Ok to start off we are a family of 4 DH, DD who will be 11 and another DD who will be 13 months. We are traveling with a group of 12 people so I'm not worried about taking her. What I am worried about is forgetting something that we need to take with us. :confused3 Any advice from previous travelers with babies....what would you definitely not leave without?

TIA

  • Diapers - your brand as Disney only has Huggies
  • Bottles/nipples/cleaning soap/cleaning brush
  • Your preferred formula if not nursing still
  • Rice Cereal or Powdered Oatmeal & plastic bowls WITH LIDS & plastic baby spoons (can get at Target)
  • Good Baby Sunscreen - bring stuff you've used in the past as we brought Neutrogena SPF50 and DS9mo had a skin reaction - boy was that fun (not)
  • Pack-n-play for sleeping
  • Baby Tylenol/motrin
  • Special blankie or passie to help her sleep
  • Stroller
  • Hat
  • Baby Snacks
  • Swim Diapers
  • Pampers Bibs (paper foldable)
  • Several of those plastic travel sized wipe holders full of wipes!
  • Disinfecting wipes also
  • Teething tablets

I'm sure there's more - but these are things I can remember we took the last time.

Well a 13 month old would most likely be eating regular foods and off formula (or weaned if nursed) so if you are staying in a resort with a fridge, you might want to consider having a grocery delivery service bring some kid friendly food that you can dice up into little pieces as well as milk.

DD has really sensitive skin so we used Blue Lizard sensitive skin for her at WDW and we found that worked well.

We also bring a couple of disposible ponchos to throw over the stroller. The rain cover that comes with our Mac was no match for Florida rainstorms. The ponch worked a lot better to get the WHOLE stroller and our belongings covered.

We just got back a few days ago from our trip to WDW with our daughter (1). We sent down a box to our resort with some of the following..

Formula
Baby food and juice (they do sell more at the Baby Care Centers)
Extra nipples
Diapers
Wipes
Baby Tylenol
Hyland's Teething Tablets
Baby Orajel
Bibsters
Disposable bowls, cups and spoons
Paper Towels
Dish soap
Cheerios
Extra pacifiers
Resealable baggies
Disposable bags for diapers (scented - good for very bad diapers!)
Baby books and toys
Laundry soap and softener

I know like it sounds a lot but boy did it come in handy to have all that stuff there! And if you need anything while you are there, check the Baby Care Centers. They are amazing! We would take our daughter there every time she needed to be fed or changed. I hope this helps you! Have a wonderful trip! :)

Thanks Everyone this is great information! Keep it coming! I'm so afraid we will forget something. I may just send a box down like one of the previous posters. We aren't going until August so I have plenty of time to figure this out but I'd rather be prepared and making my list early. :yay:

Oh! I forgot that we also brought a stroller raincover and a stroller airline check bag. We were SO happy to have that airline check bag. We couldn't believe how dirty the bag was when we got it back, just imagine what the stroller would have been like. Yuck! Also Clorox wipes are excellent to have. So are hand sanitizers and baby sunblock! And we also found pacifier/toy wipes that are nice to have, just in case that pacifier falls to the ground!

We gate check the stroller so that we have it in the airport. Also make sure you have a rain cover for your stroller, and a blanket if you are there in the fall because it gets cool at night.

We generally get an order from www.gardengrocer.com we order all the ** things from there.

You can request a pack and play at most resorts. I am going to take pack and play sheets just in case to make sure it is clean.:laundy:

Ditto what others have said, aside from bottles and formula. *shrugs* DS was 14 months old when we went and he was off formula/bottles at 13 months.

I would love it if my daughter was already off formula! :) Unfortunately, she still requires it for nutritional purposes and for the fact that she just has the top of one tooth right now! We had to bring nine bottles of formula with us and at $10.00 it wasn't cheap, but we wanted to make sure we had it since it is sometimes hard to find. Plus mailing that box down was a pretty penny, but totally worth it! I added it to my what to bring list since some other families might be in the same boat we are. :)

We just got back with a 12 month old and in general I wished I had taken alot less.

You've already gotten some great advice.

A few favorite items were disposable table covers, disposable bibs, and antibacterial wipes. Yogurt drops were helpful on the bus for a snack and a distraction. I LOVED our Maclaren Volo stroller. A nice camera that was handy to access allowed me to get some great shots. We tried to travel light. DH carried the diaper backpack and I had the camera backpack.

Have a great time!

A good stroller for baby to take naps in, if they have a particular lovie like a blankie/binkie/stuffed animal to go to sleep, bottle or sippy cup, diapers, wipes. That's all I had packed on my stroller really for my little one. I forgot change of clothes everyday, but luckily we never needed one!

Just got back with my 12 month old last week..I overpacked! What I was glad that I had was..
*no throw baby bottle holder...it tied around the stroller and the bottle, so if he dropped it it would not land on the ground. I think it cost around $5.00.
*Sunblock cover for the stoller. I bought at BabysRUS for $15.00. The stroller cover was not long enough to protect his little body..this attached to the top and provided great shade.
*a stoller fan. Bought a white one from BRU and it broke, bought another in the parks and works great.
*SNACKAGEpopcorn::

My son did awesome doing our trip! Have fun on yours!

Use A Babysbestfriend.com for stroller, crib, or just about any other rental for baby you need! We've used them twice when DD was 8 months and 19 mos. and they are fantastic! Easy to work with and everything is at your resort prompt and clean. PM me if you have any other questions. Crib fit well in our POFQ room and was easy to put up and take down.

Oh, those no throw straps are great! I put one on each side of the stroller and we'd attach her cup and a toy. Nothing got lost or dirty. I got mine at Walgreens for about $3.
