Hi DO!! How is life in your part of the world?

LegoMom...How is the homeschooling curriculum coming along?

Haven't. Even. Started. :headache:

Well, not entirely true, if you count the cleaning up I did yesterday in the file drawer where I keep all their schoolwork! It's cleaned up and ready for a new year.

What I really need to decide on is math (pretty much made the choice there, just need to get it) and Language Arts (no clue...). And the problem isn't lack of materials/choices, it's too many!! :rotfl:

And it doesn't help that all I want to do today is get the luggage down from storage, clean it up, start packing stuff we won't use in the next three weeks, and make a count-down poster for the kids!

What are you up to today?

Just trying real hard to get over the "lost" feeling. Hubby flew out to Mo. yesterday. And I'm telling you, the older we get the harder it is to be apart. The kids are out on the water today. So its just me and the furbabies at home. An my poor little Oscar...he just keeping making this sighng noise. He misses his daddy. (he is a daddys boy) So I'm Dising and following a weather blog. I'm glad Fay will be gone by time ya'll are ready to take your trip. Right now I do feel sorry for the people going next week though. :sad2: But on a happy note I'm watchig the travel channel. They are having a Disney marathon on today. :goodvibes

I'm back. It was 90 miles to the mall then the dreaded 90 miles to get home. I had a headache that I just couldn't shake. The stores made it worse.

WARNING: DO NOT ENTER Hollister or Abercrombie with a headache. By the time you leave, you will want to chop your head off. Between the loud music and the purfume, it was torture. Normally the loud music if fine, but not with a headache.

No good deals. Prices in those stores are ridiculous. She is happy with her 4 items though. Compared to her friends, she hardly has any clothes. I can't blame her for wanting a few nice items from those stores when all her other friends have tons of it. \

She just gave me a pair of jeans that don't fit her anymore. I must say the tight low ride jeans are NOT comfortable. Of course they are way too long. She gave me 2 other pairs a while ago that are long too. Maybe I could shorten them. Of course that would involve sewing. :rotfl: It's the only way I get new clothes. :rotfl:

Cute how he misses your husband.

I will have to put the travel channel on.:)

Not much. I lead a pretty boring life.:rolleyes1 Sorry you are missing your DH. Will you get to talk to him a few times I hope?

My hubby left here about 11:30 yesterday morning. We have already had 7 conversations. :rotfl: I just got off the phone with him. I've called him twice and he has called me 5 times. :goodvibes He just missed his connecting flight in Atlanta yesterday. They had just closed the gate. Wouldn't let him on. The man at the counter told him he should have gotten to the gate on time. He had just gotten off his plane and had to run to the gate. :sad2: So he had to wait 4 hours for the next flight. As time was drawing near he realized that his flight wasn't being posted on the board. So he went and asked about it. They had moved it to another gate without any kind of announcement. :scared1: He said it took him 15 minutes to get to the new gate and he just made that flight. :sad2: So he wasn't to happy with Delta and Atlanta yesterday. :sad2:

DO...your trip is just around the corner too!! You must be getting excited!!  Is everything planned and booked?

Ride TSM for me :)

I did! Twice. ;)

We got up today in time for opening at DHS. Won't do that again. We (and hundreds of other people) thought we'd get there for opening and run to TSM to get fast passes. One friend we went with had trouble with her ticket. So we went ahead to get fast passes. We got held up by the opening show. When the crowd was let go, they directed the traffic straight to TSM and blocked off all short cuts. :headache: DH, me, both my DD's and my friends DD made a beeline. The line for fast passes was enormous. DH got in line while I parked the stroller. My friend who had trouble with passes called and she was at the front of the FP line. But I couldn't find DH to give her the tickets (including her own!) Our other group of friends caught up with us. We handed DH all the tickets and headed into the stand-by line. Wait time - 30 minutes. 2 seconds later - Wait time - 50 minutes. :headache:

10 of the 11 of us waited in line while my DH waited in the FP line. We were close to the non-talking (today) Mr. Potato Head when DH said he was finally done. It was too late to have him join us, so we told him to hit the single rider line. Luckily, we managed to meet up later on in the line. At first the single rider went faster, then it stopped enough for us to catch up. After the ride, we found out he had trouble with the fast pass machine. All but the last ticket went fine. The last one took a few tries, until the CM finally used his own pass to get it to work. That pass was 35 minutes behind all the others. :sad2:

We managed to get right on Little Mermaid, then Playhouse Disney. The rain started so we hung out in the animation play area and got pictures with Sorcerer Mickey. We had lunch then had a short 10-minute wait for Star Tours. When we got off, the wait was 35 minutes! We were lucking out. We killed some more time at the pin station before our time to ride TSM came again. The FP line went quick. The ride is so amazing. I can't wait until you all get to try it out.

