i reviewed the menu for cafe orleans...and besides the pomme frites and the monte cristo that i really, really wanna try, i don't see anything else that would be appealing to my very picky DH and very picky DD3.

so is it even possible to do a "take out" order?! i'm thinking "no", but i figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. :confused3

Unfortunately, none of the Disneyland Resort Table Service Restaurants are equipped for Take-Away Service outside of boxing up leftovers.

If you ask at the counter, they may try to accomodate if it isn't too busy, but otherwise, no.

*sigh*...that's what i figured. oh well....i guess the pomme fritas and monte cristo will have to wait...

that's for responding, glendalais!

If you aren't terribly crunched for time, you can always just sit in and ask for a take out box after you receive your food. If I remember correctly, they CMs will even box it for you.

Maybe they can go ride while you eat??? Or what if DH just had a salad? and DD had the mac and cheese? My DD2 loved their mac and cheese and ate every last drop. Good luck and I hope you get to eat it!!!

yay! i don't have to cancel my cafe orleans ressies for this friday at 6pm! pommes frites and monte cristo, here i come!

i showed DH the menu for cafe orleans. i told him upfront that i figured he probably wouldn't be able to find something on the menu, but that i wanted him to look at it. before he saw the menu, he said "you know, i can always pick thru a menu". i'm thinking "yeah, right". anyways, he looks at the menu...the entree part of the dinner menu...and scrolls down...scrolls down so far that he reaches the children's menu. then he scrolls back up and says "is this it?!". LOL! he asks me what i would get and i told him "the pommes frites and the monte cristo". he reads the description for the monte cristo and you can tell there is no interest in trying it. then he looks at the kids menu and says "can i order 2 of the salmon fillet entrees from the kid's menu?!". :rotfl2:

anyhow, he looked at the dinner entree choices again and finally said that he would order the French Quater Blackened Chicken Caesar. has anyone had the chicken caesar from cafe orleans? feedback on that entree? and yes, i would get the mickey's cheesy macaroni for my DDs to share.

we'll probably just take our time with dinner...walk around new orleans square and then head back to main street around 8:45pm to get a spot to (hopefully) watch the fireworks show at 9:25pm. probably get a sweet treat or something to drink from the candy store/refreshment corner while we are waiting...

DH is very picky and that's what he gets everytime we go. It's good! Here is a pic from Friday:

When DH and I went we both had the chicken sandwhich:

and the pommes frites (did I spell that right, can't remember! )

Next time I'll just skip a main entree and get the PFs and the beignets and call it a meal. :rotfl: That picture was only half the sandwhich. It was huge and came with a salad. I was stuffed! If you have a child who can't find anything to eat there, I'd let him have some fries and pick up something else later for him.

I've been wishing for a take out window too! When we were there we did see people getting the beignets in a to go box after the meal to take with them.

Actually, your DH may be happy to know that YES he can order from the kids menu!! It's double the food for double the price so if he wants the salmon tell him to get it. Enjoy your CO meal!! :)
