Silly girl. Did you look at HOW OLD I WAS WHEN I GOT ENGAGED?

Sure, I guess we could've gone ahead with it a little sooner, 19 just seemed be young enough.::yes::
Yeah...I felt silly when I saw the dates a few posts down....corrected myself, but sure...go ahead...make me feel silly again :jester:

I need some creative juice, if anybody has some extra laying around that they aren't using. Holly is doing a class project. She is building a habitat for her chosen animal, the . It needed a box for it's home, I got a Styrofoam cooler. Now it needs snow and ice and all I've come up with are tissues and cottonballs, maybe sugar cubes. Also something we can make look like water. Nothing too big. It also had to have it's food source. I got these really cute little fish that are actually bait. Very cute.
For snow and ice, you could use big chunks of white styrafoam....like from the floral section at Michaels....and carve it into an iceberg or whatever shape you need.....for water could you use those rocks that go in the bottom of an aquarium....have them coming up to the edge of the ice shelf you carved out of styrafoam.....

New QOTD - since we heard the RRBB and ohanafamily, how he proposed story.. what about everyone else's story??

Good (?) story, by the way, gefric. "Um...let's get married before someone dies." Not romantic, but gets the job done....

Mine wasn't very romantic either. We'd been talking about it forever. DH one days said he'd been out and gotten my ring  Well, we were living 5 hours apart (him in Atlanta and me in Charleston, SC) while we were in college....so the next weekend I went to see him I practically tore his room apart looking for it. 2 hours later I sit down, dejected, and he's telling me he'll give it to me when I don't expect it, when he wants to do it....

Then  a sudden flash...I KNOW where it is!! I get off the sofa, walk over to his word processor (fancy typewriter) open the casing and feel inside the housing....there's the box!! He's completely blown away that I found it....but says if I take it out I can't have it....so I sit back down, congratulating myself that I found it, but sad that he hasn't asked me yet. We watch movies, whatever...I figure it'll be a visit or two before he goes near it....and I'm just falling asleep on the sofa....he takes my hand and is talking to me but I'm half asleep so I miss some of it....but I remember the "I love you" part and "really hope you'll spend the rest of your life with me" part and then he's in front of me (I opened my eyes) kneeling down fixing to put the ring on my finger. See...I really was asleep as I never felt him get up to go across the room and get the ring!!

A unique story, but not too terribly romantic. He just can't seem to keep a secret from me....still can't. I know what every present is well before the holiday :teeth:

Well, must go clean for the in-laws coming tomorrow. Just remembered we have a playdate tomorrow morning so I'll get very little done until naptime (1:30/2pm) tomorrow, and they'll be here sometime between 4 and 6pm....not nearly enough time!!

Can some :wizard: PLEASE wave a magic wand and turn me into a neat-freak? PLEASE?? It's even starting to bother me!! A confessed not-so-neat kinda gal....

DBf and I are not at that stage yet but my cousin played matchmaker(we all went to the same junior college at the time we met)

Hey, whoever waves a wand at her, can you swing it up here to Ohio, too? I bet I need it worse!!!

Hi everybody,

Oh crud, time to go get Katie. This has been a crazy runaround day.

Kisses to your arm, Danauk.

llebrekinT for water, if you can't find blue saran wrap, how about looking in the school supply section and seeing if you can find a pale blue translucent pencil case that goes in the ring binder that you could cut up... or they have those clear, but colored plastic report covers where the plastic binding slides over the spine to hold the papers in. I thought the styrofoam idea was great. I keep thinking that we used to sculpt stuff with some kind of homemade dough made out of Ivory Soap. Any of the other ancient and revered ones remember that?

Later...

:)

BBarb - great minds think alike... what else can I say?

I don't know what chukka is either. Is that like when you chukka your shoe at your DH? Bwhaaaaa!

BUT, I answered Walmart is the place where you buy crap. :teeth: I know, because I just bought $88 worth of crap for the trailer there on Saturday. And I know where pesto comes from.

I'm kind of disappointed that I'm not snobbier. ;)

Hey, where are everyone's butt bow photos???? CADBURYSMOM, I'm still waiting. :scratchin

I called AM EX today. I have about 24,700 points with over 1,000 points pending my next bill. But I think I only need 20,000 points to fly in October. I tried to get through to USAirways but couldn't. I'll try again tomorrow when I have hours to wait on hold.

If I get the flights I want, I'll arrive at MCO at 11:26 a.m. I depart at 12:30 pm on Wednesday.

I was looking through a 2000 Birnbaum's last night. :bounce: (Couldn't find my 2003 Unofficial Guide.) Of course I read the most important part of the book -- restaurants. I've got some ideas for us goils!

FINALLY!

I was all excited to get back home and post some pictures and then when he had a stupid lightning storm and the stupid cable went out which means the stupid computer won't connect to the internet because we have a stupid cable modem.

So, I both scanned pictures for the baby contest AND took a bunch of old negatives in and had them put on CD. So I have so many pictures to shower you guys with for the next few days.

This is one from Jan. 2001, the coldest trip we ever had. It was 28 degrees for a couple days! We went to a mall and bought clothes and wore the same stuff for days.

Cute LLEBREKNIT. I like your hair. The kids have grown so much since then. :earseek:

Okay, Rob has got a principle in town from Florida. (The place where he interviewed in December.) So that means the kids and I are on our own for dinner. Someone make up my mind for me.

1. Order a pizza (ho-hum)
2. Cook up some ravioli which I have in freezer (ho-hum)
3. Outback Steakhouse (Eric wants ribs)
4. Chili's (Eric wants ribs)
5. Friendly's (Hunter wants ice cream  )
6. Other

Hee-hee! Sexy socks!

BTW, I think Holly is your clone.

I hesitate to post this one. First of all, it's never good to have your picture taken next to someone who hasn't reached 100 pounds yet. Secondly, you should never, ever wear baggy, pleated jeans if you have hips, no matter if they are the style of the moment. Third, you guys may not want to meet with Deadheadbelle after you see this -

This was probably the fall of 1987. DHB was probably 16. She hadn't had her growth spurt yet.

This would be after she finally grew some, probably her senior year in high school

This is DH, don't know how old he is in it, but you gotta love the purple Converse!

I'm on a roll, you can't stop me!

This is senior year, we are actually practicing for graduation. OK, does anyone remember jams? Well, that would be the shorts I have on. And do any of you remember wearing a bow in your hair in HIGH SCHOOL? I believe it was that damn Madonna who started that trend. You can barely see my bow.

Down to business. The girl who has the very badly frosted hair and is pretending to have a gold cord is my friend that I had gotten into a fight with in the lunchroom two years before that picture was taken.
