Hey everyone--what is your favorite restaurant in Epcot for dinner.

Good morning,

I am totally ticked that I couldn't stay and play in the pool all day yesterday because I had to do "real life" stuff. So, I'm in the process of reading about 6 pages, and this is the third QOTD I've seen, so I'd better start answering them...

1. I've been to WDW 7 times in my adult life, 8 is coming up all too slowly. Did Disneyland/Cal.adv. in a day last summer.

2. I was born down south in Lake Charles, LA, then moved to Shreveport, LA, then Glenview, IL, and after high school, Music City USA (that's Nashville for all you city slickers out there), then 2 years ago, the bustling metropolis of Lewis Center north of Columbus.

3. My favorite restaurant in Epcot at this point is Rose and Crown, <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/26/26_8_1.gif' alt='Big Ben' border=0></a>because that's the only place I've eaten dinner. I'm now looking for experienced diners to make suggestions for where to eat dinner there one night on our trip this summer...hint hint!

Back to reading! I'm hoping I'll find breakfast along the way.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/168v.gif' alt='Feed Me' border=0></a>

Good morning!

I'm way behind on posts, just read the last page and there's one that needs an immediate response:

:bounce:

NO!

She told me about this - so I'll go ahead and tell you. She had the return address in an envelope and was going to stick it in the box but forgot. She is mailing it to you and it will probably reach you before some of these swappers boxes do.

The tables were SO close together that they guy next to me and I were constantly knocking elbows. Service was terrible. I keep getting tempted to give it another try, but there are so many places I love and so many I haven't tried yet that I don't bother....

ME TOO!! ME TOO!!!:teeth:

Oops, I asked the where to eat at Epcot question before I got to all of the restaurant reviews....sorry!

Kadaten, I had exactly the same experience at Alfredo's and apparently had repressed that memory until I read your post. It was my 3rd trip and DH's first trip to WDW and my kids were 4 and 14. I had a migraine, the service was awful, the food was mediocre, and yep, we were bumping elbows with our neighbors and hearing every stupid word they said. Bad memories! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/29/29_1_20.gif' alt='Tongue Out' border=0></a>

famous last words from my sister after her 10th h.s. reunion... ran into a guy that she sort of knew in h.s., and since they found were both in Nashville, they "kept in touch." You know where this is going, ibouncetoo, don'tcha? I actually dreamed they were getting married before she even admitted to herself that they were not just keeping in touch, but actually dating, and now they're <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/202.gif' alt='Bride & Groom' border=0></a> with two kids!! You just never know.

And have so much fun on your trip. I don't think my countdown will ever get to 1!!!

No, you may not and yes, they are wonderful!;)

I think your DS and Ella should never play together. She too enjoys a walk on the wild side. Loves to spend her day emptying and climbing, climbing and then emptying. I am a bit of a neat freak and it shocks me how my house looks these days...

Yeah! What she said! In planning our upcoming trip, DHB has been doing extensive research as to what is going on and where we should stay, what PS we will want to make, etc. She's quite the EXPERT planner....

QOTD - born and raised in the same county, lived here all my life, I have a gazillion cousins, aunts and uncles who all live here, one uncle is the sheriff and mom works for the police dept. (in the office), I am UNTOUCHABLE! I can't imagine moving, but would love to live in central FL., I really would.

Which brings to mind my new QOTD - If you had to move and could live anywhere you wanted, where would it be?

Didn't answer my qotd: how many times I've been to WDW in my adult life.

Just completed my 14th trip and am currently in the planning stages of my 15th which will be sometime in Oct.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_108.gif' border=0></a>

Is Tigger Fans! replacing my HuggaBaloo in the swap? Makes no difference to me, I sent something for both of them anyway. My package for HuggaBaloo will either need to be held for him until he returns or sent back to me as it is intended specifically for him<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/201.gif' border=0></a> and no one else...

My favorite place to eat dinner in EPCOT for atmosphere was Mexico. We had dinner at Rose&Crown on this last trip and everything was top-notch yummy. Have also eaten at the nice restaraunts in Italy, Norway, Canada and Japan and liked them all. Didn't care quite as much for Garden Grill, it was just ok.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_12_10.gif' border=0></a>

Um, Lewski709, I'm no fighter, I'm not even much of a debater, but I hear you are a master at both?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_3_1.gif' border=0></a>

Cheeringmom and geffric - thanks so much for breakfast. I am really dragging this morning and I have to back to my @#$# old job to do yet two more reports that are due this month. Blleeehhhhhh.

QOTD: Orlando, Orlando, Orlando, and if I can't be there, I'd move to Orlando.

