FINALLY!!....someone's here!

Hi Smileybug!

.

Hey LegoMom. I'm here just for a bit. I have to go grocery shopping and birthday shopping. Hubby has a b-day on Sunday and Ds #2 has one on Monday. So it's a busy weekend. And tonight we are going to go and see Madea goes to Jail. We love Tyler Perry's movies and plays. What are you up to today?

Morning. Still home with the girls. Still dealing with the uncle.

At least I have good news. . .I got the email last night that the IRS had accepted my tax returns. I should get them by March 6--gonna pay off my trip, pay 1 month extra on mortgage and car, and put some in savings.

That sounds like a good plan. :thumbsup2

Have any of you used Tour Guide Mike to plan your trips? And if so, have you ever used their message boards? I'm finding the people on there to be very condescending. It's almost as if they expect you to fork out the money for 10+ days at Disney World. Not only could I not afford that long of a vacation, but I have a farm to help take care of. An 8 day vacation is seriously pushing it!

Normally I have some bill to pay off, like a credit card or something. It's nice to be able to say that I'm usuing the money to get ahead.

I know what you mean. Hubby and I were discussing our 5 year plan last night. The economy has thrown a wrench in things a bit but we think with careful planning we will be able to stay close to our plans.

Well, once we finally get the kids to school, I have to go grocery shopping and get the van washed while I'm in town. We are all going to Boston tomorrow so I need a clean van! (we nixed the NYC trip; weather was too "iffy" and we just have a lot of other stuff going on...). Tomorrow is MIL's birthday so we are taking her out with us as a treat; all she ever wants for any occasion is to spend time with her family.:goodvibes

The uncle needs to go. It sounds like he thinks he's got a good deal going there, using your yard, essentially, as a hang out while it's cold in NY!... It would be one thing if he just hung out and stayed out of the way, but....!

Great news on the tax returns!:thumbsup2 We got ours last week and are just sitting on it until we know exactly how it needs to be used.

I have never used TGM. Partly because it bugs me that on the main boards, any other site gets starred out because he is the "official" sponsor of the DIS. I also haven't been excited about other people's experience in using his site - apparently you have to do a lot of digging for his info or something, but "if you do as he says it's worth it." :confused3 Personally I've had very good luck with t o u r i n g p l a n s d o t c o m. It's the site for the Unofficial Guide book. I like the format, and for like a $6 fee you can get an entire year's subscription to the plans. I also like the PassPorter web site. They have message boards and the people there are great.

What amazes me is our Bank of America loan. We noticed a month ago that they hiked up the interest rate to 19% (from 2%). We called to inquire why, and they were very apologetic. They dropped the rate down to 0%. :confused3

I hope ya'll enjoy your time out with your MIL.:goodvibes

I agree with you on the planning site. That is my favorite one as well. :thumbsup2

Everyone needs to be paying attention to their interest rates. :sad2:

Morning....Happy Friday!

Happy Friday to you to Metro!!

Wanna wash my car, too? I think later this afternoon the girls and I are going to go into town to Goody's. The store is going out of business and I think I may be able to get some shorts for the upcoming trip on closeout.

He stayed around until late last night because he thought we were going to watch a movie. Actually, Dan and I were going to watch a movie, but decided to nix it because of the third wheel.

We've been talking about it since I realized how much we were getting back. We took a big loss on the farm this year. We had to come down on our price of eggs to move them.

I case you all did not know, we raise chickens for free range chicken eggs. Right now, we are a simple 1-2 store market, but we hope to have 200-300 chikens soon. We had 70 last year, but an animal got into them and we lost 33 of them. So now this year, we have to replace them. :sad2: That was a huge farm loss, because I had to figure the potential loss on those animals.

I use the UG site. . .I have the book. I like the TGM rankings, too, but I'm starting to notice he copies and pastes from one year to the next. Still, it was only $17.

Smilybug, I agree about the interest rates and watching them. I was angry with BOA about it because this was a contract we entered into 2 years ago. We were having a huge financial crisis at home and were three months behind on that loan. The BOA interest was like 21%. We agreed to allow them to deduct directly from our checking account monthly, freeze the account, and pay them off in X number of months if they reduced the interest rate to 2%. In November we looked at the bill and it had been raised to 19%! Come to find out that they took out the payment late in August, and their computer automatically because the payment was 3 days late, it decided to raise the rate. So for Sept, Oct, and Nov, they were charging us 19% interest and the only reason why I caught it was because I was shredding bills and noticed it. I called and they dropped the rate. I'm sure it was because they broke their own contract, but there you have it.

That is exactly what I mean. If you hadn't been paying attention you would have been paying extra for their mistake. (I'm glad you caught it.:thumbsup2 )

I'm out ya'll. The grocery store is calling.

creativeamanda...I do hope your girls are better soon. :goodvibes

Ok, multi-quote is easy:

when you look down at the bottom of someone's post, you see the "Quote" button, then next to that is a little box with the quote symbol on it - "

You click the " symbol box for multi-quote, and then use the regular "Quote" button when you are done multi-quoting and want to get to the reply box. The reply box will now show all the posts that you want to quote.

Voila!

.

creativeamanda, that's cool you have a free range chicken farm. Years ago my grandparents had an egg farm too.

My daughter came home this morning with very dark hair. I don't like it, but as long as she does, it doesn't matter what I like. :lmao:

We are having people at our camp tomorrow ice fishing. I have lots to get ready.
