much for a purse or a waist pack and not stuff I want to leave in the stroller, so the backpack makes the most sense for us.

I took a cooler backpack on every major ride in the 4 parks (except ToT). It was a little restricting in RnR and Space Mountain, but worked great otherwise.

We took a small sling bag and then I ended up buying a Disney back pack while we wer there that was bigger. I would carry it for about half the day then the other half I would put it in the locker.

I always take a backpack. I have just a normal "school" sized backpack. There's never been a problem with where to store the backpack on a ride.... if it's a ride where it needs to be secured we have held the strap while it sits on the floorboard or put a foot through the strap.

I have a black back pack that has Goofy on it that I got in MK years ago and we take that every trip and take it on all the rides. We carry everything in there.

I hate lugging stuff around with me, if it can't fit it in my fanny pack or in a shopping bag, it's not coming with me;)

We take a backpack into the parks with our kids. When it was just DH and I though, we shared a fannypack and each of us had one of those little straps for water bottles.

We have a backpack that we take every time.
It is insulated and we put sandwiches, bottles of water, snacks, our room keys, and anything else we want in there.
We wouldn't leave the room without it.
I say take it!

take it, we have been 8 times in 2 yrs DD4 and I, and NEVER have I left that school sized backpack in the room! It goes on every single ride with us cuz its only DD4 and me so theres no one to leave it with, we have no trouble with it at all! Be sure its well labeled with hotel and dates there and name info!:hippie:

I have a small backpack that I tried last trip, and really liked it! Didn't carry it every day, but it was so nice to have the option.

Be sure to check to see that it's comfortable. Once you buy it, take it home and (before you take the tags off), put the things in that you think you'll be carrying around at WDW (water bottle, jackets, ponchos, snacks, etc.). Then put it on again and wear it around for a while. The first one I bought was very uncomfortable (straps dug into my shoulders when I put things in it), but I had great luck with the second one. I hardly notice I have it on!

As other posters have said, just carry it on rides with you. I even had it on Rock n' Roller Coaster -- Just put it on the floor and put my foot through one of the straps. It stayed in place even when we went upside-down!

I used to limit what I carried to a fanny pack with a water bottle holder. On our last trip in Dec. I wanted to take a long sleeved shirt for the kids to put on in the evening so I ended up taking a back pack. I will never go without it again. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was great to be able to take more things with me. I was worried about taking it on some rides, but I never had a problem. I didn't load it down too much so it wouldn't get heavy.

Thank you all so much for your responces. I can't wait to show my DW what everyone has been saying!!!:thumbsup2 I love it when I'm RIGHT!