Last night Katie and I went to her school's talent show... we saw the basic dance acts and singing acts, but there was a little curly haired girl that did a wonderful Irish dance ... do any of y'all know how to do that? Then a 3rd grade boy juggled all kinds of stuff. Where do these kids get that talent? I can't juggle the DIS and being a mom! And Katie's best friend sang that Hilary Duff song ..." hey now, hey now, that's what dreams are made of..."
She's this super sweet, really nerdy genius-type who always has her head in a book, kind of like Lewski709, but unlike Lewski709, she has no social skills at all. A lot of the girls pick on her or ostracize her and it breaks Katie's and my hearts. Anyway, she did so well it made me cry!!! <a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_2.gif' alt='Teary' border=0></a>

ohanafamily - I'm glad my pkg. arrived. It's my first swap, too, so I hope everything's is okay and not stupid. I didn't enclose a return label, sorry! I can send you one or you can just use the one on the box. You have my address now, so if you are an axe murderer, I'm in trouble.

Oops, gotta do the mom taxi thing. I'll check in later ... hope everyone has a great TGIF! Did I tell you have a great time, ibouncetoo? If I didn't, please do!

Ohanafamily, the item to which you are referring is in reference to my horrible addiction and NOT in reference to where I am from! I thought you of all people would have figured that one out!! LOL!

Anyway, I have to apologize once again. I'm afraid I completely and totally forgot to put the items into individual bags. I am so sorry for giving you guys extra work.

...Sat 4/24 check in the the TAG FAIRY and read 800 pages of chit chat!

When we at O'hana's in Dec. we had a great view of the castle and were there during the fireworks. It was nice... but it doesn't compare to being out on the beach watching. BUT, being your PS is at 8:00, I wouldn't get up and head down there and miss out on all that good eatin'.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_91.gif' border=0></a>

Good morning, everyone!

Ooooh, cheeringmom - thanks for the warm Krispy Kremes, they are the BEST for breakfast *talking with her mouth full*

Thanks for the tutorial on the color thing, I'll go check it out and see what I can learn *is worried, is very computer illiterate*

BichonBarb - your camper sounds nice :) Ours is a Jayco 32', has a slide-out for the couch and dining room table/chairs, none in the bedroom though. We'll probably use it another 5 years or so, then when we start wintering in Florida we plan to get a new one. Some of them are just so beautiful, and roomy, with slide outs on both sides, WOW! Oh, I'd love to see pics of yours, and I would post pics of mine if I knew how to do that. Have never been able to figure that out though.

QOTD: I've been to WDW probably 5-6 times in my adult life. Not nearly often enough but when we can start spending our winters in Florida we will definitely be going more often then!!

QOTD: I live in the same area as I was born in. As long as my family is here I wouldn't want to move anywhere else.

The only real restaurant in Epcot that we've ever eaten is Akershush and we loved it. It was in January, during our last trip, and we were there around 3:00 and it wasn't busy at all. We got to sit at one of the tables in the turret, so cozy. The buffet was wonderful, we especially loved the caramel goat cheese.

*is off to get another Krispy Kreme and a refill on coffee*

Thanks for the breakfast KK etc..geffric, you have outdone yourself, can I have some hot sauce with my eggs?

llebrekniT, I was trying to be nice to your DSIL, and let her know subtly that she forgot the address label... We all know what she meant. Oh, and I think it was you that asked the deal about the mugs...I was thinking about sending with the swap TAGLIARCHY refillable mugs, but couldn't find any that I liked that were inexpensive enough. If I am going to spend $300, I at least want to be able to have it look the way I want it to...although, the Copper ones looked neat... Also, We like Garden Grill at EPCOT; I love the salad there, and we had a practice wedding there, and we played Charades with the Characters there...it was fun...And Finally ibouncetoo works for a Cable TV company that derives a good bit of income from advertisements. She feels personally responsible if there is a mistake...She is a Good Employee...

I figure that if we don't hear from HuggaBaloo by tonight, we can officially switch him to Tigger Fans!. I will check the mailbox before 7:00 tonight...this will let Tigger Fans! have the weekend to shop for cards and rush them here.

I also haven't heard from Kismetdreams since the 10th, when she said she needed to go shopping. I figure I will send an official PM to HuggaBaloo and Tigger Fans! tonight, and try to PM Kismetdreams again at that time asking her status. If she wants to back out, I will allow her the option...I mean Nieceosaurus and Nephosaurus guaranteed her spot. I don't think she will want to, but I would much rather let her withdraw with dignity than be an SOB. Besides, we all miss her around here and she will need us more than ever since Bryan is back in Korea...I think I will send her a PM now when I finish this post.

