TK, I agree with LegoMom. Buying a home is such a BIG thing to do. Hold off until you know ya'll are really ready. The only thing that concerns me is having a place paid for in our "golden" years.

It is a big thing and it scares the you know what out of me.

I went to the World many times while pg, then took the little one for her first trip at 4 months. There's no bad time to go to your happy place. And it sounds like you need a little time with your mommy at your happy place. Though if you're looking for unbiased opinions on a Disney trip, don't go to a Disney board. That's like trying to ask Kimmar to be serious. Impossible.

Ha. Are you implying that if I were addicted to chocolate I shouldn't walk into Ghiradelli's for moral support? ;)

I just would love a little break right now, to get away, eat some good Disney food, and not think about these things.

TK--I wanna weigh in on the house buying thing. Save. Save. Save. And then don't buy a house. Buy a piece of property and build. You don't have to worry about disclosure or something not being quite right.

Oh, and take that Disney trip.

Off. Soapbox. Now.

Hope everyone has a great week!

You make a good point. I know my husband would love to build a house, so that is something to consider.

And on the Disney trip, yes, ma'am. :thumbsup2

Good morning ya'll. :goodvibes

Morning, Smiley.

[....hey, when I'm sleeping, I'm DEAD SERIOUS....]

Ha! Well, I should hope so.:lmao:

Well, DH and I had a big old talk last night, and I feel loads better.

He came up with some possible solutions to some of my perceived stresses that I hadn't even thought of and was so grateful for. It also involved him picking up some more responsiblity, and I'm grateful that I have a husband who willingly volunteers. I'm very blessed.

So, in short, we'd like to stay in the town we're in and we're going to do what we can to make that work. One step at a time.

If we're having a boy, I'm leaning heavily toward renting one of the beautiful two bedroom townhomes in this complex. They would give us a ton more space, and that would be so great. Then we wouldn't have to worry about buying just yet, and we could just chill a little, and know that we're in a place we love.

If it's a girl, I'll reassess in March when we find out. Like I said, one step at at time.

DH gave the thumbs up for the Disney trip, so all I'm waiting on is approval from work.

Fingers crossed.

I want to thank you all for listening and offering your advice. You're a great group of ladies, and I appreciate the sounding board. It's difficult to talk to family about these things because they all have their own biases and opinions, and especially in my family there's a lot of, "well, obviously, you should do this..." It can be frustrating.

So thank you!

....okay, you've got me curious :scratchin - why would it matter if it's a boy or girl?? Don't you need to find a bigger place either way??:confused3

Thought maybe we could all use a little funny fer our Mondayz.....

My dad is having bypass surgery this morning. Today. Guess it's a long ordeal! I'm optimistic but oh so preoccupied and it's hard to do anything else. Fortunately it's a slow school day for the kids, since Monday is normally DH's day off.

At least we're finally warming up today!!! Back into the 50s where we should be in TX in January! Yeesh....

And, to keep the happy thoughts flowing, I'm also transferring money around and heading over to Dreams Unlimited shortly to get a quote for my solo, so I can hopefully book on Friday!!
[b-day present.....!]

Have a great day everyone!

Well, here's my thought process.

If it's a girl, eventually they're going to need separate bedrooms. I can't imagine a teenage boy sharing a bedroom with a 10 year old girl. (They'll be a five year age difference.) And that would influence where we move. If we moved to one of the two bedroom townhomes, it would only be on a temporary basis until we found a home we liked, I think.

If it's a boy I wouldn't feel so badly about them sharing a room on a more permanent basis.

Thought maybe we could all use a little funny fer our Mondayz.....

Hey there!

I will keep your dad in my thoughts and prayers today.

Good luck with working out the details for your trip. How exciting!

...okay - THAT makes more sense! :) [...I forgot that you had another boy... ]

Granted, my son won't be a teenager for another...eight years, so that is quite a bit of time. LOL

I like to think ahead, I guess.

Although, there's definitely a way around that, don't they make those beautiful Asian looking screens that you can divide rooms with? :lmao:

Will be holding your dad near in positive thoughts and prayer - as well as the team caring for him.

How exciting to be booking a trip this week! (is your b-day this Friday?)

I've been hoping to go down in Feb for just a few days to meet a DID friend who will be there for a week - but so far nothing is coming together. Dontcha just hate when that happens? :sad2:

Good Morning, Monday! :goodvibes

LegoMom....You and your Dad are in my prayers and thoughts today as well. :grouphug:

I have a question about your solo. Why are you looking at booking through Dreams Unlimited? Why not book it yourself? Just curious. :cutie:

Morning, Minnie&Nana!

I hope your February trip comes to fruition! :goodvibes

TK, another thing to think about.....If ya'll are thinking about buying land. Consider a modular home. Our neighbors are in a modular home and you would never know the difference. They come in any size or layout you could want. (Theirs is 3600 sq.ft) Not only is it faster than stick built but it is usually cheaper.(But just as well made.:thumbsup2) We really wish we had thought about doing this. And here some of the places that sell these homes also offer land package deals. Might be worth it to check into.

...wow, that's big!

....is it in a trailer park, or on a 'regular street', like regular houses??

We live in a very small private community where everyone has at least 3 acres or more. But we have guidelines in place as to what type of structure is allowed. Their home is a modular home. It was brought in in sections and it is permanent. I think you are thinking mobile home. Which there are some gorgeous mobile homes as well. :thumbsup2 But those aren't allowed in here. And I'm not being snooty. :snooty: :) :rotfl:

That's not a bad idea, thanks! I know they make some beautiful modular homes.

I always book our packages with Dreams and would really never consider doing otherwise! I have a great rep there who I request and she's wonderful. First of all, your Dreams rep will keep a look out for any deals or discounts that can applied to your package, so I know I am getting the best deal when it's all said and done. Also, if I'm booking ADRs, SHE makes all the phone calls!! I don't have to sit on hold (on a toll call no less...) waiting for Disney to answer the phone. I give her my list of where I want to eat and on what days, approx. times, and she does the rest. Also, with Dreams, I can do 100% of the booking and paying on-line. I don't know if it's different with Disney packages, but I know when I had a "room"-only reservation for the campsite at the Fort, once it was booked, I had to then do all subsequent transactions by phone. With Dreams, I just pull up my reservation and make a payment right on the site. I really prefer that.

TK!!!!.....You have a TICKER!!!!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana:
