seeeee still begging for tags! heheheheh

I've got "Soccer on the Brain" lately and am so happy to hear of such wonderful players here on our island:

Cheeringmom Congrats to Tom for making the ALL STAR TEAM! :cheer2: I know you are proud....You must have quite a large trophy cabinet at your house! ::yes::

Deadheadbelle Congrats to your DSIL and DBIL for their great soccer careers...must have been exciting watching them play!:teeth:

And speaking of soccer, and Jordan's Challenge tryouts, I've gotten myself into quite a conundrum (I absolutely love that word).
WARNING: This is a major rant so you might want to skip the rest of this post
There are only 48 spots for the 62 players who are trying out over 3 days so it is quite competitive. After the 1st day of tryouts, one of the coaches approached me and asked if Jordan could attend early August practices and although I took it as a good sign, I said nothing to Jordan or his dad because I didn't want to get their hopes up in case Jordan didn't make the team. Well, little did I know that due to the lack of coaches, Jordan's dad decides to take the coaches clinic during the 1st day of tryouts so he would be an accredited coach too. He said nothing about this to me and naturally he wasn't at Jordan's 1st tryout so it was a complete surprise yesterday when he showed up to judge and pick players for his team. Well, the coach who had approached me the first day had already chosen Jordan so when Jordan's dad was making his picks, he realized Jordan was already "taken"and couldn't be on his team. He was naturally upset. Jordan's dad is quite the extrovert and approached the coach who had chosen Jordan and started an argument...well those two grown men went at it full force and I thought I was gonna die of embarrassment......MAJOR overload of testosterone going on on that field, if ya know what I mean ;)....and I truly believe that both men should have been spanked for acting so childishly. Thank heavens Jordan was taking a water break and didn't hear it. At the end of tryouts, the other coach literally chewed me out and oddly enough, my ex-husband took up for me in front of him....but once the other coach stomped off, my ex-husband blasted me big time. He then went to the head honcho who allowed Jordan to be on his team.......so hopefully everything is fixed.....and to think I was worried Jordan wouldn't get on a team:blush:

I have a more important rant that I'll post separately.....thanks for reading.....it helps to get this off my chest

CADBURYSMOM, how ridiculous! The other coach should have understood and just let Jordan go with his father. This kind of thing drives me nuts. People need to get a life. These are kids--not the friggin' national olympic team.

Hunter did tee ball last year. I didn't witness it, but there was a now famous fight between two of the baseball coaches of 8 or 9 year olds. It got so bad that the Town police had to be called in.

And we have a lot of "jock" dads in our neighborhood. (a gym teacher/high school football coach, an assistant coach for the SU football team, head of athletics department for school district, etc.) Some of them have their kids doing three sports at a time. You rarely see them outside playing because they are at a game, practice, or some sport clinic.

Whatever, to each their own I guess. I'm just glad my kids are learning to use their imaginations and entertaining themselves. (BTW, I should add that Eric loves sports, but Hunter would rather pick dandelions and chase the girls around.)

Oops. Sorry for my rant now! ;)

Lewski709 Oh how I wish you could chat during the day cause I need to rant about my ex-husband....and I know you would most certainly understand....:(

RANT #2: I hope you're sitting down for this....

This morning after Jordan's awards ceremony(he made Honor Roll :teeth: Jordan's dad surprised me by saying he would be going to WDW with us on Saturday!:scared: And I said......NO WAY!
I found out Jordan told him that I was all excited about having dinner with a bunch of fellow axe murderers who I'd met over the internet:eek: .....and not only that, he says he's concerned that we're traveling alone and thinks he should go too just for safety's sake.....he even thought he should stay in OUR room.....NO WAY!
Of course, there is no other way to describe how I was feeling other than I was COMPLETELY freaked out!!!:scared1:
I assured him that we are just meeting them for dinner and besides, if NC Belle and NC Beast were actually axe murderers, wouldn't they have already killed us here in Raleigh rather than travel all the way to WDW to do the deed?

We had to leave it at that because ex-husband had to go home to take a "business call" and said we'd talk in an hour. Well, at exactly an hour later, I call him at home intending to tell him that under no circumstances is he going with us. HE doesn't answer the phone but his new wife does. (BTW, she and I get along very well as they met and married long after we divorced and she is very nice to Jordan, which is all I really care about anyway.) I tell her there's no way I'm allowing ex-husband to come to WDW with us and lo and behold.....this is the first she has heard of it  He had not even told her yet so naturally, she was completed infuriated with him and thanked me for letting her in on his plans. She basically "chewed his butt off" for me and like magic, my problem is solved:teeth:.......I just love my ex-husband's new wife

End of rant....thanks for reading

:wave2: Again!

