Ok, I am ten kinds of excited this morning!

Wanna know why??.....

Oh of course you do!

'K, here's why: I am planning a surprise trip to WDW for just me and hubby!!!!! I'm not positive when we'll actually be able to do it. I'd love to say next year, but life being what it is right now, I know that may not happen. So if it's the year after, I'm still good with it. After all I'm planning a trip!!!!!!!!!!! But then again, I think many of us around here "need" to be planning a trip at all times! :rotfl:

Anywho, at first I'm not even going to tell him I'm planning it at all. I have a separate ING savings account that I can put money into and he'll never know. Assuming next year: once summer rolls around and people at his work start planning their vacation days, I'll have to tell him I need him to save 4 days, but I can't tell him why. He trusts me, so I don't see that being a problem. As it gets really closer, I'll tell him we're doing the "just us" Disney trip (which he is ALL about!) but that I really had to scrimp and save so we can't stay at POR but we'll be staying at ASMovies or something. Again, he'll still be thrilled because he has said in the past that where we stay doesn't matter to him, because "we're there!" Love this man. So easy to please. What he won't know until we get there, is that we're staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

Srsly.... If I'm ever going to go Deluxe, it'll be without the kids on a shorter trip. Plus with just the two of us we'll really be able to slow down and enjoy our stay there.

So, what I'm looking at is 5-nights, pool view; 4-day Park Hoppers; dining plan (hopefully free but if not then I'll get the new quick-service plan). I really don't see Disney doing away with the Free Dining anytime soon. Esp. now with the sinking economy.

Best. Plan. Ever.

Yay for you!! I can't tell you how enjoyable these trips are. Hubby and I have found that 4 full days is enough for us. 1 full day in each park. (At this point we are pretty much ready for home) I'm gonna give you the same advice that I did when you were very first planning this last trip....Pick your perfect time frame and book the trip. You know the cancellation policy. Then you tweak the trip as you go. Once you pick your time frame you go on the hunt for those codes and specials. With our Dec trip I moved us from the WL to POFQ about a month ago to save some money. Before I called and made the switch I found a code that saved another $284.00 :yay: :yay: :yay: I'll be tweaking our May trip as well. Like your hubby....right now, all the bells and whistles aren't important. Its getting away to your favorite place with your most special person that is really important. I'm wishing you much pixiedust: that you are able to make this a reality for ya'll. :goodvibes

Legomom3 - that's great! You guys will have such an enjoyable time :goodvibes:

Thanks! We've wanted an "us" trip for a long time. Last one we had was before the kids were born, which was over 12 years ago! DH used to feel guilty when we talked about being in Disney without the kids, but after this last trip he agrees we need one just for the 2 of us!! :rotfl: We can get done in 4 days what it took all of us a week to do, and then some. I don't need a pool break every afternoon. I'm happy to just go for a dip at night when the parks close and we get back to the resort. And we have similar taste on almost everything so there's no need to take a vote or take turns! I really can't wait...

You guys deserve it! You'll be able to have a nice relaxing "you" trip. It opens up a lot of dining options too. Maybe a nice, quiet, romantic dinner or something. That's so great that you guys enjoy Disney trips so much even as adults; some people say the just do it for the kids  Yeah, right. When someone asks me where I'd go on vacation if I could go anywhere I always say Disneyworld. The Bahamas? Mexico? Sure, but WDW?? OF COURSE!!

Dude.

That is so great! I'm actually doing the same thing for Christmas next year. . .except we have to take the kids. No family to leave them with. But have fun (and loads of it) planning your trip!

The way I'm feeling about my in-laws right now, we won't be leaving our kids with familly either!! :rolleyes1

I'm sure that'll all change between now and this trip that I haven't even booked yet.

Or not.

Oh, yeah. I remember. The birthday/ice cream thing. Eck. I see what you mean. Has reality hit you yet that you are home? That's the major thing I am concerned about. That reality that I am home will not hit or when it does hit, I'll get depressed. At least the day we get back (Thursday), we will be having Halloween again that night. We have a wonderful speaker coming to talk to the kids on Friday at work, Monday is a Teacher Inservice Day, and Tuesday is Election Day. In reality, I'll have about 4-5 days to defragment before it's back to normal.

I still think you should have returned the favor and dropped off ice cream and cake crazed kids to your in laws house :rotfl:

   Congrats!!!!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks :rotfl:

I have a question and since you have a plethora of tags I thought maybe you could help. Do you get your tags when you're offline or do the tag fairy's take over while you're still on your account? Kind of random but I was just wondering...

:dance3: (I've always wanted to use this smiley)

I got all of my tags in the 1st and 2nd weeks of September. Both times, the Tag Fairy tagged me on a Sunday afternoon. The first 2 tags (the Snarky one and vacation one), she did while I was online. I posted on Legomoms PTR, and when I finished, I decided to read tags. All of the sudden I read one and thought, "That sounds like something I'd say." It was me. They were both stationary and then about an hour later, the snarky one moved.

The very next weekend, Sadiedog and I had the snake conversation and both of us got tagged.

So they hijack your account! That's funny. Have you ever stayed at POR before? It looks so pretty and relaxing. That's one of the only resorts I remember seeing when I was a kid. This will basically be my first real stay on property and i'm going to take so many pictures

Yeah. There is a way an administrator can take over and change around the tags/etc. I'm sure they could change your avatar if needed. When people get points, they sometimes have their avatar and/or signatures taken, or so I'm told.

Haven't been to POR before. This is my 2nd trip. We stayed at POP Century past time.

Pop Century looks so cool! My mom loved the Rubix Cube. The thing I love about the values is how "Disney" they are. I'd love to stay at the Poly too. Ever since I saw South Pacific when I was a kid I wanted to go to the Polynesian Islands but I might have to settle for the Poly
