Is NOTHING sacred anymore???!!!!

Official from Disney: Cinderella's Golden Carousel will have its name changed to Prince Charming's Regal Carousel as of June 1.:headache:

One person commented on Facebook that this must be Disney's lame attempt to try to draw boys into the over-princessed new Fantasyland. I mean, it doesn't affect me either way because my boys are outgrowing the real little-kid stuff anyway, but come ON people!

Ugh. Just ugh.

.

That is a really stupid idea. With all the toy story stuff, POTC etc. I don't see why they need to change the carousel name to attract boys. My son thinks they are lame anyway and a name change isn't going to change his mind!

Stupid. It does sound like it's a lame attemp try to attract boys. Like the name is going to make a difference. :confused3

Good morning, babnanas! Tomorrow is the last day of school for students. Friday morning we have close out, and then we'll be on the raod for Orlando!

OMG this brought tears to my eyes.

Didn't mean to make you cry, hon. I'm sure that's not the last time you'll hear a story like that from me. My Mom was a planner, everything way in advance. Which, truthfully, will make the coming year a little easier.

 I joined a little late.. I didn't realize you lost your mom so recently. I'm sorry you have to go through that, especially while you're expecting. You know she's your angel though.

Thank you. Yes...actually, it's almost been a month now, which is really weird for me to think of.

It's Tuesday, and I decided to play hookey from work today. I'm catching up on stuff at home, and enjoying the warm sunshine.. :goodvibes I have a lot of catching up to do, but I'm not making much progress now am I? Well, I have a zillion errands to run before the kids come home from school, but I'm checking in while the little guy is napping... no one wants to drag a cranky kid around because they missed thier nap. My goal is to have my garden planted before I go to bed tonight. The dog dug up flowers I planted last night. I think I go backwards... anyone else feel like that?

I so wish I could have played hookey yesterday! My dad took my son to see Shrek while I was at work, and they had a blast!

Sometimes I feel like I take one step forward, two steps back. Don't worry, you'll get everything done. :thumbsup2

The new cria at Bent Pine Alpacas. His name is Adams. The gentleman who owns the farm names the crias after the counties in PA. This guy is the 11th male in a row. We were really hoping for a female.

He's so cute!

Are you serious? I guess you must be since you posted it here. What next, it makes me wonder? And is somebody going to stop me if I keep calling it Cinderella's Carousel? :lmao:

WOO HOO!!!! :thumbsup2

Morning, folks!

I have the day off today, so I think we'll run some errands. I actually need to help Nana get her car to the dealership to have some work done, but after that I think we'll do a few things.

I'd really like to go online and pick out a crochet pattern for a baby blanket, and then get the appropriate yarn. Typically, I make all the baby blankets when someone has a baby. One of my co-workers said, if I knew how, hon, I 'd make it for you, which was really sweet. Still, it would be good for him to have one that's from me. My DS does as well.

I'm thinking the light blue / chocolate brown combo would be really nice. :thumbsup2

Didn't sleep well last night, or long enough. Carpy way to start the day! I've GOT to go for my run this morning; had too many days off. Also have a full morning of "spring cleaning" in the camp dorms. I see a nap in my afternoon!!

amanda - WOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe your trip is already here!! Hope it's just awesome. You deserve it!

:banana:LUCKY!!! We're still in the triple digits. That's the best feeling knowing you're all packed and on your way. I love when I hit the little monorail at Orlando airport. Then it's official. My trip is just beginning! But it's funny how the weeks leading up to the trip seem to drag, and then when we arrive, time does this warp speed thing, and it's the fastest week in history.

What kind of ADRs did you make? maybe you've talked about it already, but I missed them. I love to hear what kind of plans and places people make. My DH wants me to plan ALL new places for this next trip or least if we haven't gone to it in the last 5 years. I think that's hard to do, since we love so many places, but he's right, we should try a few and maybe they'll be our new favorites. Last time I was afraid the kids might not like Teppan Edo, but it turns out they loved it and often ask to go to a local Hibachi house around here. We're pretty much plain pizza and white bread type of people, so I am nervous to try some places. I guess I'm afraid to waste an ADR on a place that we'll be disappointed in. Have any of you guys tried somewhere that you were disappointed and or think was over-rated? Or vice- versa?

Tarzanskat..... :sad1:so sorry about your mom.

Did you get all your cleaning done and most of all did you get your nap in?

Yes, I got the cleaning done and no, I didn't nap! I cleaned for 2 hours this morning, came home for lunch, then went back over and cleaned for another 2+ hours! But that dorm is sparkly clean, I'll tell ya! After I finished over there, I came home for a much-needed shower and now I've got to figure out dinner. I hate the weeks that I don't plan out the meals!!

...

I have yet to be disappointed by a meal at Disney. The one place we ate that I was actually afraid to try, based on so many reviews here on the DIS, was Sci-Fi Dine In Theater at DHS. We LOVED it!! No, the food isn't gourmet, but it wasn't bad, either! We went for lunch and got standard burger and sandwich fare. Dessert was awesome, as were the milkshakes!

If I was ever "disappointed" by food at Disney, it has to be dessert at Boma. We loved the dinner buffet there (meat, meat and more meat!), but with all the hype over Zebra Domes I was expecting something a little more substantial than a bite-sized morsel!! They were yummy, don't get me wrong, but just way too tiny. Actually if memory serves, most of the dessert offerings there were tiny.

We have ADRs at Liberty Tree, Cape May, Chef Mickey's, Teppan Edo, Captain's Grille, Kona Cafe, Tutto Italia, 1900 Park Fare, Crystal Palace, and Boatwright's. The only place I've really been disappointed with was the Yachtsman Steakhouse.

One place people always complain about but we love is Mama Melrose's.

I love the Yachtsman, but wasn't thrilled wih Mama Melrose's. Kona Cafe is a favorite of mine. We may be at Chef Mickey's for breakfast on Monday. We have reservations, just aren't sure if our whole party wants to go. I know I do!!!!

It was a bad experience all around for me. Disney actually comped me that meal.

Monday is our Epcot/Animal Kingdom day. Our reservations for Chef Mickey's is that night before the AK EMH. My son has already informed me that we WILL be up at HS early Sunday morning for Star Wars weekend. He really only wants to see the storm troopers and the 11:15 parade, but he's convinced we have to be there real early.

I have a confession--I've never seen Rocky Horror. They played it like a million times in college, but I never went.
