Tagless & Formerly Tagless 5 :: The Babnanas are still dancin'!

My dog, Dega, went to the vet this morning for hernia surgery. I can call at 3:30 to see how she is doing. They thought she would be able to come home today. I hope so! My other dog was looking for her when I came home from work. I had to take her to work this morning. She sat in the car until it was time to drop her off. The vet is not far from daycare. She was so happy to go with me this morning, but little did she know what was in store. She is pretty friendly and walked off happily with the vet tech.

....aw-w-w-w-w...:sad1:

Good morning, babnanas!

I've been horrible at catching up here, so forgive me.

SadieDog, I hope your dog is better and can come home soon!

I have some good news, my doctor has recommended a reduction in hours, so I'll only be working 20 hours a week now, and still maintaining my Wed - Sat schedule. My branch is starting new extended hours on Monday, which means no more set schedule however, we are going to have a rotation. This will basically s-u-c-k when my son goes to kindergarten, but I figure I at least have part of my maternity leave to figure that all out, and let me just say, my tired pregnant body is so grateful to have shorter shifts, and to no longer have to do a 9 hour Friday.

I've had to get one of those belly bands for extra support, because everything is just pulling so much on my lower back, and let me tell you, that thing is like a god send. And shockingly, it only cost $18. Go figure. Most maternity type stuff is ridiculous.

So things are going well over here, the baby is doing fine, good strong heartbeat, everything is progressing as it should, and I'm enjoying a nice Friday morning to myself while DS is at preschool and DH is at work. I don't have to go in until 130. Color me happy. :goodvibes

...yay!!:thumbsup2

Woke up to SNOW covered lawn and it's still SNOWING!

Woke up to SNOW covered lawn and it's still SNOWING!

Yuck. Wanna take a trip South? It's supposed to be 88 degrees here today.

So, I got up at 5:55 am to make my dining reservations for my trip in October. All the systems are down. And now I can't go back to sleep. Uggg.

BTW--my plans have changed a little. The Oct trip is not going to be solo. It's going to be with my 11yo daughter. And we're doing the dining plan (regular).

TK, great the belly band helps and you got your 20 hours.

Mean Queen, good luck with keeping the surprise.

LegoMom, if my husband was picking me up at the airport, I would take the later flight. If I had to drive myself home, the 1 1/2 hours drive at night when I was that tired, would not be good for me. I've fallen asleep at the wheel before and it's very scary.

My dog had to spend the night at the vet Thursday night. I could have taken her home with extreme caution, but it was not worth the risk. If the stitches open up they said it would be a much more expensive and more serious operation where they would have to put some mess thing in to keep it closed. She has only been in her crate and taken out by leash to go to the bathroom. Very restricted activity.

That's great news about the reduced hours. I tried that with my first but my work said I couldn't do it. It was either all or start FMLA leave. Good price on the belly band. Mine was a back saver too.

I'm very fortunate in that the corporation I work for has been good about accomodating. My supervisor's attitude has been a whole other story, but one day at a time, right?

Soooooo. DH is recovering from shoulder surgery and has been pretty depressed about it. He can't go back to work for another 2 weeks and workers comp will only pay us 66% of his pay for that time. Luckily, someone he freelances for offered him work he can do from home that will more than cover our loss. Can you guess what we're doing with the rest? pirate: We've cancelled our August BLT Grand Villa and booked a cruise instead. It will be a total surprise for the kids. They won't know until we get near the port the day of. I hope I can keep the secret. I'm very bad about that.

Congrats on getting the work at home freelancing! That's great to have something that will help pick up that slack for you, and how much fun to have booked the cruise! I'm a horrible secret keeper in regard to trips, so I know I wouldn't be able to do it.

Whadda ya think??!:confused3

.

If you can handle the late drive, take the later flight. More time in Disney is always better in my book, and because it'll be just you, you don't have to worry about cranky kiddos (or husbands ha ha).

Thanks!

OMG, you're kidding! That's terrible. :sad2:

How's your dog doing?

Well, I'm glad to hear that she's doing better. We must have been posting at the same time before. :goodvibes

I was up early too. YUCK My daugher had to get up at 5:30 to get ready for work and that woke me up. My splitting headache, nose and teeth throbbing would not allow me back to sleep. How annoying that you could not make your reservations.

Oct is a great time to go. Does your daughter know she is going?

Thank you!

I'm going to call the vet this morning and see how much bloody discharge is normal. The spot on the blanket yesterday was good sized, about 7inches long and 4inches wide. This morning the spot was smaller. I need to go take a look at her stomach too.

SadieDog - keep us updated on your dog. I hope the healing goes well.

I'm working today and it will be a warm one, 80s and sunny. We're covering an arts festival, dog challenge, and film festival for work. Luckily, all 3 are close to each other.

I called the vet office and they wanted me to bring her right in to check the stitches. I had to ask my brother to bring me b/c the truck is too high for Dega to get in. Can't risk ripping the stitches. My daughter is at work with my car. The incision looks good but b/c of all the leakage, they gave her a week of antibiotics to be on the safe side. She has to pretty much do nothing for 2 weeks and only be taken out to go the bathroom on a leash. She will spend much time in her crate. Later I will put a blanket on the floor near the couch and have her rest on that while leashed to me. Can't have the dogs suddenly decide to play or her run to the window with excitement.

We are going to a 50th anniversary pary for the parents of the daycare lady I work for. I have to go to her house in a bit to pick up a lasagna I am cooking for the event. The 2 ovens at the hall are occupied. Not a problem for me to heat it and bring with us.

Mean Queen, you will have a busy day.

Everyone is so busy this am! I can't even get myself away from the 'puter.

Sadiedog--I hope your furbaby is okay. I can't imagine having to deal with the stitches. When Charlie had his wound, they did not stitch. Take care of Dega--if you are like me, you're sleeping with her and not getting any good rest as a result.

Sweetie does know she is going. She helped me plan her reservations and all. Unlike Mean Queen, I've learned my lesson and know not to try to keep a secret. It just doesn't work for me.

Shay, I'd love to be out what you are doing today. I know it's a lot of work, but it just sounds like enjoyable work!

Let me chime in for Legomom and say take the later flight. Any extra time in DIsney is worth being tired later, IMO.

Well, I've got to get laundry done. I did finally get the dining reservations. I scored a 5pm CRT before the MNSSHP, a 5:30 LeCellier, 5:30 Cape May, 7:35 am Kona Cafe, and an 8:05am Crystal Palace. Now I gotta decide what I'm going to pay oop--I'm thinking Kona.

creativeamanda, I can't sleep with Dega b/c she has to be confined to a crate at night. They said again today that it would be a serious, very expensive operation if she opens up her stitches. Poor thing has to be stuck in a crate most of the time and leashed to go out and pee for 2 weeks.

I need to do laundry too, I don't have any clean pants for tomorrow.

It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun. The dog challenge will be aired on ABC on June 13th. I thought of SadieDog and her Dega when I was there. A very large black and white buick of a dog almost knocked me over trying to check out my video camera.

You are better than me. I used to wait until Sunday night to do my homework. It would have been nice if I did it earlier to get it over with, but I always put it off.

Hello all! New to this thread...but not to the boards. :D

Was wandering around...looking for threads to read...in different places than I normally hang and stumbled upon this one!
