Tagliarchy Island Part 2

Does anyone live or been to Boston lately? CKU is at the Seaport Hotel and it is totally booked up. I'm just curious if anyone knows if there are any other hotels right near it that I can try to get into. (The planners for CKU really messed up with this one because the hotel only has 426 rooms and they accept 600-750 participants, plus there's all the instructors and sponsors and CKU staff that need rooms.) I'm really hoping that I won't be sleeping in the lobby or on a park bench, and I really don't want to cancel if I don't have to. So any info you can help me with I'd really appreciate.

Hi, I just got a PM from disneyluvers. she has a sick little one with the flu. Her DH will be sending the package to us tomorrow, 2nd day. I am glad to hear from her, but sad to hear her little one is sick. Please join me in sending her little one (who is keeping her up all night needing to be rubbed and held) a lot of Pixie Dust.

I am going to send a few PMs reminding some of the swappers of the deadline... Please PM me back if you have already sent it, or will send it tomorrow....

Then I am going back to watch my Chocky Movie on the Widescreen...

Who said anything about taking my scrapping stuff to CKU?
lol.gif
Actually all I took with me to Nashville were the supplies they posted we needed to take - scissors, paper trimmer, ruler, adhesive, etc. - really just the basics. And I didn't even bother taking anything to scrap at the crops - didn't have time to get anything together and knew I wouldn't sit long enough at them even if I had.

(I did spend a good bit of yesterday sorting through all the classes they're offering in Boston deciding what I want to take when. And I was lucky enough to get all of them in the time slots I wanted, too. But like I posted above, I'm still without a room to rest my weary head at the moment and hope I don't have to cancel.)

I'm like you, I can't figure out how to get what I want to scrap to a crop at LSS or anywhere else these days so I lock myself away upstairs in our spare bedroom (that I've taken over for my scrapping room) and work all by my lonesome. I saw some people carrying their buckets - like 3 or 4 of them - into a LSS recently and thought is it really worth it to lug all that stuff around. I bet they didn't even use half of it in the few hours they were there. :hyper:

My DH's cousin lived there for a few years while getting his doctorate at MIT  He's one of those who doesn't mean to make you feel dumb but can't help but talk 30 levels over your head...anyway...supernice guy....will ask him if he knows of any others nearby. You got a star requirement?

Thanks for checking. At this point as long as it's clean and bug-free I'm not going to be that picky. I just don't want to end up across town from where the action is going to be. Ya know.

Just emailed him. He can be kinda slow getting back, but I'll let you know as soon as I hear. I asked him for something close, preferably walking distance (even if you have a car or get a cab, it's still nice not to have to plan for traffic and allow an extra 30 minutes commute....) Happy to help...hopefully he has some ideas :)

Well, going to get a snack and hit the hay! No DH to get up with the kids during the night if they wake so I'd better get some rest. Looks like I may hit 1000 posts tomorrow....so do I get a t-shirt or a party, or something? :teeth: (At least something besides the recognition that I can run on...and on....and on....and on....)

I think we should throw and All-Day party out by the pool in honor of kadaten's impending 1000th post. We'll just sit around the pool and hot tub all day drinking margaritas and daiquiris and pina coladas and munching on chocolates of all sorts. What do you think?

ohanafamily forgot to post earlier that we got Cheeringmom's package today. (Actually I think he felt sick and went to bed before he got around to it.) Great stuff Cheeringmom!!!!!

Oh, thank you, RRBB !!! That sounds heavenly....now where was the drop-off child care again? Gotta find that wing before the morning....

Did a quick look at your hotel and found a site that looks for hotels by proximety (sp?) to a point of interest....the Seaport is at the World Trade Center Boston, so I looked for hotels near it...here's the search....some good names on here...some maybe too good? Hope that helps and will forward any advice from the cousin, too!!

Hotels near World Trade Center Boston/Seaport Hotel

Can't wait for the pool party tomorrow....I'll be dreaming of daiquiries (sp? again? I must be tired!!) and a cute "pool guy"!!

Nite nite!

