Good morning Smileybug!:wave2:

Good morning all you other dancing babnanas!

Hey I want you guys to know that you are now the only one of my "regular" threads that I'm keeping in touch with these days. Cuz y'all are so special....:lmao:

No, srsly, I need to do a little less DISing (yes, creativeamanda, there's no such thing as too much, but....! ). So you guys are it.

You know I had managed so far to avoid hearing that song run through my mind this morning until you said that. :scared:  :rotfl:

Good morning all!

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm home sick with a viral throat infection today, so what better time to DIS?

LegoMom - I know exactly what you mean about slowing down your DISing. I've done the same. For the time being, I've also pared down my subscriptions. I just had far too much to keep up with!

OMG! There's actually life outside this computer desk?! :scared: :faint:

I need to take a moment...

That was more than my brain could handle...

Really, what I think my body needs is downtime. I probably could've made it to work and survived it, but at what cost? I never take time out of work like this and I'd rather not be sick all weekend, ya know? I've done nothing but lounge all morning and plan on napping this afternoon. I'm hoping a day of "nothing" has me feeling 110% by tomorrow.

:rotfl2: It's okay...take a deep breath...step back from your computer...you can do this...we will help you. NOT!! :lmao:

:goodvibes How is everything in your world today?

I'm a firm believer in doing what your body is telling you to do. I have fibromyalgia and there are times I can push through. But then there are times I have to listen and take care of myself. So...be good to you today. You are the only you that you have. :rotfl:

Smiley, you're so wise. :goodvibes

But you're right, and I know I'm not the only one who does it - we just get so involved what we should do for work, for our family, ect. that we ignore what we need to do for our very own minds, spirits and bodies.

Tink, get some rest and take care of yourself.

It's a beautiful winter day here. The sun is out, it's not windy and it may reach 30 today.

My daughter is at the Dr. Her boyfriend accidently hit her in the jaw this morning. She spent the night at a friends house after being there all day during her snow day. She is in pain, can't close her mouth all the way and it's a little swollen. The swelling did go down after ibuprofen and ice. Called at 8am and they couldn't get her in until noon. I thought they might just send her to the emergency room for an x-ray instead of making an appt.

I hope she is okay.
The mom in me is making me ask...positive it was an accident? I know things happen...I just had to say it. Please forgive if I over stepped.

No problem. Doesn't bother me at all if you ask. She said they were wrestling around. There were 2 other teenagers with them. I can't say for sure that they were in the room at the time. I got the quick version this morning when she called. I got an unexpected call right before hers from daycare asking if I could come in last minute so things were pretty hectic this morning. My husband picked her up. When she gets back, I will go over it again. I'm sure they will be asking her a bunch of ?'s at the Dr office and wondering if it really was an accident. So far there have been no signs of anything off with her boyfriend. They have only been going out a little over a month. I will certainly keep my eyes open. Lets just say I was in an awful relationship when I was in high school. I will take notice. Her last boyfriend was controling, manipulative and emotionally abusive. He never touched her, but the emotional abuse and control was awful. Took her a long time to get over him. It was scary. Oh and I should add NO she doesn't see any of that crap from my husband and I. No abusive relationship here. Just in case you were wondering. :lmao:

I felt horrible even asking but I was in one of "those" relationships along time ago as well. It's almost as bad to sit back and watch someone go through emotional abuse as physical. I have a niece that is in that kind of relationship. The rest of the family stays nervous for her. And it never crossed my mind that you and your hubby might have those types of issues. I think your buicks would eat him alive if ya'll did. :thumbsup2

Don't feel bad for asking. It doesn't bother me at all. Nice of you to be thinking of her well being. I could tell quickly that her other boyfriend was a scary headcase. He even knew he had problems and admitted he needed help. I used to point things out to her, but she had to come to that conclusion by herself. I try to find a positive side to it. Maybe she learned a lot from that awful relationship and will move towards only healthy ones now.

There was someone else in the room so they have a witness. They were wrestling and she playfully pulled his leg hair, he turned around quickly and elbowed her in the jaw. 1 side came out of place, but popped back in. That side is quite sore. She kept telling the Dr that the other side was painful. After feeling it the Dr said - no wonder you are in so much pain, your bone is chipped. She has shooting pains to her ears and through her head. Dr said it SHOULD heal on it's own. The side that popped back in does not feel right. If you put your fingers on the top of her jaw near her ears and she opens and closes her mouth, it feels like it pops in and out. She is eating oatmeal. Nice and soft and requires no chewing.

Oh and I forgot. You are right about the buicks. They are very protective and don't like too much wrestling around. They watch carefully. I love my money sucking beasts. My house would be empty without them. My husband plays at bars on many weekends and doesn't come home till the middle of the night. I feel safer having them here.

Does she really like oatmeal? Sounds like she is gonna be on soft foods for a while. I hope she heals quickly. :goodvibes

Yeah, she doesn't mind oatmeal. We have cream of wheat she can eat too. She eats that with syrup. We have never had a ton to choose from in my house. My kids learned early to eat what we have/I make or be hungry. :rotfl2:
