Take Flight ?

It's been about 7 years since I last went to Disney World, and I'm going again in three weeks. I remember a ride at Magic Kingdom (I THINK) called Take Flight. That was a pretty neat ride, but I can't seem to find it at the moment on Disney's website. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place, but is the ride still there?

Hmmm, can you describe where about in MK you think it was located, and what the ride was like. I'll bet you get some good leads if you can recall the location. Hope someone can help. Good Luck!

I hate to tell you this...but it is no longer there! I loved that ride too! I heard that they closed the ride when they lost their sponsor. In it's place now is Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin.

This is an your answer: In June of 1987, If You Had Wings closed after Eastern airlines pulled it's sponsorship of the ride. Just a few days later, the ride reopened with no references to Easter or the familiar theme song as "f You Could Fly."
"If You Had Wings", a free attrcation back when counpon books were still being used, opened in June 1972 and went through numerous changes before it closed for good in January, 1998. After being known as "If You Had Wings," it became "If You Could Fly," "Dream Flight" and finally "Take Flight."

My DH and I went on "If you had wings" in September 1973 on our honeymoon. It was one of our favorite attractions. My first trip to WDW and I was hooked. This September will be my 12th visit. Wouldn't it be fun to go on it again? But the memory is probably better than the real thing. I would imagine it would seem very outdated today. But thanks for reminding me of a very magical visit!
