Scents are very closely tied to WDW for me. My favorite is the smell of dark ride water...think POTC, Maelstrom, Small World...just that wonderful, sweet motorized water smell.

Mmmm, love that smell!

I would have to agree with someone else & say they smell like a locker room.

I don't really associate a particular smell with the monorail.

The best monorail story is not mine, I read it on the boards. A family is sitting in the monorail, and this lady is sitting across from them. She looks like any normal person, until she opens her purse and pulls our a baked potato and just starts eating it. I mean a gigantic whole baked potato, and she is eating it like a pickle.

The family took a picture of her eating it and posted it. It was hilarious.

Loading up on carbs for a long day at the Magic kingdom!! Maybe old band-aid smell is really baked potato smell?

im not sure on what they smell like, but i am sure of one thing, they smell alot better in the morning than they do in the evening. Thats why we ride monorail to the park and ferryboat back in the evening.

Same, whenever im on a dark ride with water, i always love to get that smell. I think the monorails all smell the same, sometimes i even think the smell great...in the mornings.

It is my dream to be standing on the monorail platform and have a family walk up and call it Old Band-Aid. That would complete the six degree cycle for me. I am not sure that is a good thing it may violate some kind of time space continuum and when I hear them say Old Band-Aid I my cease to exist.

I don't think they all smell. Last time we got two that smelled liked cow barn and none of the others smelled at all. However, it seems that if you do get one that smells....it REALLY smells.

Oh, I love the smells of Disney. They really should find a way to package them and sell them as a souvenir.

We'd buy them, for sure! It's getting fewer and farther between the times we catch a whif of something back home that reminds us of The World....

I MUST agree with the skating rink skate room smell - that is exactly the essence I get when I take in the air on "old band-aid". This thread is hilarious! And even though I didn't vote "old band-aid", the monorail will forever be known as such for me now!

I voted for "urine" because the last time we rode we all commented that it smelled like a dirty restroom. Not sure what it is.....probably mildew.

This is so funny!!! I remember when riding in the monorail the last trip, I asked my sister if she thought it smelled like pee, cause I did!!!
