Take Small Children By The Hand....a Sept Trip Report (Baby pics-Page 40)

Congratulations on expecting a boy!!!!!! That is so exciting!
That's too funny about Madison being upset at 1st, I'm sure she'll be excited about having a baby brother soon!
I loved your Christmas holiday update. Is your friend getting married in SC or NY?

Great Epcot day & great pictures of Madison. We missed Living with the Land & I was sad that I missed it.

Thank you! We had told her she couldn't cry at the doctor's office if they told us it was a boy, but that didn't quite work out. By the end of the day, she was starting to get used to it. We've talked to her about the fun things she can show him and my mom talked to her too. She has 5 months to come to terms with it!

My friend is getting married here in NY. Both her and her fiance grew up here and this is where their families live. Her fiance originally got a job in Illinois and he worked there for about a year or more. Then, his company transfered him down to SC last Spring. She moved down there this past July after she finished school.

We just adore Epcot. There is so much to do and see! Living with the Land is always a must, but this was the first time I actually took pics!!! It's nice and relaxing and there is hardly ever a line (whenever we're there).

All caught up! I've been slacking with the holiday, sorry!

First of all, congrats on the boy! Sorry Madison wasn't happy. At least she has awhile to get used to the idea. She was lucky to get to go to the ultrasound though! The place where I got my ultrasounds done is the same place where I see my high-risk pregnancy doctor, so they don't let kids in with you. They know that they find things wrong with the baby and they don't want a little kid in there if they do. So she was lucky, I think it's a great experience!

You were really at Epcot bright and early! I love the empty park! And you got a lot done very quickly!

I really like living with the land. It was better with an actual skipper instead of a recording, but it's still cute. It's a good way to pass the time between soarin rides!

It sounds like a quick walk from the international gateway! Cape May looks so cute! I hope to eat there some day. I love the costumes that the characters wear!

Ariel and Erik! What a great meet n' greet! Cindrella and Prince Charming were right inside the international gateway one time when we were coming through it but when we tried to enter the line, the CM said that it was closed. That happened to us a lot. Luckily, my kids are little so they didn't notice!

Can't wait to hear about the rest of your day!

Aww, I'm sure Madison just needs time to adjust to having a little brother-- maybe it'll be easier for her adjust to not being an only anymore since she'll still be the only princess! One of each is perfect-- I'm sure Tony is thrilled to have a boy to teach baseball to!
The service in the pharmacy was not acceptable! I take a monthly prescrip and have had the same thing happen too many times. Like you said-- for them to pick up the ointment off the shelf and hand it to you would have been simple and not wasted your time! THEN they could have dealt with the other issue!
What a perfect Epcot morning! I love that walk from the IG to YC/BC! We walked it at dusk when we ate at Yachtsman on our last trip-- just beautiful. Can't believe how many Soarin FP's you guys picked up-- I'm glad you were able to ride at least one of your favorites this vacation! Maddie looks so cute in the picture of her and Ariel and Eric-- her top and Ariel's dress match perfectly, lol.

CONGRATS ON THE BABY BOY!!!!

My friend is due in Aug and has a 6 yr old who is not happy about having another sibling. She told her mom (my friend) to not mention anything at her birthday party a few weeks ago because the baby would spoil her party...it will be interesting!!! I guess she was pregnant with twins but lost one of which her DD said "Mom, we don't need two, we really don't need one either but one would be better than two." Yes, things will be interesting for sure!!

I was a total slacker over the holiday break! There was just so much to do and then with 2 sicknesses (24 hour flu bug on the Tues before Christmas and then pink eye), it was not fun.

I was very happy that both Tony & Madison could be at the ultrasound with me. :goodvibes The 3 of us plus the ultrasound tech and a trainee made for a very cramped little room! But, my tech gave us tons of photos and we got a dvd too. I actually have another ultrasound scheduled for the end of March. I guess the placenta is lying low right now, but they said there was no reason to be concerned. Phew!

We have NEVER been first at the turnstiles before! We were the 2nd family the day before at MK, but first was even better!!! It was a gorgeous morning too so it was fun just taking everything in.

We typically do get a lot done quickly. With an 8 yr old, we can really fly around the parks! Our first trip with the baby will definately make us slow down a little bit....maybe.

Now that you mention it, I do remember Living with the Land with a real live person narrating. It was much better that way, but I still enjoy the ride.

The walk to the BC was nice and quick and it's such a beautiful walk. You get a wonderful view of France from there as well. I highly recommend Cape May Cafe for breakfast. I'm sad that I didn't take pics of the actual restaurant because it was decorated so cute!

Meeting Ariel and Eric together was a real treat. We always managed to get into the character lines right before the cut off!!

She is doing much better lately and she got to tell her teachers & friends at school today. When my mom spoke to her the other day, she said "I hear you're still going to be my favorite grand-daughter." I think Madison liked hearing that! Tony is crossing his fingers that our little boy will like baseball. He has already mentioned that he would like to coach his little league team!!

The pharmacy incident was so stupid. While they were checking on the things for the lady ahead of me, the pharmacist could have easily just checked off on mine and gotten me on my way. Ridiculous!!!!

It was a fantastic morning at Epcot. The weather was great too. That walk to the BC just made my day too. It made me want to stay at the YC/BC even more than I already did! Someday!!!

I was very happy that I could still ride Soarin'. It's my all-time favorite. I love the pics of Maddie with Ariel & Eric. I only wish there was a photopass person over there.

Thank you! :goodvibes Oh goodness! What a story. So sad that she lost one of the twins. :sad1: At least with Maddie, she has told us for a few years now that she wanted a little sister. I can't wait to buy her a Big Sister shirt!!

