Take the Digital or the film camera to WDW

I have 2 cameras. An Olympus Stylus Zoom 180 film camera that takes great quality pictures. I used it on our last WDW trip and all my pictures were great. Or, do I take the Kodak C300 digital (3 mp, I believe) that takes good pictures, but is much lighter with less stuff to carry? If I bring the Olympus, I'll need to bring film, batteries and the camera bag, but if I bring the Kodak I only need to bring extra batteries and the memory cards. The other consideration is the cost aspect. I had over $200 in pictures I had to get developed from our last trip, but with digital I can get a CD made or upload them and have instant gratification. Budget IS a consideration because I haven't added film processing into the budget. Our trip is in June and I don't have the $ to get a new (digital) camera before our trip like I orginally planned. Or should I just take both so DH and I both have one? But which would you suggest using primarily? Any opinions?

I haven't brought my 35 mm camera since I got my digital!

our last trip is the main reason i am going digital...i mostly left my camera( film) in the room as it was just too much to lug( yeah i know, i'm lazy but we are not the "take everything but the sink" types) but now regret not having hardly any photos from the last trip. so maybe if you can take both on the trip but use the better one for "special " photo days ( like maybe it you want something like fireworks, concentrating on "photos" for those days you take it to the parks) but if the digital gets ok pictures, use it for everyday snaps and leave the film one in the room on those days?

Take both.

Put 400-800 speed film in the 35mm and use in it for lower light(indoors) or moving subject shots. Use the digital for all the WELL LIT still subject shots.

I had the same quandary before the trip we just took. The digital point and shoot took excellent daylight/flash shots, but like almost any p & s with a small lens was inadequate in low light. So.... I borrowed a long zoom for my film Rebel G and stocked up on 800 speed film to get the low light and long range my Sony couldn't. I left it behind some days and just shot digital, but took it on Safari and other situations where I thought it would be useful. I think I shot "only" 8 rolls with it, compared to 1500+ digital, but those 8 rolls represent shots which would have been impossible otherwise. I would have liked to get a dSLR before the trip, but it just didn’t happen, so this worked well for me.

Thanks so much for all the advice. Decided to use the film camera for the must have shots, and the digital for candid shots etc. We also plan on using the Photopass CD for the family castle pics at MGm etc and plan on asking the photographer to take a pic with the film camera as well. So we won;t have to take as many pics originall thought. It' so easy to delete the bad pics with the digital so that will help eliminate alot of pics. I don't plan on enlarging any pics larger than a 5x7 so the picture quality shoul be OK. I also wanted to get alot of pics of POP Century and I'll use film for that. Thanks again!!

Yes what he said!
I do the same thing. My 35mm Canon Elan IIe with 400-800 speed film takes waaaaay better low light shots than my Canon a75 digital. Mainly because I can put on my 50mm 1.5 lens onto it. I use the digital for more documentary type shots...standing in front of signs, with characters and such. The 35mm for more artistic shots and wide angle shots.

or buy a 30D and get to shoot from ISO 100 all the way to ISO 3200 at a flick of a button :rolleyes1 wink wink, nudge nudge.

but seriously, I'll go with both and use ISO 800 film and bring the digital for outdoor brightly lit scenes.
