Back from WDW! It was a nice, quick trip. We got to the Boardwalk around 10:30 and tried to check in, but of course no room was open. So we walked to DHS. We got there just in time to walk in for the new Playhouse Disney show. My 2 year old loved it! It was very sweet to watch her dance and cheer for all her favorites. Then we grabbed a fast pass for the Little Mermaid. We tried to check out the new Toy Story Mania but it was in cast member preview. Passholder preview is next weeked. Guess what I want to do Mother's day weekend now? We grabbed lunch at the commissary then headed back for Ariel. The little one was getting tired but our room wasn't ready. So we walked around the shops and checked out the characters in the street. We walked back to the Boardwalk and checked again on our room. Still not ready and it's now 3:30. We sat in the lobby already tuckered out from walking back and forth to the Studios. We couldn't get our bags to get our bathing suits, so we just sat and talked to a nice CM. He mentioned that MK would be getting a new roller coaster in the near future and Space Mountain would be upgraded somehow. We talked about DVC and the Contemporary. He said he only knows what he's read online, even though he's not supposed to read the rumors.
Finally, our room was ready and we got inside. It was a nice 1-bedroom villa overlooking the Boardwalk. It was just on the 2nd floor over the grocery store. We had a great view of Spaceship Earth at Epcot. DH and DD8 went to the pool while I got the little one down for a very quick nap. We had dinner reservations at the Yachtsman. Boy was that good! We had the Lobster Bisque, Seafood salad, and Chateau Briande for 2. The desserts were good, but a bit fancy. Chocolate and passion fruit don't go together. We walked back and it started to sprinkle. We noticed Celebration High School was having prom at the Atlantic Dance Hall. We played a few games and checked out stores before the rain came down hard. We went inside the Boardwalk and found some magicians walking around. My DD8 got to help both out with some magic tricks. She thought this was the coolest thing ever. We got back to the room and relaxed a bit. At 9, we watched the fireworks from Illuminations from our balcony. We finally got the girls to go to sleep at 10. My DD2 fell asleep saying "more firefirks, more firefirks."
The next morning we got up and headed to the pool. It was 9:30 and the slide didn't open until 10 so we relaxed for a bit. After a quick trip down the Keister Coaster (aka scary clown slide), we headed back to the room to check out. We packed up and headed to Epcot. DH headed over to get Test Track fast passes while I meandered with the girls to Japan. Instead, I stopped and shopped. So we decided to see if Le Cellier had any lunch openings (yeah, right.) Well, yeah, they did! This is our favorite restaurant and they now serve our favorite dish, the Mushroom Filet, for lunch. What a birthday treat for DH. After eating probably the largest lunch I've had in a while, we headed back for our fast passes. DH and DD8 went on TT while I went in the butterfly tent with DD2. She was so thrilled. We then stopped by a bee exhibit and learned a lot about bees. I headed into Mouse Gears for some shopping when DH and DD8 caught up with us. She wanted to do the playground, so I missed out on Test Track. We then did a bit of pin trading before heading home. This was a very quick and relaxing trip for us. So we missed a lot of our favorites, but got to enjoy other things, like the butterfly garden.
We are going back next Saturday to just do the passholder preview of Toy Story Mania. Then we have a long weekend trip planned for Memorial Day at the Wilderness Lodge. Though judging from how hot it was this trip, that may be our last for a bit.
