DHB.. we try to leave about 5:30 or 6:00 in the mornng and get to South of Macon, Ga for the night, usually about 10 or 11 pm. We stop every 2 hours, run around, and change drivers.

Are you thinking of driving?

Deadheadbelle So how'd they figure out it was caffeine and not something else?

I'm on hold now trying to get an appointment....when I got put on hold the computer voice said my call was 2nd in line....that was 10 minutes ago....is there only 1 person answering phones, and she's only allowed one call every 15 minutes???

Sorry....just want to get the appt, go, and have it over with. Nothing like having some stranger poking and prodding your ****s  Uncomfortable for everyone...

OK...just got off the phone. Referral isn't in the system yet so I have to call back tomorrow. But, the first available appt (if they could make it today  ) would be June 30!! I HATE having stuff like this strung out....argggghhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, I'm pretty sure we are going to drive. Unless the money tree in the backyard starts blooming....lol! We've done it before & it's not too bad. 13-14 hours. I want to suck it up & drive until we get there. If we got out of town by 8am, we should be there my 10pm. Not too bad. We could sleep in the next morning. I think we would probably spend the first day hanging around the resort, swim, go to dinner, maybe shop at DTD. That way we'd be rested up for the parks the next day.

. So sorry you have this to stress over. When you finally do get to make your appointment, be sure to tell them to call if they have a cancellation. You might be able to get in sooner.

CMOM.. that's close.. I am at work, so i hanging around my 'puter.. get really frustrated with my job, the software developers and management ... so it is time to go to lunch and get some fresh air and a better attitude.. now I am back.

that is very doable from your end... If you can get the kids going at 6 am or so, makes it easier.. especially before the traffic hits..

I have my kids sleep in their clothes. when they were real little, we just picked them up blanket, pillow and all and strapped them into the car seats and drove...
now i make them do a pit stop before the get to the car but they go back to sleep and I drive..

Deadheadbelle We drove straight through once...not by choice...but it was better than I thought it would be! It's 11 hours with no stops (DH and I did that one time) but with the kids needing to eat, run, diaper change, it usually turns into 13.

The one time we did it, we left at 5pm (like I said...not by choice....we'd spent all day at the ER....were supposed to leave that morning and stop halfway...anyway....).

Left at 5pm...stopped for dinner at 6...back in car at 6:30....stopped for run around/diaper change/put on pj's at 7:30....back in the car, put in a movie, and gave Walt his bottle...turned it off at 8:30 and they slept most of the night. We did stop for gas and to change drivers around 1am....got to Orlando at 5:30/6am....stopped for breakfast at the Waffle House....back in the car 30 minutes later....pulled into AKL at 7am! I'd slept some in the car so I was fine, as were the kids. DH doesn't sleep in the car very well, so he was not good for much that day, but we had a full day and were on a normal schedule....although DH and I turned it around 10:30 rather than our usual midnight! Hard to do if you can't sleep in the car, though... But with Walt who is not great in the car....it was better to have him sleeping ::yes::

kadaten I used to get those fibrous thingies, more so when I was 29 to about 32 or 33, not so much now. However, I lived with this ache that was right in that area for about 6 months and worried about it until my yearly check up, turned out it was just my cracked rib acting up. Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be fine. Stinks waiting on the phone all that time and then not getting the appointment you want.

Deadheadbelle wasn't all that caffiene you were drinking also the main contributor to your kidney stones?

I'm on the fence on the driving thing. Now I'm worrying even more. You live in NC and it takes you 11 hours? It's only supposed to take about 14 from here. That doesn't sound good.

Where is TalkisCheap?

Well folks, I'm outta here for a while. If you need me, you can find me in a waterfront room at the Polynesian. I'll be lurking, but I'm not coming back until the BIG secret has been let outta the bag!

Greetings fellow members of the TAGLIARCHY,

Checking in with you all from Port Orelans - French Quarter. We arrived yesterday, and our room is beautiful. It looks a lot nicer after the remodel. ::yes::

We went to the MK yesterday and exchanged our AP vouchers for our tickets with no problem at all. We then boarded a boat for the WL and I rented a water mouse while DF relaxed on the beach. I had a hoot with that, toured all around old Discovery Island, across Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon, hopping the wakes behind big fairy boats. :boat:

We looked around WL, because if we can get a good AP rate, we'll be staying there next March with my parents. That place is immaculate. How long ago did it open, because it looks brand new? I thought it was pretty neat you had to insert your key card to get to the concierge level. Took me a few minutes to figure it out though!

Then we went to EPCOT and road Test Track (50 min wait) and Spaceship Earth (0 min wait). For dinner we decided on the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk, so after a few boats, and a few buses, we finally got there an hour later. :teleport:

After dinner we came back to the hotel and conked out on the bed. Waking up at 3am and driving for 9 hrs will do that for ya!

Today we hit the MK, and followed the unofficial guides touring plan, and we had to wait no longer than 20 minutes for anything. You should see the group of people that RUN toward Space Mountain in the morning, crazy folk (we joined in, but were yelled at by a CM :( )

We pretty much did all the attractions, and were back at the hotel by 1:30pm. We hit the hot tub and pool, and now we're just relaxing in the room. We have a PS at Crystal Palace at 7:15, so we'll head back over for that.

Trying to take lots of pictures! Wish you guys were here!