LOVE the updates Meghan! :thumbsup2 I am very glad you enjoyed Cape May! That is on our possible list for August! Nat really wants to "Eat with Minnie" on her bday so it is either Cape May or Chef Mickey's - we want to do a breakfast as we are paying OOP. :) LOVE the pic of Maddie with Ariel and Eric! :cutie:

Congrats on having a boy! I was 3 when my little brother was born. I walked into the room after delivery, took one look, and left. Apparently I was expecting a full grown playmate. I wasn't please

Sounds like a lovely morning at Epcot! I absolutely love breakfast at Cape May Cafe, you hit the nail on the head, it's so relaxing!

EDIT: I forgot to mention, I love my Kindle! Check out www.inkmesh.com for a listing of free Kindle books!!

Thanks Kim! Cape May was great...very beach-y and cute. It's definately a great place to eat with Minnie! :goodvibes

Aw, thanks. Maddie's tank really did match Ariel's dress quite nicely.

Thank you! That is too funny about when you're brother was born. I was almost 7 yrs old when my little sister was born. About a week after she was home, I asked my parents when we could return her to the hospital!!!

It was a wonderful morning at Epcot and our breakfast was great too. I would definately eat there again.

Another Kindle lover!!! I will have to check out that link. Thanks!

I know I already told you on FB but congrats on the baby boy Meghan! :)

What a great update. You are like me, collect those Soarin' fastpasses! It is such a wonderful ride. I'm still glad it's something you can do while pregnant. I always hear excellent things about Cape May. It looks like lots of fun in a pretty atmosphere!

Congrats on the boy. I feel for Madison. My DD Paige has 1 older brother (mine) and 2 younger brothers at her dads house. When I was pregnant she prayed and prayed for a girl! Luckoly Claire was a girl. LOL!

Thanks again!

We had quite the collection of Soarin' FP's for awhile...it was awesome! I was very happy I could still ride my favorite ride on this past trip.

We were originally planning on dinner at Cape May, but we're not real big on dinner buffets. Maybe we'll be brave and try it next time??

Thanks! I had a bit of a breakdown today. It hit me that my little girl is growing up so fast. There won't be anymore frilly little dresses, hairbows, Princess gowns, etc. I just broke down into hysterical tears. I was a complete and utter mess. This will be our last child and I think my older sis & BIL have either put off having kids altogether or are waiting awhile still. My little sis is only 21 and won't be having kids for a long time. I don't know when I'll get a chance to buy cutesy little girly things again.

Hi Meghan, all caught up...

I agree with you that VOTLM could be updated and a bit of modern sparkle introduced but at the same time my BF loved it! he's a really big and very secret little mermaid fan though, he's the only boy with 3 sisters, maybe he didn't have a choice!!!

I loved Beauty and the Beast but like you say the Heat was immense and we were stuck beside two annoying whiny sisters and a mum that didn't pay them attention until things really got ugly and then came in with pretty unfair decisions...but that isn't Disney's fault :rotfl:

Glad you enjoyed Fantasmic, and I'm going to remember the idea for bringing some food in to nibble on to pass the time :goodvibes

You got a lot of fastpasses on your Epcot day, I feel so content when carrying multiple fastpasses!!!:cool1:, love the Spaceship Earth photo's! I was so sweaty from our trek round worldshowcase in July that our SE photo was just embarrassing!

And Happy new Year to you and your family! and congratulations on a baby boy! Poor Madison must've been really building up for a sister! but your right she's got a few mths to get acclimatised...

So glad you had a chance to catch up! DHS is definately not my favorite park, but we love TSMM and Tony and I adore RNRC and ToT (and I couldn't ride the last 2 in Sept). I can now add Beauty and the Beast to the list of "likes" at DHS.

I loved having so many FP's for Soarin'! It made me feel so special. :goodvibes I wasn't real happy with how my SE pics came out, but I just had to take a pic of Maddie!!! So funny!

Thank you! The new year has been uneventful so far, but that's sure to change! Lots to do over the next few months!!!!

Awwww...once again congrats on having a boy!! Glad Madison warmed up to the idea LOL (you knew she was, she is going to be a great big sister)!!!

Love your EPCOT morning and what great photos from Cape May!!! YAY!!!!!!

Can't wait to hear more!

Thanks Jen! Maddie is still very excited about being a big sister and I know she's going to be awesome.

Mornings at Epcot are fantastic! I wish I was back there right now.

:hug::hug::hug::hug:
Poor thing! I remember that feeling when we found out Keaton was a boy-I was sure #2 would be a girl, and we had TONS of adorable girl stuff from my neices (my BIL had been a Mgr at both KidsRUs and Gap). I still thought maybe we'd try for #3 until Keaton ended up being so darned high-maintenance :rolleyes1. Needless to say, all the baby stuff is out of my house! :rotfl2:

It was a rough day emotionally for me yesterday...darn hormones!! I had a big meltdown last night too. Another thing....they need to stop with the emotional commercials on TLC. They turn me into a sobbing mess!!! Anyways....we are definately done after this baby. I loved having 2 sisters, but being outnumbered by kids terrifies me!!!

I have to tell you, that I finally ordered the Guide to the Magic book you always talk about. I can't wait to get it. (how long did yours take to come after you ordered?)
I am not sure if I will give it to Claire right away or wait and give it to her before we leave so she can look at it on the plane. Of course I might be more excited about it than her. LOL!

Yea! It is a fantastic book for kids. She is going to love it! I don't remember it taking very long to come in the mail. You'll have to let me know what you guys think of it!
