I even did WDW a few weeks after Septemeber 11th. Everyone was afraid to go to the parks because they were high profile targets. But we refused to let anyone stop us from living our lives as normal as possible. Seeing Disney so desolate and empty was something I will always remember. Living here, it's not really a big deal to do something like Disney when a hurricane is on the way. We know we have a few days before we have to take action.

Funny story about that. We were supposed to go down the 16th and back the 25th. I was at a confrence in L.A. and was supposed to go on vacation after returning.

Then 9/11 happened so I had to cancel the trip. It would have been a bad vacation, and I would not have been able to have fun and relax.

we finally went the next year.

For the most part, yes. I didn't expect to feel better so soon but of course that's a good thing. I go back to work tonight though ... Doc told me to stay off work for a week and it's only been 5 days. But hey - in work time, 5 days is a week.

I am happy that you are doing so well!!! But something tells me that your doctor meant 7 days not 5. So please take it easy.

I remember those days!!!!! If I close my eyes I can still feel those cuddles too. One day there will be grandkids. And more cuddling!! I know...I'm a sapp.

I hope my girls always want to cuddle. I cuddled with my mom right up until the end. Well, except for the teenage years when I was too cool and angsty to be near my parents in public.

Next, DeterminedOne - please take care of yourself!! I know what it's like to want to get back to normal but just don't push yourself too hard so that you end up relapsing and taking even longer to recover! Not good.

It's a beautiful day but feeling very fall-like. I'm in shorts because I'm stubborn but I'm also wearing a long-sleeve shirt.... The in-laws are coming by later today to visit (won't see them again before our trip) and we're having a cook-out. I have some ribs and also a pork roast that I'm putting on the smoker. Mmmmm!

Other than that I'm doing the one-week dance and trying from getting so giddy that my kids disown me. Then again, they'd better remember who put this trip together!!!

What is this Fall you speak of? I've heard of it, but from what I gather, it's similar to our Winter. And that doesn't come for quite a few more months. Though it has been a bit cooler and windy from Gustav. I guess it's time to check on the other storms on the horizon.

It's nearly 3:00 and I am STILL awake. I've had an even harder time sleeping though cause I can only sleep on my back. I took Tylenol PM last night and still only slept four hours. Oh well. Although I'm not asleep I've pretty much just been resting all day. I'm actually looking forward to going back to work ... kind of ... I've been so bored just lying around but I think that is why my recovery has been going so well because I've been taking it very easy. And hubby is a gem. He has taken such good care of me.