PS. DF is celebrating a birthday, and had a nice card and autographed photo from none other than Mickey Mouse when we got back to the room. ::MickeyMo

Glad to here your report hyzdufan .. are you going to go to whispering canyon?? It is great fun..I love the fish, the boys get the all you can eat rib thing. BTW ask for ketschup and a large drink when you dine there..

DHB, 13 - 14 hours sounds about right to me.. from NW suburban Chi to Louisville is 6 hours. I know a lot of people do the drive all night thing.. but we just don't ..

Last year, i wanted to be at the parks ar 9 am Sunday , so we left at 3 am saturday and drove straight arrived at WDW at 11 pm on saturday. We get there faster if I do most of the driving, since I have a heavier foot than DH.

with the DVD player, the time goes fast for the kids too.

You waited 6 months???? llebrekniT - ARE YOU NUTS? DON'T YOU EVER WAIT LIKE THAT AGAIN!!! (I'm only yelling 'cuz I loves ya!) My best friend's mom found a lump and waited 4 months and that's all I'm going to say.

kadaten - PD to your **** and a  for you! My sister has those all the time and they are always just a nuisance. I had a sore spot and small lump once and the doc took me off of chocolate for 2 MONTHS!!! (It's my only caffeine vice, but I do it well.) It was right before Thanksgiving and the holiday season where the construction companies, title companies, and law firms sent us boxes of Godiva. I was not a nice person that season. The good thing is, if your Doc was concerned, he/she would have gotten you into a specialist sooner than June 30... so I would take that as a good sign that they didn't send you over tomorrow.

Maybe we should start a PD drip that people can hook up to for a fix.

hyzdufan - I don't know whether to be :snooty: or to say :wave2: ... hmmm.... envy or friendliness... I guess since you are nice enough to think of all of us who AREN'T at WDW, I will say

Hey, and for your DF...

More wonderful storms last night. Cluelessball27 looked like Alabama was having tornado troubles, true? Hope all is well there. And DHB is absolutely right! Duh. Didn't you know he liked you? Poor guy<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_30_108.gif' border=0></a>. How many hearts do you break in a week that you don't even notice the trail of broken hearts behind you?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_2_3.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_2_3.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_2_3.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_2_3.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_2_3.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/7/7_2_118.gif' border=0></a>

Sorry about the storms!! Hope ya get nice, clear, SUNNY weather soon!!!!::yes:: :teeth:

TRUST me, he DOES NOT like me!!! We grew up together, he has always lived no farther than 1/2 a mile from me. We went to the same babysitter and everything.::yes:: But when Honey told him that I liked him {and I said that I MIGHT have liked him at the time}, he said "She's hot and all, but I kinda like someone else." Those were his exact words. Well, Lauren must have told him something, because he hasn't talked to me since!!

Well, the only guys that showed up for our practice game today were Cheston, Darren, and Cardarrell. So 2 of us had to play with the boys. Lacey and I got to!!!!!!!:teeth: It was soooo fun!!! Lots more fun than playing for Coach Landers and having to do complicated, confusing plays, we just did whatever we wanted!!!!:teeth: I rang a three for the guys, and when Lacey and I played with our team {girls}, I got a three. I got a few rebounds. It was pretty fun, but the best was playing with the guys!!!!!:teeth: ::yes::

Evening all,
How cool hyzdufan posting from WDW, it sounds like he is having a great time.

I tried to catch up on all the pages I missed so have a few things to add:
Major PD to anyone who needs it, especially people with doctors appointments.
I love some of those musicals on your list RRBB. I loved Joseph, the King and I - I saw Elaine Page in that in the west end a few years ago. Plus Little shop of horrors is so funny, some friends of mine are doing it at the moment.

OK, so today I went to Alton Towers and managed to get on 11 rides. We used quite a few fast passes so did well. I rode a new rollercoaster called Spinball wizzard. It was really cool, you go around the track and your car spins around as it goes along. Plus I got to go on my favourite rollercoaster ever, Nemasis and on Oblivion which is a huge vertical drop in to the ground!!

Oh well I'm back now and need to sort a few things out for tomorrow. I need to pop into work for a bit to get some prep done.

hyzdufan, glad you are having such a great time! Just reading your post makes me want to plan, plan, plan for our October trip. I think I'll flip through my Passporter for a bit.

geffric, we've driven to WDW twice. The first time we drove, we first went to DFIL's place north of Ft. Myers, then after a few days there, we drove to WDW. Stayed there a few days & headed back to Kentucky. I'm pretty sure it took us around 13 hours. Josh was only 2 then, & he was so tired after being at the parks that he slept a lot of the way home. The second trip, we drove around 7 or 8 hours then stayed the night at a hotel. Got up & drove the remaining 6 hours. We drove straight through on the return. I'd rather get the drive over with rather than stop when we only have a few hours to go. The DVD player will be a big help, I'm sure.

Well, I'm off the the Poly. llebrekniT got a room for me, too. We're gonna sit on the beach & drink Pina Colada's. She booked enough rooms for everyone. Come join us! We'll be back when the SECRET is revealed.

I've caught the boat over to the main land for a while too. Anyone else care to join us? (BTW, the bar men have come with us too!!)

I'm with Danauk, Deadheadbelle, and llebrekniT.......be back later!!!!!!!
