When I went to Girl State in MD, I used poster board and markers---it might have been provided for us--But what got me elected and nominated for various posts/honor was talking to everyone and having a smile on all the time. Things just came together without much more than that for me. I guess people notice who was sincere and real.

Cheeringmom--I remembered MD Girl State have everyone wearing a ribbon with a party/residence or what what be in today's world: tribal name . You can buy safety pin and red/white/blue ribbon and labels/hello tag stickers for Sam. She might not be assign with others from her school. I was separated from the other ones from my school. She can start ideas for catchy slogans and memory techniques for people to know her name and what stands out. Posters were big help in my time. So definitely bring simple posterboards, markers, and maybe some balloons and ribbons.

[COLOR=009966]NC Belle[/COLOR] and ohanafamily We have Priority Seating at O'Hanas on Sunday, May 30 at 8:40pm for six people. I made it that late so we could hopefully sit inside with a good view of Wishes(10pm). If you think I should change to an earlier time, I'll be happy to call Disney Dining and request it. Otherwise, let's try to all meet there around 8:15-8:30pm to be seated.

I'm so excited to meet you and your respective mates(that sounds kinda funny, doesn't it) but most of all, can't wait to see the menfolk compete against Jordan and the other kids in the coconut races while us girls laugh and drink those Lupa Lupa drinks or whatever they're called!

Halloween...best costume....Frodo Baggins. This was in about '82 or '83. Made hairy feet by sewing fake hair on knee high stockings. Made a tunic and a fake 'mithral' shirt underneath (just the top of the mithral shirt showed...actually was a dickey-type thing totally covered with small studs. Had a cloak, closed with a leaf pin, a small glass vial that was Galadrial's light and, of course, my sword, Sting. Oh, and pointy ears! I must say, I looked great, being hobbit sized and all. Still have it in a drawer somewhere

Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of that experience. Hmmmm but someone does...one of my friends came as a dragon and I know we took picks of me 'slaying' him with Sting! I think I'll make a couple of phone calls as see if anyone can remember who took the snaps....AND if they still have them after 20 years!!

OR....I could just go put the costume on and take a photo of middle-aged Frodo!

I just spent the last couple hours looking for a t-shirt from the DVC Member's cruise we went on last year to wear at the DVC DIS meet on Tuesday. (A lot of people that went on the cruise are wearing them that day.) I found mine earlier today but not ohanafamily's. I searched and straightened and tossed and still came up with nothing. I was positive they would both be together in the spare bedroom where all our stuff was "put" while our bathroom/closet was being worked on - yet another example of my procrastination skills; there's still a lot of stuff up there that needs to find its home or get tossed. I finally gave up and decided it's time to get ready for bed. What should I find when I walked into our closet??? Yup, ohanafamily's shirt. And it was sitting right on top of the stack of folded shirts in front of the door. Oy!!!!!

Hey that brings up a good QOTD. What was the last item you searched high and low for, only to discover it was right in front of you all the time?
