Okay guys this is just sad that so many people are saying the Fort is not what it use to be. Why? Do we have less members? I don't think so. New members? Well then it's time we show them our Disney Christmas spirit!

I'll start:

"I pledge to decorate my site for the holidays.....Mmketeer"

Feel free to add pictures, tips and tricks.

Accomplished 11/20-11/24/13
to be accomplished next year around this time as well!

Discussed this with my wife last night. We are probably changing next years Halloween trip in October, to a first week in December trip instead. I might not be able to decorate the whole place by myself, but my site will carry some lights...

I so solemnly pledge.

Now I just have to GET there between Thanksgiving and Christmas. THAT's the hard part for me. :headache:

Bama Ed

Ed, I'll take the long route and pick you up. Tell work ya got the flu.

I will always decorate my site for the holidays...As every little bit helps, make the fort look magical...and I pledge to do my part....

I will always decorate my site with decorations. Love to put up a blowup or two and some lights. I don't do the over-the-top decorations with lots of blowups but I always put out some lights and decorations. Can't wait to get their next week and see all the decorations at the Fort!!!!!

As with most traditions, new generations of those wanting to take the time to decorate have to surface.
We have over 20 inflatables and multiple lights at our site. This didn't happen overnight !
I was blessed my first Fort trip in 08' to be on the 700 loop. There, I made friends, connections and a Fort Decorator was born.
I spend months preparing. Pre blowing up, making sure lights work. I go so far as to make an electrical grid.
Once parked and nestled in your site, not every family member wants to putz with decorations. I'm blessed to give my husband a tall cool one, comfy chair and he supervises. ( I'm a control freak.) We stay for almost 2 months so I have time to set up and tinker.
Disney is grandiose!
People coming to the Fort often expect grandiose! If all you can do is a few lights then do it!
When I came for the 1st time I had 1 little inflatable and I thought I was the cats behind. Yeah right in the 700's!
Understand the. 700 loop corner may be dark, but there are many still holding the candle high. Don't be afraid to say thanks to those that decorate. Drop a note on their door, share your appreciation.
:D

Thanks for taking pledge everyone!

I hope more Dis'ers continue to do so.

Remember something is always better than nothing!

LOL! I love this idea for a thread! Thanks for starting it!

We will definitely always decorate!!!

Let the tradition continue ... and expand ... ;-)

I am taking the pledge to decorate also next week when we get there. We don't have a lot, but it is our first trip to FW. We have 1 blow up (maybe two), and some lights. We also have a door decoation that lights up. This is all new for us, so we may be a little under-decorated.

We just gifted all of our lights and other decorations to some folks checking in when we were checking out. We overheard the kids saying they wish they had known people decorate! Merry Christmas!!

Blessings to you for blessing someone else with Christmas joy! :thumbsup2
I have tears in my eys right now, that was soooo sweet!

I Pledge!!

This will be our 2nd year at The Fort for Christmas...I'm bringing 6 more Air Blowns than I had last year, and 2 wire lighted trees that I didn't have last year...My hope is that our site is big enough...we were there for our 1st Halloween weekend (before Halloween...couldn't get in at Halloween) and in the 1100 loop, it was nice, but not big enough for all that I have planned....DH just rolls his eyes when I bring home yet 'another' decoration to take with us...THEN there's lights and decorations needed for the Golf Cart! DH packs all the totes to take, I figure out the lighting...Last year it took us 3 hours to put out all our decorations and when night came, and we went "Looping" to see all the lights, ours were 'cute' but pale in comparison to those who come from several hundred miles away hauling their decorations with them.. (we live 90min).

P.S. - most of my Airblowns came from Craigslist for pennies on the dollar...decorations don't have to be "many" or "expensive"...just in the spirit and to make The Fort magical for the kids (and us grown ups too!). :santa:

We pledge to do our part. Have 5 totes packed with lights, etc. Five wire Christmas trees. Sometimes less is more.

We always have our red, white and blue for other then the holidays. You can never have to many Mickeys.

Happy and safe holidays to all.

Love it ArticFox and N02Diver, thank you! :)

Craig'slist huh?...good tip!

We take the pledge to decorate as well. We come around the same time every year and one of the highlights for the hubby is getting the lights set up.

Thank you Bluebird, next year I hope everyone follows your lead so their will be more loops decorated.

PS
I like the picture of your motor coach.

We definitely pledge. This was our 1st time during the Holidays (2nd over all). I have to admit, the wife was way more into it than I was, but once the decorations were up. We decided we'll do our best to stay at the fort every year now. Just AWESOME! Even our DS 16 & DD 20 loved it.

Excellent Jag90! Thanks for sharing your Christmas spirit and here's to next year, let's hope their are no more disappointed loopers!
