We were there once before, but we stayed in the give kids the world village.
We're disneyland paris people, so it will be interesting to move ourselves around a complex as big as our capital city .
I see only three hotels are connected to the monorail :i
we stay in dlp's version of the grand floridian a lot, so im thinking about one of the other two .
I suppose I have a year to find out

Question for Mean Queen: do you have kids in the public school system there? If so, what's your opinion of it, where you live? I'm trying to research the Marion County schools, and I'm getting some very informative web sites, if only I could decipher the data!! I know Florida runs the gamut of educational levels so I'm trying to see how the area is that we're looking to move in to. Any tips?

Question for Mean Queen: do you have kids in the public school system there? If so, what's your opinion of it, where you live? The public school system in Florida is not one of the best in the countries. But we do have our DD in public school and with our help, she's doing great. I think one of the biggest keys to any education is parental involvement. I think the lack of parental involvement is one of the reasons so many Florida schools do poorly. I would check into Marion county and see how they zone their schools. In my district, you can pick from a bunch of schools in your zone or magnet/fundamental schools. So it doesn't matter if you move near the school you want. You may not get it. But that can also work in your favor, because you could like a school but hate the neighborhood and still be able to go. I recommend you see how that district does school choice then look into what schools are high ranked under the F-CAT. It's not a great indicator of how a school is doing, but it's all we've got.

I'll let you know if I think of more. DD has dance class, so we have to go.

Is this a school pageant? I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. I know my DD always did.

Town. I did it last year and did a state one last April. I was this close to winning last year's. I hope I have luck this year. They're are a lot of fun.
