Actually, there is no virus in it, your software is set to look basically just for this file. for it to be a virus it would need to replicate itself and do things. this is just a program which the person who wrote your virus scanner thought was enough of an annoyance that they made a rule specifically for. Spyware attaches to your system and modifies where your browser goes, or changes your search engine settings, or sends back information from your machine. Smiley Central installs spyware on your computer. The reason Spyware is someteimes called a Legal Virus is that since they tell you up front what they are doing, and get you to click OK, the virus companies (either from a law suit or from fear of a lawsuit) do not detect it. Another key difference between Spy-Ware and a virus is that Spyware does not replicate itself outside of your computer. Most Virusses send copies of themselves out to your friends in your address book.

Additionally, if you open the Mcafee link I supplied earlier, it says several times on the page that this file is not a virus.

Virus Characteristics

"Rabbit joke" is neither a virus nor a trojan. It is a detection of the "program" type (under which non-malicious but sometimes unwanted objects are detected).
When run, this program plays a sound file on the speaker which says "Hey everybody, I'm watching porno over here", then displays a message box with the title "GOTCHA!" and the text "HAVE A NICE DAY!"

The detection of this type of files is not automatically activated.
Users who would like to check for the presence of this kind of files on their system should run the command line scanner with the /PROGRAM switch.
Please note that VirusScan 7 has also an option, which enables users to detect this kind of program automatically (see below).
This type of detection also exists within e250/e500 Webshield filtering devices.

The owner of the computer repair shop that fixed my computer back in the winter set up the virus protection software. It's exactly the way I would want it set up. DH don't know nothin' about nothin'.

I usually don't click on any links for jokes, chain letters, etc. Since it was coming from your house, I assumed this one would be fine. Whether it is or isn't, I shouldn't have taken the chance. NBD, everything is fine now.

Announcement!!!!

As some of you are probably aware..

I am leaving on vacation tomorrow...!!!!

But first, the boys and I have to train it downtown and pick up my paycheckand COMMISSION .. and to verify that they did it right..

so I have $$$ for the vacation..


Then we will take a stop at Ghiradellis for HUGE ice cream sundaes and to load on LOTS of Chocolate to fortify us for the 20 hour drive to WDW>>

So tonight I have a Boy Scout Committee meeting, then packing, and then tomorrow when DH gets home from work .. we leave!!

Alright...was gonna post that maybe [COLOR=FF66CC]llebrekniT[/COLOR]'s computer detected that the download was trying to mess with her computer's controls.....as I know I have seen that as an option in some virus scanning programs...but I see you all have figured it out, apologized, and moved on!

Deadheadbelle We check into AKL on Saturday July 3, then move to BCV for the first week and OKW for the 2nd week. We are meeting the Zurgs and other DISers at MK on the 8th..
Chef Mickey's on the 4th for dinner..
LOTS of time eating the IMPORTANT Food Group at Beaches and Cream.. and that does not include sandwiches or salads.. ..

geffric I have to admit I AM JEALOUS!! The BCV is my favourite Disney location We stayed in a 2 bedroomed villa last year and loved it. We won't be back there until at least christmas 2005

ibouncetoo here, we could do the first seating at lunch which is about 1130am.....we'd be trading in breakfast lasagna for fried chicken (a real hardship for me ) Though I've never done breakfast there.

Now, let's all apply even more pressure for RickinNY to change his trip dates
