I'm back, tail between my legs. No, I haven't regained all 100 pounds I had lost in 2001-2002, but I have gained back about 40, and that's very troubling. I'm intend on turning back onto the high road right now.

I'm again joined by my wife on this endeavor, who gained back about half of the 63 pounds she lost in 2001-2002. I know how much of an advantage that gives us -- I feel so lucky. We're doing Nutrisystem this time, rather than HMR, because of the convenience. We're very much stretched for time, and need to expend whatever time and energy we have for this on exercise, not nutrition.

If anyone know of specific threads or resources for Nutrisystem, specifically, I'd like some pointers. To be honest, I feel that the "system" is lacking.... it seems like there is no difference between the "Woman's Silver" program and the Men's regular program (same food choices), so something seems strange about that.

It is indeed a great thing to have a partner in good health! Welcome back to the both of you!

Bicker! I am so glad to see you here! I have always been so impressed about what you and your DW were able to accomplish some years back and I have full confidence that you can do it again. You seem like a very motivated person and one who can definitely set his mind to doing something!

I have never done Nutrisystem (what is HMR?), but I have always been intrigued by the print ads and everything else. I am doing WW now, but if it was just DH and me (and no kids left here at home) I think that something like NS would be great. No worries about meal planning, etc.

Best of luck to you and DW. It will be nice to see you around this board and not have to worry about what I say around you. ;) :teeth:

:)

HMR is Health Management Resources: http://hmrprogram.com

We're looking at Nutrisystem just the way you suggested: As a way to eliminate the work involved in meal planning -- nothing more. If there is anything our earlier experience has taught us, it is that there is no program to lose weight. Programs do little more than make the hard work of losing weight a little less time-consuming. In the end, losing weight (or not) is all on us.

I just wanted to share my NS success story. I started in April 2005 at 200 lbs. and by October 2005, I was down to 135. I have kept the weight off since then. I was even invited by NS to come to Philadelphia for a photo shoot. They had 20 people (nationwide) come for 3 days for the shoot. Here are my before and after pics. They've been used on QVC and in various print ads. You can also find them in the "Success Stories" section on the NS website.

Wow! That's wonderful! Congratulations!

I just wanted to say welcome back! I too have returned after me and my DH lost 159 pounds together. I lost 109 and he lost 50. He has gained back half and I gained back about 35 pounds. It was difficult to come here and admit it and of course admitting it to myself was the hardest part but when my clothes no longer fit, I couldn't deny it any longer.

I wish you and your wife much success. I'm sure the 4 of us can get back on track. I am back to working out twice per day (three times today as a matter of fact) and I'm down about 5 pounds since I got serious on March 5. We can all do this!!!!!