I hope everything is straightened out now, CADBURSYMOM!! Sounds like it was quite a mess...!! But, you must be proud of Jordan being such the great soccer player, seeing as he had two coaches fight over him like that!! :D ;)

I'm one of those kids thats always in a sport, sometimes more than one....I can't stand not having something to do in the afternoon....or all day in summers case! My parents never force me to do anything....they would never pile on this much themselves!! They get mad when they're always out driving me somewhere!! Or my sister for that matter because she has three tennis matches a week, two lessons, and practice before and after lessons. On the weekend, she has tournements. Now with my brother home from college, we have to write out everything about who has the car what day. Who needs to be picked up when...at least with me it's always the same time, every day except for meets! I think we got just a little too used to being a 'four' person family with the third car always there for my sister to use....how different it is now!!!

I might have to go and find FPGURL, and demand to be taken also!! DEPPLYINLUV meanly left me...even though I'm not much out of her way :( I won't be left behind again!!! You hear that FPGURL?! ;) :teeth:

Please feel free to rant too! I can't believe the police had to be called in...how horrible for those boys to witness such ridiculous "adult" behavior!

......too much testosterone is what I always say!::yes::

You are sweet to say that but the funny thing about it is......Jordan isn't really that good at soccer.....I think it was two male egos going on overload!::yes::

Well, sorry to "Rant and Run" but I've got some errands to do before I get Jordan from school......BTW, thanks for listening to my crazy, mixed up life......I'm going to miss all of you next week!

Have a great afternoon everyone!:wave2:

Haha!

Well, he'll get better by playing, which is what he'll be doing. Before you know it you'll have this huge soccer star....I hope you'll send all your friends here at the TAGLIARCHY his autograph!!! :D

I know this boy who is a pitcher at one of the high schools here in Maine, and all these Major league scouts are after him... everyone says he'll be a first round pick!!! And I have his autograph for when he becomes good and famous....:hyper:

If it would make Jordan feel better about meeting us--we could meet Friday night at Goodberry's or somewhere well-lighted and with lots of safe space. NC Beast has to work at mid-night tonight and tomorrow. I was thinking about driving hubby to work anyway so Jessie could be boarded before 1-2pm on Sat.

We never talk negative about hubby's ex-sil/the mother of 2 nephews (bil and her were divorced just before we married). The boys have always heard us say good things about her and she sometimes lets NC Beast and I see them even when its not BIL's turn. Jordan can call for references. :wave2:

cadburysmom, OMG!!! I cannot believe your ex!!! I agree with Barb in that the other coach should have just let your ex have Jordan on the team. However, who the heck is organizing this league? Someone should have notified the other coach that Jordan's dad had a team & that Jordan would be on that team so he wouldn't have wasted a pick. Now, as far as going to WDW with you!!! Is this guy nuts? And I may be going out on a limb here, but is he a bit of a male chauvinist (sp?). I mean, you shouldn't travel without a man?? Whatever.

Rick, this day does seems to be dragging. I do wear a bra (believe me, no one wants me to go braless!!) and I don't have a wallet in my back pocket attached to a chain. I carry a very flowery bag with a matching flowery wallet. I do not wear make up though & I do love watching football & baseball. There should be a term for people like me. Like "metrosexual" except not. hmm, maybe you should come up with something.

Congratulations to TOM!!!! Way to Go!!!

Rick, great pic!!!!

And yes it is the longest day in history. I was going to leave early so that I could do all the grocery shopping for our weekend trip, but I can't because I'm waiting for a customer to call with their credit card number--ALL FOR A STINKIN' $139 ORDER!!!!! He wanted me to put down in writing that the parts could ship today (we are the rep--parts don't ship from here). I told him they could if he placed the order SOON. That was well before noon. I called him at 12:50 p.m. told him he was running out of time. He said he'd have someone call me with the number within the hour. Lucy, I think someone is playing games with me... We'll it's after 2:00 now so heck with him. They ain't shipping til tomorrow! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!

Oops, sorry for the rant.

On a positive note, my friend Teri is in town from Orlando, and the gang is all going to Mary Jo's tonight for pizza and wings--and a nice bottle of chiani and some f-f-f-fava beans. :hyper:

BTW, I think we all SHOULD send e-mails to CADBURYSMOM's ex. Could you imagine? :teeth: :p ;)

Now THAT's weird! I couldn't see the pic when I tried to make it part of my sig, hence the change in my avatar. Anyway, that's me on the left and Joe on the right!

I'd give anything to have your extraordinary "gift with words"...you always crack me up !

Well, my "gift" as you so eloquently and delicately put it, has gotten me in a whole messa trouble in my life. I have been orally intimate with soap in my childhood as my dear old Dad can attest to!
