Ummm, some of the more successful pirate captains were women! (and meanist!!)

(and you had to be voted in as captain!)

I stand corrected.

Anyone want to guess what I'm doing? Remember, I have 4 children (ages 9, 7, 6, and 37)

:laundy:

And my 9 yo is wearing her 3rd outfit today. GRRRR.

See, to me, the only good snake is a dead one. I don't do snakes.

One slithering around on me? No way, Jose!

I'm sure your ears hurt when you cough. Coughing puts pressure on your eardrums. I'm sure they hurt when you yawn, too.

Speaking of Jose, my margarita glass is empty. Hmmm. . .

Snakes are harmless here in Maine so I don't have to worry about them. I like it that way.

Did ya fix that empty glass? ;)

Yup. :thumbsup2

Well, you can have your snake. :rotfl: I'll leave it alone. I think most of our snakes are harmless, but I don't get close enough to ask them. . .

I hope you are feeling better. :goodvibes

:rotfl2:
Sure....just tell us how many of your hands you can hold up!!!! :cool2:
hehehehehehe

Uhm. . . .4. Or at least it looks like there are four of them. :confused3

ummmmmmm........Ursula????

My WDW tip of the day is, even for a short trip, comfortable shoes are a must. Do not, I repeat, do not, pick a pair of tennis shoes just because they match your outfit. :rolleyes1 Today was a pretty empty day at the Magic Kingdom.

We left the house at 8, then left again at 8:40 after a quick trip to Starbucks where we realized the little one did not have her sippie cup. We made it to the park by 10 a.m.. Our friends got there at opening. They had already gone on the railroad, Thunder Mountain, and Splash Mountain, twice. We met them at Splash Mountain. My DD and DH jumped on (5 minute standby!) while I took the little one to see Goofy and shop. Once our party of 11 was together again, we headed to the Haunted Mansion. Another 5 minute wait. The weather was already proving to be hot and humid, without a cloud in sight. There was a breeze, but we knew we were in for a scorcher.

At 11:30 we headed into the Harbor House for fish and chips. Then it was on to Peter Pan. The wait was the longest we saw all day, 30 minutes. We decided to get fast passes instead. Then we headed to Small World, the carousel and Winnie the Pooh. Back to Peter Pan and then a stop for Raspberry Lemonade Slushes. I wanted my DD2 to nap, so the rest of the gang headed to Space Mountain while I went to Toontown Fair. I figured walking in the a/c would help her sleep. I figured wrong. Even though the child woke up from 1 a.m. to 5 a.m. in the middle of the night, she refused to sleep at the park. But she was always in a great mood. :cutie:

I grabbed her a milk (aka nilk) from Cosmic Rays before meeting our group at Space Mountain. Turns out one half the group went one side and finished early enough to hit the Speedway. The lines really were just so short all day.

Next we headed to Buzz Lightyear then my favorite, the People Mover. DD2 was close to falling asleep, and so was I. We took another snack break and the girls went crazy pin trading. I don't think one of the girls kept a pin for more than 5 minutes before finding something else they wanted to trade it for. :lmao: DH and I wanted the Haunted Mansion pin pack sold in Frontierland so we headed that way again.

We all bought quite a few pins to keep and trade. I really love the Donald Duck rubber duckie series. :thumbsup2 A few of us jumped on Aladdin's Carpet ride while the rest went into the Tiki room. Then we walked right on POTC. I apologize to whoever is in the boat with us, because we really like singing the Pirate song along with the ride. pirate: Though apologizing isn't very pirate of me. I found a cute pirate outfit (ON SALE!) for DD2 to wear on our upcoming Disney cruise.

We hit our first snag of the day at 5:30. We got in line for Jungle Cruise. It was a 20 minute wait. Or so we thought. When we were close to the front of the line, it stopped. We waited for another 20 minutes before giving up. As we walked off, we saw a boat full of jungle captains towing another boat full of passengers. I actually think that would be a fun ride to get stuck on.

After getting a sandwich at the Bakery (and a really good Banana Nut Bread Pudding), we headed home. DD2 fell asleep within 2 minutes of getting in the car. And I plan to do that about 2 minutes after logging off the Dis.

I sure hope LegoMom had a great time at AK today. It was such a hot day and that is the hottest park. But if her lines were as short as mine, it shouldn't have been too bad.

Good morning.

Mean Queen, what a good day. I couldn't take it all day in the heat though. The little pirate outfit will bo so cute. I love pirates.