RRBB slept in this morning, she couldn't go to bed because she was so excited about getting the room. What she didn't say is that she found a room with just one other person, so she won't have to share a double bed with a complete stranger, or sleep on the floor. The girl she is staying with is originally from Dallas, and just graduated with her Bachelors degree (at 30). She lives in Nashville now, but couldn't go to the last CKU there because of school. her DH is doing this for her as a graduation present...Now, I must ask...Who was the Chatty Cathy last night????? I am sooo very excited for her...and Nieceosaurus too!)

RickinNYC, no problems, and I did realize that, but I HAD TO MENTION IT...it was just too much to pass up. Oh, and we don't mind there were some items that the bags split during shipment that we will have to repack too... We are having such a blast with this swap...

OK, gotta get dressed and to work...

Yes folks, I am great.... (yes, I am a dork).

Ok, so which is it?

Oh and about the Italian restaraunt's service. They try to trick you in there.

First the table jockey (waiter) came around with this enormous plate of stuff, I think you call it an antipasta platter, and asked if we would like?<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_105.gif' border=0></a> I could smell a rat<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/16/16_3_169.gif' border=0></a> and quickly declined<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_2_37.gif' border=0></a>, followed by everyone else. I then looked in the menu and found that platter and it costs, like, $30 or something!<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_2_108.gif' border=0></a>

Then he said would you care for some water? DHB's Dh popped off and said "yes".<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_5_2.gif' border=0></a><a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/23/23_1_108.gif' border=0></a> Back comes the jockey with bottle of water and presented it to us if it were the finest champagne. I knew we would be getting billed for it.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_14_4.gif' border=0></a> (We did, it was $5, but it was tasty water.)

Through the whole meal he kept pushing more stuff on us<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/3/3_2_121.gif' border=0></a>, clearly he works on commission. He seemed quite disgusted and offended that we didn't want any of his desserts.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_14_1.gif' border=0></a>

Soup Nazi comes to mind when I think of him, he was very arrogant. I don't think anyone ever told him he was just a waiter.<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_9_4.gif' border=0></a>

Good Morning everybody.

I think I'll have some Krispy Kremes this morning.

ohanafamily, I sent Nephosaurus a PM (I thought he was the one in charge of this swap) the day I sent my package stating that I forgot to slip the envelope with check & label into the box. I sent both in a separate envelope. You may want to ask him about it, he did respond to my PM, so he knows all about it.

ibouncetoo, why don't you get that dude some "groom ears" from WDW, that'd freak him out quick  .

Morning TAGLIKINS

Grabbing some yummmy breakfast then heading out the door for my LAST day at work! llebrekniT, I'm the National Sales Coordinator at the NBC affiliate here. I schedule the commercials for national advertisers (like Procter and Gamble/Allstate/General Motors). One of the biggest parts of my job is resolving issues when spots run wrong,or get missed for any of a jillion different reasons. So I get a little cranky when 'stuff' gets in the way programs and the commercials running as scheduled  Of course, one of the 'perks' of the job is occasionally meeting celebrities when they wander into Phoenix. Did I ever tell you guys I drove a golf cart for Matt Lauer? I was reminded of that when we were playing "Where in the WORLD is llebrekniT?"
....OK was that reference to obscure? NBC does "Where in the world is Matt Lauer?" each year.....

Oh, and the 800 pages of reading comment.....I clicked on TAG FAIRY instead of TAGLIARCHY.....I'm not THAT close with the TAG FAIRY.....although I SUSPECT I was in 'chat' with one once!::yes::

I missed one QOTD too: I was born in Gary Indiana. Moved to Chicago right out of high school (actually commuted to Chicago my first year out, then moved). Moved to Phoenix and age 30 and have been here ever since.

And newest QOTD: I'd love to live in Central California...like around Santa Barbara or Carmel! But really, I'd like to have several homes! One by the sea, one in the mountains, a condo in Chicago and a gazillion DVC points!

PixieMagic just called and said "I'm picking you up for the airport in 23 HOURS" So, I guess I'd better get the suitcase out, drag myself to work then come home and pack like a wild woman!
I'll check in with you all tonight.
Stay out of trouble!

Deadheadbelle, Ooops, my bad...

I do have to go to work fairly soon, but I just sent a PM to Kismetdreams offering her our support for her hubby being so far away, and telling her that if she needed to drop out of the swap we would understand...and NOBODY WOULD GIVE HER TOO HARD OF A TIME because her position was guaranteed by the 2 dragons. It must be really tough on her and I think she needs our support..... I'll let you know her response...

Of course we wouldn't, we save all that for YOU!

BTW RE:kismentdreams, once again, my package to her must go to her and no one else may have it. If you could go ahead and get her address and send it on to her, I'd appreciate it. As with HuggaBaloo, no return gift is expected or necessary if they need to drop out.:)
