Take the Magic away

I know I am new here. As I go and surf the Community Board I expected to find nice, supporting Dis'rs. All I can say is that "wow", some of these posts are so mean and harsh towards OPs it really takes the magic away from thinking that the people on here go to Disney. I know I will get flamed for this, but I don't care. It's the ones who flame that really got me thinking like this!

The CB is a place where anything and everything *within reason* are discussed. I don't know that I've ever seen a board on the internet where everyone is sweet, kind,gentle every second of every day. If one exists I'd sure like to see it.

There are some threads on here that are very harsh but there are others that are very kind. Maybe just lower your expectations a tad and you'll fit in like the rest of us!

Try not to listen to some of the junk that some of the more negative poster say. They are just unhappy by nature and want everyone else to be just as miserable as they are. I will admit that I filter what I post on the CB to avoid the wrath of some of the more unpleasant people here, but there are some really nice people. I hope you run into them soon.

I like the CB the way it is, and I like that people feel free to disagree and tell people when they think they're wrong. I'll admit I skip the majority of the political threads, because they can get pretty nasty, and I know where I stand and don't need someone else telling me why that makes me wrong.

I think here on the community board you find so many diversed topics and some of those topics will bring out very strong opinions that it can and does get ugly. You also find some people who feel that the anonymity of the internet gives them free reign to say whatever and however they like.

Once you are around here longer, you will know what topics not to open and that some posters just have louder opinions than others. I have found wonderful caring support in times that I need it and I have found hilarious people to cheer me up when I feel down and hope I do the same for them.

Welcome to the DIS. It gets addicting.

The CB used to be a friendier place when the Debate Board was around. When the Debate Board was eliminated things got crazy here.

There are mean, opinionated people everywhere in the world and having a Disney board doesn't mean those people are stopped by pixie dust. You're new, you'll learn what threads to avoid if you don't want to be flamed. I like the community board. You will be amazed at the information you can get here. I wanted info on Door Co. Wisconsin, "boom" I had lots of info. Same with the Outer Banks. Or if you're down, someone will come along and make you feel just a little better.

I personally feel the good, kind, caring people at DIS far out weigh the mean people.

You gotta wade through the posts and figure out who/what you need to avoid. With SO many people in such a cramped space, you will never get them all to get along all the time.

Some of the people I disagree with in debates/discussions I really respect and enjoy their posts. Other people I find total PITAes as I'm sure others find me that way.

It is the way any community works.
