I love the Monorail! I made the comment to my DW that it still smelled the same as it did in the 70's. She said it smells like a Band-aid. So now we lovingly call it riding old band-aid! Has anyone else noticed this?

Don't get me wrong I don't think it smells bad just kind of used and antiseptic and plastic mixed together.

Scents are very closely tied to WDW for me. My favorite is the smell of dark ride water...think POTC, Maelstrom, Small World...just that wonderful, sweet motorized water smell.

It's not that bad. Like I said before I think it smells exactly like it did in 1972 on my first visit. I kind of like it. The smell is part of the magic for me.

I wonder if they sell Old Band-Aid cologne at WDW?

I love riding "old band-aid" too... and my favorite color is BLUE.

I really enjoy riding from TTC to Epcot and back again. On non-park days, sometimes we will go over to just ride the old band-aid around SSL and then over to Epcot and back.

My favorite experience with it, though, has to be when stayed at GF and at Poly - simply because it's right there, of course!!!

I love riding up in front. I took each of my boys on separate father/son weekends a few years ago, and made a point of sitting up front with them. We had a great time. It is such a cool experience up front!

The monrails smell like the rental room at a skating rink!!! However, smelly or not, they are GREAT!!!!!

I don't really associate a particular smell with the monorail.

The best monorail story is not mine, I read it on the boards. A family is sitting in the monorail, and this lady is sitting across from them. She looks like any normal person, until she opens her purse and pulls our a baked potato and just starts eating it. I mean a gigantic whole baked potato, and she is eating it like a pickle.

The family took a picture of her eating it and posted it. It was hilarious.