I'm trying to choke down some food so I can take my antibiotic and hope I don't feel like losing it in the truck. That reminds me, I better have a plastic bag ready just in case.

I have been waiting all year for this day. Today my husband and I are going to Loudon NH for the NASCAR race. My dear friend gave me tickets for my b-day. I just wish I was not sick. It was so difficult getting up at 5am. I'm already feeling pretty dizzy so not looking forward to riding in the truck for about 3 hours. I've been so excited for this day to come. Maybe I will start to feel better as the day goes on. Have a good day. Not sure yet if I'm coming home tonight or sleeping at my husbands brothers. One thing I know, I sure hope I don't have to sit in the rain for hours.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL

Mean Queen...have you ever been on a Satureday with crowds so low? sounds like it was a great day!!

SadieDog...Hope you are feeling better and enjoy the race!!

Creativeamanda...when it comes to doing laundry...four hands are better than two.

Grumpy Pirate...Thanks for the fun pirate facts. :thumbsup2

To everyone else :grouphug: have a great day!!

Not in a long time. DH and I said the only time we've seen crowds lower was right after 9/11. Most of the people there were from foreign countries or Florida residents.

I have to share something annoying from yesterday. We were in the FP line at Peter Pan, when a few people tried to jump in line with their friends (without going through the CM to show their fast passes.) The group behind us got caught and kicked out. They had friends who were ahead who apparently weren't caught when they did the same thing. Because they tried to sneak in with our large group. Then when the CM found they didn't have FP either, they tried to feign ignorance and a lack of understanding English. Um, if you didn't know you needed a special ticket, why did you skip around the first CM and try to do it again? At first, the CM was going to just let them through. But the people around them (including one of my friends) got very upset. So the CM did send them out of line.

My feet are killing me today. I got blisters on both feet. :headache: I'm taking it easy, just watching TV with the girls then football later. Poor DH had a golf tournament at 7 this morning. :rolleyes1 I'm sure he's pretty tired.

I still am not finished with laundry. . .oh well. And my cold is not gone and since the girls were sent home from school sick this week, no way am I going to church. I always fear that if I do go and am sick, one of the older ladies there who always has to hug me and my children is going to get sick and they are going to end up in the hospital. I feel like when we are sick or have been sick, we can watch the webcast our church does at 5:00.

Mean Queen, your day sounds wonderful! I enjoyed reading your mini TR. :)

I have to go to Tractor Supply today and pick up something for dh and to Payless and replace dd9's tap shoes. Then I'm going to add to my PTR, finish laundry, and read Twilight. Oh, and lesson plans at some point. Busy Sunday. I would rather just sleep.

Sorry about the line cutters. I usually try to close my eyes to that kind of behavior. But sometimes it does get the best of you. And yuks on the blisters. Were you wearing new shoes? I'm still trying to decide what I'm going to wear. Tennis shoes or athletic shoes of any kind hurt the tops of my feet if I am in them for any length of time. I found this out on our last trip. I do better in a ballet type shoe. So I have been looking for something soft and supportive like that.

What has been happening to the gas prices around you? We have gone up .50 to .60 cents around here. I hope it doesn't get any higher.

It's going to be interesting to hear what LegoMom has to say about crowd levels the whole week. I do hope she has had a great time.

Enjoy your day of rest!! :goodvibes

Smileybug, you are lucky--our gas went up $1.00 in Mullins from 8:00am Friday morning to 12:00noon Friday. Some stations ran out of gas. And since I only put Exxon gas in my car (because of their lack of detergent additives--if I am buying gas, I'm buying gas, not soap; I can have my fuel injectors cleaned thankyouverymuch), I had to pay top dollar.

Hubby and I ran down to Savannah friday night to the Bass Pro Shop. We got to talking to someone that said rumors were going around that their gas was going to $6.00 a gallon. :sad2: We has already seem gas stations advertising $4.69 on the way down. :sad2: I really hope this is very short lived.

From when we left for Disney yesterday and came home last night, we noticed a 20 cent increase. I'm afraid to go check it this morning. I need gas after our road trip yesterday. :scared:

I wore tennis shoes, but they were a pair more for looks than comfort. I should have worn my good pair of tennis shoes. I just figured tennis shoes are tennis shoes, I was wrong. Good shoes are a must for the parks. :thumbsup2

I'm sure LegoMom is having a great time. The weather has been pretty nice, but hot. And if the crowds yesterday are in indication of the rest of her trip, she's in for a great time.
