"Takeout" food from Epcot?

You do realize that you will be using a day ticket and can only go back to EPCOT on that day unless you have the Hopper. That said, we have stayed at the Beach Club and I went to Yorkshire Fish and Chips (near the side entrance) for carryout for others back at hotel. Of course I did it the easy way - I use an ECV Don't forget all the food choices there at the Boardwalk.

Thanks. Glad to hear from someone who has done it. Something near the IG is what I was thinking. I wouldn't walk to Sunshine Seasons or take a boat back and forth to Mexico. Boardwalk places will be on the list too. Just thinking about options. We have hoppers for every day of our stay, so no worries on the tickets. :thumbsup2

We are staying at BC this trip and are getting a park hopper mainly for this reason. Except we don't plan to take out, we will just eat at Epcot. I'm excited because we don't usually get a park hopper so now I can try lots of the Epcot food!

I've never done true "take out" at Disney, but this was what I was thinking! Great place to eat! Of course, there are a lot in Epcot, but this seems like it would be easy to carry for the trip and it's close to the International Gateway.
France is also nice because they open earlier than the other WS eateries, so we can get our food there in the morning before we drive home. (We have AP's, so we don't mind to go into Epcot just to do this then leave.)

I hope you have fun and your plans work out to your liking! :)

Maybe I'm just fussy, but no way would I eat take out food that took an hour to get to my room once packaged. More true if it is hot and or humid. :crazy2:

Having done this from BC to Epcot it wouldn't take anywhere near an hour to return to the room. It probably took us 30 minutes total walking, ordering and returning.

This is what I was thinking on time. Maybe 15-20 minutes to the room once I've got the food.

Since you're staying at the Yacht Club, there are so many good eateries nearer than EPCOT. You may not realize how far you'd have to walk and how many eateries are closer. I suppose that the Yorkshire Fish Shoppe would be the closest EPCOT eatery, but that involves quite a walk, entrance to the the park though the International Gateway, walking to the Shoppe, back through the IG, and back to YC. Not something I'd do, but ...just look at what is more near. That way you can make an informed decision.

Thanks. I appreciate the comment. I will certainly be mindful of everything nearby, and we will probably be in and out of Epcot through the IG several times before we get to the point of feeling like we want to eat in the room, if we do at all. I won't get food in Epcot to take back to the room until I know what I'm in for. I just needed to know whether I can count on places to have containers and bags. Sounds like that's hit or miss, so I'll be prepared.

One of favorite places to get take out at Epcot when staying at the BC is the Yorkshire County Fish Shop. They have recycled cardboard "trays" that you can use to carry multiple servings. We typically enjoy our meal near the pool at the resort.
This is exactly what we do when we stay at Beach Club. Sometimes we even grab dessert to go from France Bakery to go with our Yorkshire fish and chips:thumbsup2

We have bought some collapsible throw-away Chinese take-out containers that we are taking with us this coming trip, mostly for desserts (we have the DDP and always end up with more desserts than we can eat at one sitting!) We figure this way the food won't get smashed like last time when we used ziplocs :thumbsup2 We have a stroller and an ECV in the party so carrying isn't too big of an issue.

Boardwalk places will be on the list too. Just thinking about options.

Boardwalk to Go has hot dogs, burgers, chicken stuff for a true "to go" feel. And you can stop at Boardwalk Joe's for some drinks to take along (only two per ID) - just sayin' or get something for yourself as a reward for going for the food. The Boardwalk pizza window sells slices and full pies so that's an easy option and, um, the drinks are there as well.

I especially like the "reward" idea. :drinking1

When we had leftovers (pretty much the same size as takeout) from epcot, we were given those Styrofoam clamshells for our food. What we DIDN'T get was a bag to carry them. Awkward! So I recommend taking a large size tote bag that will hold those containers comfortably... You can also bring along small containers and ziplocks, but I'm sure you won't need them!

We do takeout all the time from EPCOT and bring it back to the Beach Club.

Japan has some packaged sushi that works well to bring back. Tangierine Café had takeout containers. We have brought back sandwiches from France, the only issue we had here was they didn't let us takeout the crème brulee dessert because it was too hot that day. We had to settle for the chocolate mouse. Sunshine Seasons was able to package up my favorite salad for me.

I timed the roundtrip from my BC room, to Morocco, back to the room: 30 minutes.

The biggest issue we have had is that these places don't have bags if we are trying to carry several items. Bring your own. The suggestion to bring your own baggies and containers is a great one.

Some fellow guests on the bus from EP to All Star Music awarded me mother of the year when were staying during Tropical Storm Faye. It was pouring rain for days. My son was sick from dehydration. So after a wet day at Hollywood Studios, they went back to the resort, but I took the boat from HS to EPCOT, got dinner at Japan and Morocco, walked to the front of EPCOT with the food and took the bus to ASMu. It was an hour and a half takeout run.

Totally worth it!!!

:goodvibes
