Hi!

About a month ago overplanning little ol' me took some notes from a post I saw about getting Take Out at Trails End. The lady posted that she of course paid for her meal (can't remember if it was lunch or dinner) and that they gave her a ton of containers to fill up and take back to her cabin.

Has anyone done this? She said she had PLENTY for her fam of four.

Is it available for all meals, and do they give you a dessert container too?

Thanks for any replies :)
Can't wait can't wait can't wait!

In general, there is no takeout at buffets. I cant speak for Trails End because Ive never been there. I do know of Asian buffets that provide takeout, you take as many containers and pay by the pound for what you take, similar to a salad bar. There are sometimes surcharges for premium items such as prime rib or crab legs.

I cant see why anyone would have the expectation to pay for one takeout meal and be able to haul home enough food for a family of 4. I am in the restaurant business and can tell you that it is abuses like these that contribute to rising prices. All you can eat means all you can eat there, not all you can haul home.

If you cant afford a place, dont try and get around the system. There are plenty of good restaurants in all price ranges.

Let me give you a helpful response: Last summer we did the takeout at Trail's End. We paid the price and got two containers per person--a large divided one and a small salad container. We filled them up and split it among several of us in the motorhome. We had leftovers in the motorhome to supplement.

FW does not have very many desserts--usually only a cobbler or two.

Have fun planning!

Didn't mean to be abusive. I figured that Dinsey controls the amount of food you're alotted to by controling the amount of containers you're given. :)

Thanks for your reply, Campingcorgi!
Was that for lunch or dinner?

Pretty sure it was lunch time--we almost always get a late lunch instead of dinner.

I figure the take-out is a good deal for Disney because you can't get seconds!:p
