take hwy 407 or not...

Hi I am going to Rochester from Mississauga(near Square one) tomorrow.

Now i know hwy 407 cannot take me all the way to the US border, it only goes as far as hitting QEW
but in the case like tomorrow (long weekend) do you think hwy 407 still helps a lot?


Because i live near square one, i either have to take 403 west first and then hit 407 or i do it slow way, drive mavis road north and hit 407 west.

( I am aware of the accident on skyway, which only affects toronto-bound traffic )

the traffic you will hit will be in Hamilton and beyond -- just go down Hurontario to the QEW -- or take the 403 -- skip the 407.

I would listen to the traffic reports on 1010 or 680 etc just before you go and then if for some reason the QEW is blocked up then you can take the 407 route but on a weekend you should be fine to just go along the QEW as the previous poster mentioned
