Happy November, all!! Just think - a few more weeks and we will be cooking/eating a turkey dinner. Yum!

Yum indeed! Lately I almost prefer Thanksgiving over Christmas. Probably because a) there are no expectations, it's just time to be with family, and b) my SIL always makes ham on Christmas which is not my favorite meal at all....

Actually, in just 3 weeks I'll be boarding the Magic to avoid cooking my own turkey dinner. Of course, DH asked me to make one the weekend before so he doesn't miss out on my turkey. Darn my good cooking skills! At least we'll be able to enjoy the leftovers and save some money leading up to the cruise. And still avoid relatives on Thanksgiving.

I can't wait to eat turkey this year! I was a vegetarian for the past two years and didn't get to have turkey on thanksgiving But that's over now so wahoo!

we always cook two turkeys and about four or five baskets of chicken!!

I did because I felt bad about eating animals. I was vegan for awhile and then I became anemic. I decided that while I love animals I also love the way they taste too Two turkeys and five baskets of chicken? Dang, do you guys live on a farm??

Umm, no, no farm.

Since I hve the fryer set up, its just as easy to cook two turkeys (each takes about an hour!)

WE eat one for dinner, then cut the second one up for "leftovers" for everyone to take home.

Same with the chicken, deep fryed in peanut oil is wonderful. DW puts them into the freezer in small packages for meals for us. Plus send some home with the guests!

(after the meat, I also fry up thin sliced potatos!! the rub from the turkey and chicken gets in the oil, and the flavor is great!!!)

Burp!!!

Fried turkey. . .yummy! And that's the only way to fry chicken--you don't get popped with grease and it's already set up so less mess.

I just hope it can just be the five of us this year. I love seeing everyone but Thanksgiving is a rough time for me and people just don't realize it. My dad passed away the day after Thanksgiving several years ago.

The trip was awesome! We are stil recuperating--I have been extremely tired the past couple of days.
