And what have you been up to lately girlie? How is the new cheer gym going?

I think I am a human taxi. That seems to be all I am doing lately.

The new gym is going good except for on my first day, I tried talking to a group of "cheer moms" well, they turned around and called the coach and told them all kinds of stuff that I did NOT say! But other than that it seems to be going good, my DD is loving it so I guess that is all that matters. :)

As for your house thing, we actually had our realtor come in before he put it on the market and he did a walk through and told us all of the stuff that we needed to do. It made life a little easier for us, because there was a list and we didn't have to sweat about the small stuff that buyers don't really care about.

My main focus was decluttering. Papers and toys and miscellaneous junk tends to pile up all over the place, and if I don't know exactly where to put it, the pile gets bigger! Since we home school, I have a cabinet and a shelf unit in one of the bedrooms that I use as an office which holds all manner of books and supplies. But it looks like a well-used office and it is! My house will never, ever look like a magazine cover!! You just want to make sure everything is clean and picked up. If you're packing already, obviously you'll have boxes piled up around the house. The kids keep most of their toys downstairs in the play room but there are a few items we keep upstairs in the livingroom and on the porch (Legos, mostly!). I'm not going to stash those out of sight for a showing. I will make sure they are neatly in a corner but I have kids - so there will be toys!

I always console myself by remembering that when my friend sold her house last year, it was sold to the people who wanted a last-minute showing - she had very little time to pick up (she had two young kids and a baby at the time!!) and they saw it in its everyday-lived-in state!

I think our biggest problem is that we started a whole house remodel before we decided to build a new home. We were close to being finished but not complete. So we have been driving ourselves insane to finish it. But I think we are going over board with what we feel needs to be done. We are close though. I have been packing and decluttering as we go. I tell you what though...I don't ever want to move again. Building and remodeling along with selling is CRAZY!!

The human taxi part made me laugh. When mine we younger and I was "taxing " everyone around there where days when I swore I passed myself on the road. :lmao:

Thanks for the added house advice. I know we need to calm down with everything we are doing. Everyone tells me now that the house is beautiful. I guess I need to learn to believe them. When I'm told that, the only thing I honestly see are all of the flaws. :sad2:

We are in kind of in the same boat. We've been here almost 5 years. When we bought the house, an older man had lived here since he built it in the late '70s. It had NEVER been updated, so while we did get a great deal on it, it had to be completely redone before we could ever hope to sell it. It had paneling in every room (we counted 5 different shades!), avocado green carpet, Bi-centennial wallpaper in the kitchen... You get the idea! So we've been doing it a little at a time all these years, but now that we need to sell, there's been this big push over the last 10 months or so to hurry up and finally get it finished. It really does look nice now!

Who here thinks Smiley and LegoMom should post some pics of their house? :thumbsup2

Me! Me! :thumbsup2 I'd love to do some remodeling on my house or preferably move. Though selling a house is a royal pain (as reminded by Smiley and LegoMom.)

:hyper: Hi tagless DISers!

I'm a little muscle sore getting ready for school today but I had the time to DIS. Yay! :) Anywho, just updating on my first day of dance last night.

It was a lot of fun. The girls were very very :hyper: :hyper: I guess because they haven't seen eachother in a while. But it was my friend and mine's first time meeting the teacher because we are new to the school. She was really nice and through the class proved she was really helpful. It was really great.

Through the tap class (my friend and I were being tested for possibly a more advanced class) we felt good and that we were brushing up and perfecting things we may or may not have known. Then we came to jazz and, it wasn't our level. We didn't feel challenged enough. So we talked to the owners who were there and they said that we could stay there for a little while then try out the other class with the other teacher when she came back. (she had a baby.)

So yeah it was fantastic! I can't wait till tomorrow when I have ballet and modern! :teeth: Yipeeee.

Sure, I'm up for it! You won't believe my before-and-after's...! Since it's only 6:45am right now and nobody else is up yet, I'll have to wait a bit to take some pics around the inside this morning, but I'll try to get them in here sometime today.

I'm glad to hear the new school seems like it will work out for you. :dance3: I was thinking of you last night as they kicked my butt in my tap class. They were taking us through single, double, and triple time steps. I hate time steps. :headache: I can't wait to hear how your ballet classes, especially pointe, goes.

I would love to post pictures. Give me till this weekend for outside pictures. (We have to do some work on the backyard) I should be able to do some inside shots in the next two weeks. I would love some feed back on anything that still needs to be accomplished. :thumbsup2

Sounds like this will be a wonderful experience for you. I'm glad they are paying attention to your need to be further challenged in some areas. :thumbsup2

Morning everyone!! No substituting call again today so I am home for the day, and it's rainy out!:sad1: I am going to try and do some computer work and online training courses for my business, we'll see how that goes!

Sounds like the perfect day to do what you have planned. Enjoy your rainy day whatever you choose to do. :thumbsup2

I just wish it would rain here. We have had an incredibly dry year and are in bad need of some rain!

How do you like subbing? I've thought about doing that once my baby gets old enough for preschool. What training classes are you doing? I've got my first PC party in a long time coming up. I'm just not into it right now. I'm very unhappy with the changes in the guest specials. You used to be able to spend $60 (used to be $50) and get something free. Now you only get a discount? Big whoop. That's no incentive to spend more. :confused3

Subbing isn't bad at all, but not the same as the full-time job I want and need! I would definitely look into it when she is old enough, gets you some pretty easy money (for the most part) and you can meet some really great people. I haven't decided what training to do yet, I am going to go on the website soon and see what there is, I am so bad at calling people, I hate it! So I might try looking into that. I also have my first party in a while on Friday, for DBF's niece!! A little nervous because I haven't done one in over a month and all the new products, plus it is a little strange when people you know are there. The guest specials still vary, sometimes they still offer the spend $60 and get such and such free, they did that in June but since then it has been discounts on products. When is your show?

I just had to run out quick to put gas in the car and I still think it's funny that the closest and easiest gas station to get to is 5 miles away and in New Jersey, but hey it's cheaper and they pump it for me!!

You still have full service stations? WOW!! Those died out here years ago. I would love to have a full service station to go to.
