Lewski, I am 99.9% sure that Midway is open 24/7. It has really grown into a larger airport with 3 concourses. I was shocked at how big it was when we flew in last November. I looked on the webpage and it doesn't mention airport hours anywhere. Is Indy too far from you?

I was there 3yrs ago in Feb and it was in the middle of renovations, but was great.

Indy is 2.5hrs, Chicago is 1.5hrs.

my brother broke my leg for me at age 3. we were on a see saw and he pushed my leg off, intentionally. needless to say, the see sawed and broke it quite nicely.

i broke my finger playing basketball once. i was in 8th grade. i was never good at b-ball and since, i haven't played. it's the ONLY sport i don't really care for playing. i can do horse and those types of things, without problems. just not the game itself.

lots of other injuries, just not broken bones.

HIYA LEWSKI!!!!! How've ya been! I've missed your witty conversation lately. Have you found a new job yet??????????

Indy is 2.5 hours for us, too. We're driving to BIL on the night before we fly, then driving to Indy from Cinci, which is about 1.25 hours away. I'm terrified that there will be a traffic snarl that will make all 11 of us miss our plane, but DH says I worry too much. I guess my philosophy is "expect the worst and you will be pleasantly surprised.

I agree with geffric that Midway is not in the best neighborhood ... it's not ghetto, but it ain't Kenilworth either! Are you planning to stay awake all night to guard your carryons and yourself? If I were you, I'd look up Midway's #, call them, and ask them what it's like at night and if a single woman traveling alone would feel secure staying there all night to wait for a morning flight.

I have the hots for all things undiluted chocolate ... i.e. mint or orange, and for drummers (in bands). Both make me drooley (drooly?)

Feeling better now. headache is gone and bp is down a little. Felt crappy all morning. Lots do do this afternoon but couldn't pass on LEWSKIs comments! Luv ya girl!!

Broken bones?? Had a serious car accident in 1983 hmmm lets see broke pelvis, fibula, a couple ribs and cracked my scapula, broke my big toe 2x and one of my fingers.... 8???? not countin my head!! got htat stiched up and down. Ugh hate blood

I am a pessimist, so I always expect the worst. There are optomistic moments, but few.

Ask MIDWAY? Do you think they will honestly tell me? A single woman as myself....I'm secure all the time and sadly, not afraid of much. What's to be will be........my grandma always said that. I believe it. Now, I don't think walking into a store that's being held up is a good move, but I don't worry about much. I know....I am a little . I wouldn't stay awake. I would use my bag as a pillow for a little shut eye.

OK. I think I might get in the bad books with the inlaws. It is MIL's 60th birthday soon. FIL phoned tonight to say he wanted us to go to a surprise meal for her (along with SIL and grandMIL). However we didn't know he was planning this and have already booked theatre tickets with our friends for that evening which we can't change! I guess we could ask FIL if he could book the meal for lunch time instead of the evening, that way we can go to both. Does this sound reasonable?

You'll be in the airport, at your terminal, right? I don't know how comfortable you'll be, but you're probably at least as safe as you would be staying in a hotel and taking a cab at that hour.

Lewski709 I stood on a nail once (ouch!!). That taught me though never to decotate your house only wearing slippers! I did it on the Friday evening and by Monday I still could not walk. It was the only time I have ever taken a day off work!

Lewski the toothpick sounds painful, but how about this. Fourth of July, barefooted, sparklers flaring, great big sparkle lands between ring finger toe and baby toe. Burns and burns, jumped into the lake to put it out. Nasty fishy lake water in nasty fleshy burned up toe. Doesn't heal for, like, months. Still hurts to think about that one.

Les Mis is still on at the Palace - I saw it there a few years ago. Great music but I neded to read the story in the programme to follow it!

Eer, we kind of are not going to see an actual play in a theatre, we have tickets booked for Harry Potter and the POA (it will be really hard to get them now they are on release to see it as soon as it comes out, plus the tickets are paid for). Lunch should be good though, plus grandMIL does not like to eat late anyway so lunch would be better for her.