We headed to Epcot. The girls wanted to see all the Pokemon stuff in Japan. :confused3 We lucked out again and got a good parking spot at the very end of the line, near the entrance. :cool1: Japan was really all we did there. My little one hadn't napped, so we kept trying to get her too. So we just shopped and snacked. Some of the party went to Spaceship Earth, but I hit Mousegears. We plan to go back to Epcot soon. We had just got there so late, the lines were long and the fast passes were gone. So was all our energy.

We went back to the hotel. We had dinner at Zen, an Asian restaurant at the Omni. Very yummy, VERY expensive. Then came the payoff. I grabbed a strawberry mojito and a raft and floated around the lazy river. My DD2 was on my lap for most of the time. I think we floated for 2 hours. It was so relaxing, yet fun. If you ever want to stay at a premium hotel off-site, this is a great place.

Tomorrow, we leave. :sad1:

Hi Mean Queen!! Sounds like ya'll have had another great trip to Disney!! Have a safe trip home tomorrow!!

Mean Queen - sounds like a nice trip. Hope you had fun for those of us stuck in the real world. :)

Smiley - You are right - Vegas will be here soon. Everything is pretty much taken care of. I still have to find a hotel in Indy. That is where we are flying from so we will spend the night there Saturday and fly out Sunday morning. The hotel where we've stayed before is booked, which I can't figure out why. Have to find something close to the airport with a free shuttle and free parking so we don't have to leave our car at the airport. I also still need to book the rental car in Vegas but holding out on that until about 2-3 weeks prior. It was suggested that I try Priceline or a service like that to get a good deal. I've never used a service like that so we will see. But I've read stories of folks getting vehicles on the cheap ($12 a day) so I want to try it. Other than those things everthing is all set to go.

Your poor DH and the four hour delay sounds awful. The airlines really have no sympathy with that kind of stuff even when it's their fault. But I think it's sweet that he has called you so many times.

GOOD MORNING YA'LL!!

I hope you all have a beautiful day full of contentment!!

Mean Queen: a) your story about the mad rush to TSM does NOT make me anxious to be part of that mayhem!! :scared1: If the crowds are still that bad next month, we may or may not see it, no matter how awesome it is!

Ok, and b)....they have Pokemon stuff in Japan?!? My boys will flip if they do!!

I bet you get to ride TSM so many times ya'll come back park champs!! In between trying to keep your boys out of Japan in Epcot of course. Because after all you would like to see more that disnay has to offer. :rotfl2:

The sun is out today. I did see it yesterday between a shower in the am and an afternoon thunderstorm.

Smiley, your husbands travel day sounded like a headache. Very sweet how you miss each other so much.

Mean Queen, TSM must be pretty fun if you keep going back to it even though you have to deal with the crowds. It's our least favorite park so nice to hear they have something else that we will enjoy. Tower of Terror and RnR Coaster were the main attractions for us. HATE Star Tours. Made my daugher and I sick.

Sun is still out. :cool1: I'm off to take the dogs for a walk in the woods and hopefully not bring home any ticks. :lmao:

TSM is so worth it. Just send ONE member of your party to get in the Fast Pass line while the rest try to catch up and get in the stand-by line. Of course, this weekend was a bit busier because all of us seasonal passholders were finally able to go again. September is generally lower crowds. The ride is a game, so we keep going back trying to beat our last score. I got 152k and DH got 175k last time! The game even gives you virtual prizes. :rotfl2:

Japan does have Pokemon stuff. DD and her friends just got into it big time. They had a bunch of the stuffed pokedolls, small Pokemon plastic figures, and other stuff that held no interest for me, but thrilled the poke masters. I loved the Hello Kitty area. :thumbsup2

DHS has become a must-do for us because of TSM. Otherwise, we just went there for the Osbourne Lights around Christmas and that was it. Glad to hear you got some sun. A sunny day can really make a difference.

Well, today would have been a great day to wake up to a scrollie....thanks a lot Tag Fairy....:headache:

DS11 had a friend sleep over last night. They woke me up with their noise level at 1am, 2am, and 3am.....(when I finally blew my top on them and all h*ll broke loose). Now, at 7am, the friend is awake and yelling at DS to "get up!" So DS comes out of his room just now:

Me: What are you doing??
DS: What, I'm up!
Me: So you slept for FOUR hours. And everyone else is STILL asleep, so you need to sit and do something VERY quiet in your room.
DS: (shuffles back to his room and closes door)

Do you have any idea of the price I'm gonna pay for this later today, when I am as exhausted as he is???!!!

And now, I have to pull myself together and get ready for work.

Worst. Night. Ever.