OK, Depplyinluv your PM inbox is way full. I was trying to ask nicely and privately if you got your swap stuff out. Since your PM box has like 122 messages in it, I have to broadcast this in front of everyone, including oddball27 that we haven't got a shipping date from you yet!!!

Just curious when expected date of shipment is...
(and you might want to clean out your PM box too)

OK, ohanafamily, can I get back to my movie now?

 "we should throw and All-Day party out by the pool"
Sounds good to me---I'm also going over by midnight :teeth:. I am the computer piggy if you compare NC Beast's 15 to my 999.;)

I was going to use my 1000th post to announce the definite Disney vacation, but I will use it in another way.

Congrats on the new jop op. Iluvtink.
Qotd: there seems to be a rumor about a couple in NC torturing sugar creatures (peeps). Never been to US/IOA. Our off-site Disney moments--well it was our honeymoon  :bride: :groom:

1000 and counting....time to break out the bubbly and chocolate!

Congrats on your 1000th post NC Belle!
Now we have double reason to celebrate and party all day tomorrow. (It's still before midnight here.)

Hotels near World Trade Center Boston/Seaport Hotel
Thanks for your help kadaten. It's getting kind of late now, but I'll definitely take a closer look at that site tomorrow. I'm still hoping to get into the Seaport somehow, but I'll make a reservation somewhere else just in case.

RRBB --I wish we could help you with hotels in Boston---NC Beast's brother lives there---his brother is sort of like RickinNYC in his opinions and other things (but a bit older-he's 42), but he is an computer geek extraordinaire. I haven't met his partner in person yet. They are always working.

By the way, llebrekniT, peeps are now out of season---so I guess no more torture until their next season. :hyper:

I would apply to chaperone the Oct. trip, but schedule/money may not allow two trips. I don't get birthday money anymore--just a special gift from NC Beast each year.

Hi zzzzz allzzzzzzzz,

DH just finished income taxes ... we were so excited to be getting a refund, then more than half of it is eaten up by what we owe the State of Ohio. Crudbuckets.

Thought I'd check in before all these pages stop printing. Ohana and RRBB, thanks for the PM box info. I figured out that I had a BUNCH of sent messages and so I deleted them all. I agree that we should be able to forward them to an e-mail or an archive or something!

Congrats on all the 1,000 posts... I can't believe I am approaching 500! seems like last time I checked before joining you on the Island, I had about 78!!! Now I know how some people are in the 2,000's... I thought it was just from answering other people's refill mug questions on the resort boards!!! yo ho ho.pirate:

Well, the brain activity line is flat ... I've been sitting here for a full minute now trying to think of something intelligent to say ... a total waste of time, so good night to all you good people. I will be at the pool tomorrow when I'm not helping mount 5th graders pictures in the art room. Oh, and I have to go back to that other !#@#%# job to file the quarterly 941 and the quarterly Ohio employee something or other form. If anyone has extra prayer time tonight, please pray that they find my replacement PRONTO, and that the replacement has done all of these reports before and I won't need to try to explain something I don't understand myself!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzziluvtinkkkkkkkkzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Congrats to Kadaten and NCBelle on your 1000 posts!

So you each get to pick a bartender/pool boy for the party tomorrow....choose whoever you like, we've never had a guest celebrity bartender turn us down!

Sent off my fax to POFQ for room request.......near the hot tub, of course! Now I just need to stock up on kitten food and start getting things ready to pack. Can't forget my DIS antenna topper to put on the rental car! llebrekniT, your Ohana pictures made me think about that restaurant all day today! I'll be there Tuesday night watching the fireworks from the restaurant...can't wait for that. And Thursday is the 5th birthday party for Animal Kingdom.....hope they have CAKE!

Well, I'm heading to bed a little bit early to finish my book........or maybe not.....just noticed 'someone' is on line...may have to send him a Yahoo instant message......::yes::

Later kids!

I want Ty from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to be my bar boy/slave. Then he would have to come back with me and change my house---want better floors, paint, and blinds. NC Beast won't mind too much---NOT.;) :teeth:
