TAKE ME TO MY HAPPY PLACE! September 2014 PTR

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been MIA. Not much planning going on. Looks like Southwest and Airtran won't be releasing September fares until March so I still can't book airfare. DH did get is vacation approved so that's a good thing! ADR's are coming up mid-March. Have to sit with the family to discuss. DH has been working crazy overtime hours so we don't get to really talk much when he gets home.

The Diet isn't going too well either. Gained the past 2 weeks. Less than 2 pounds but it's still gaining instead of losing. Tried exercising last week. Went 3 times...now I have no urge to go this week. Story of my life.

DH told me last week he wanted to move to Florida. If I wasn't such a homebody, I think I would. I just can't see leaving my family behind. I know my parents and his are going to need us as they enter their 60's. I could see us being "snow birds" when we retire, though. Live in Florida during the winter and come home to Indiana in the summer. I guess I have another 30 years to figure it out! LOL!

Hi!! I hope it's ok for me to follow along. Were also going in September (9/20-9/27). We also have a cruise on May and I have a lot of weight to lose so I'm with you on that! About 45 or so pounds. I had a baby in November and also had about 30 I could have lost before :(. I'm the same with making progress and slacking off so I need that under control!! Excited to hear all your planning!

your not going anywhere.. Nice try...

during this winter no one wants to do a dang thing when they get home from work.. I know i don't.. :snooty:

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Today is my 7 month mark!! Whoo Hoo!! Joe got me the cutest VDay card--had Mickey and Minnie on the front and something inside about me being his "Happy Place" which was perfect because I call Disney my "Happy Place". Brought a tear to my eye knowing he knows me so well :)

We started discussing ADR's the other day and it didn't go as well as I thought. We want to try new places but I guess there is a reason we keep doing the same places...we can't find anything knew we really want to do! Here are some of our thoughts...

Day 1: Epcot: Via Napoli for dinner
Day 2: AK: Boma for breakfast or Yak and Yeti for lunch?
Day 3: MK: Libetry Tree for dinner
Day 4: HS: Cape May Cafe at hotel before we head to HS
Day 5: ???? Most likely head back to Epcot
Day 6: MK: Kona Cafe for breakfast

I want this trip to be as laid back as possible. I just want to wander the parks and get some pool time in. The ADR's make that hard sometimes. We have about a month to figure it all out. Hopefully park hours and flights come out soon! Might have to drive this year if airfare is over $1500--that's Joe's absolute limit! LOL!

I think your ADRs look great!

We have never done Boma for breakfast - but I have heard that they have one of the best. We always do Tusker HOuse on our AK day for an early morning breakfast... Like MK - there is nothing better than being able to walk through an empty AK to start off your morning in the parks! :thumbsup2

LTT is also a must do for us - but for us it's lunch there. We LOVE (love, love) the freedom pasta... Unfortunately, if we happen to snag an adr there for this next trip, I will have to find something else to eat, since I no longer eat wheat (including pasta).... Soooo sad for me.

We have not done Via Napoli, Cape May for breakfast (we've done dinner there), or Kona... Kona is on my list of must-dos some day, but it seems that we never make it there, as the girls love to visit Stitch at O'hana... And now that the GCH is being refurbed, who knows if it will still be there? I sure hope so!

Great update!

D~

Bah Humbug on your Valentines day.

I like your ADR's!!! Something new i like it!!!

did you see they will have NEW MUGS?!?! I am STOKED!

Poly... I don't know what to say about this right now... leaning on moving to another resort...

Hello everyone! Sorry I kinda suck at this whole PTR thing :guilty: Things have been pretty busy in my household. Basketball has finally ended. My son's team took 3rd place in the "B" tournament. Baseball is about to start. I have to get my equipment in order by March 22.

My DS Joey turned 9 yesterday! Had the family over for tacos! It was a good time. DS got an iPod so he is in heaven! Can't believe he is 9 already! Time goes by so fast!

As for Disney, we booked our air last week. $139 each way. Not great but not terrible. I guess the days of $69 each way are long gone.

ADR's are a week from tomorrow. Just need to finalize a few things but I think we have a general idea.

I hope everyone is doing well!!

Hello! Well Tuesday was my ADR day and we got everything!!! Yippie!!

Sunday: Dinner at Via Napoli
Monday: Breakfast at Tusker House
Tuesday: Dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern
Wednesday: Breakfast at Cape May Cafe
Thursday: Dinner at Garden Grill
Friday: Breakfast at Kona

Only 2 repeats: Tusker and Liberty Tree and LT was new to us last trip so it's only our 2nd time going. Tusker has become a favorite but very excited to try new places this time.

All went well with air too so this is trip is set! Since we booked a bounceback with free dining, we don't have to wait anxiously to see if it's released to the GP so all anxiety is over now!

So, totally random, I decided to take my love of Disney and traveling and try to be a Travel Agent on the side :) I am super excited and will keep everyone posted!

Congratulations! That will be such a fun side job to have, many of my friends do it and they love it! :thumbsup2

Hi. I came over from Mo's PTR. We are going in September also, but are leaving on the 7th. Your fp day should have been here or coming up. How did it go?

How does one become a Disney Travel Agent? Sounds fun.

We stayed at Beach Club last year. First time trip and decided to go for it. It was nice to be close to Epcot and DHS. We are saving money this trip, so Pop it is. We liked Beach Club, but I don't have a real desire to go back. There are too many others I would like to try before deciding on a Disney "home".

I am going to try the summer dress idea this year (as long as I can find some cheap ones and the compression shorts).

Hi! And thanks for coming over to visit!!

FP+ is Wednesday. Honestly, I haven't given it much thought. We always go this time in September and have rarely used FP so I can't see the need to use FP+ for everything. Def going to try and get Mine Train and Toy Story. Other than that, I am confident the lines won't be long.

Regarding the Travel Agent position, I am working with an established Travel Agent in my area. She is training me and allowed me to use the Agency ARC number. This allowed me to take the Disney College of Knowledge course.

We are excited to try Beach Club--I think it will feel like "home" to our family but ya never know!

I need to get some new summer dresses. I was hoping to lose some weight first but it's getting pretty close to my trip and summer clothes won't be out much longer!

I am starting to get my Disney Anxiety! The trip is 58 days away! It's not bad anxiety, it's more like "get here already" anxiety!

Meals, FP+ and online check in are all done. Just booked our limo to/from the airport this morning. Really all that's left is some travel products and maybe some new outfits. Lost 5 pounds this week. Only on day 3 of wholeheartedly working on what I eat. Hoping to lose 10-15 pounds which at 2 pounds a week is actually doable.

Kids go back to school in 4 weeks so I have to start school supply shopping on top of Disney shopping. Well, 1 trip to Meijer or Walmart and I can probably get it all done in one shot! Also want to hit the Dollar Store as they usually have cute Disney stuff to pack like Disney pocket Kleenex and wipes.

Baseball is finally done and we actually have the next 3 weekends open! Hoping to so some fun family activities. Wanted to go to the beach this weekend but it's only going to be 80--not sure if that's warm enough since it's been colder the past few days. I hate going in cold water!

Almost forgot that I need to make my Mousekeeping Envelopes! I like to have them made and pre-filled so all we do is pull one out every morning before we head out.

I just want this trip to be special. It's our first trip to Disney that it's just the 4 of us. We have always had a wonderful time traveling with friends and family but I think we need a trip where it's just us. This could also be our last trip to Disney for a while and I just want it to be as magical as possible! Hopefully I am not putting too much pressure and end up disappointed.
